...has anyone been to this place?! (The one on their official site.) It drives me UP THE WALL!! Please fill me in if I'm missing something here. You'll go to read a perfectly normal, interesting thread (ie What Song Would You Most Like Heart To Play This Summer?) and everything will be going fine for the first couple of replies...then someone will just randomely say "All hail, Nancy Guitar Goddess! Tawanda!" or something, and then the whole rest of the thread is just people saying this stuff (not a peep about the original topic). "Bow to Ann, Swirling Priestess Of Immortal Vocals!". Seriously, this happens with 90% of the threads. :(

I know what you mean. I went there the other day to find out when the new album is coming out and could find no definitive information. I did find out, however, that they're not even coming to Texas on their tour!! I'm totally peeved about that.

Just kidding! I love both of them. I used to be really mad at Nancy for the whole sexpot video image, until I saw a few documentaries about them and finally understood the dynamic between them. It's very clear to me now how much Nancy loves Ann, and how much she respects her talents and feelings.
One of the best shows I've seen was on the Discovery Health Channel and focused on Ann's weight loss through some weird stomach alteration procedure. I'm glad she lost the weight for her health's sake, but honestly, I never really gave a crap what she looked like (and the same with Stevie...).
Any time I saw some plastic fashion bimbo on TV talking about Ann's weight, I'd run to my stereo and blast "Black on Black II" from Desire Walks On. Anyone who can make the skin crawl up my spine just by opening her mouth and belting out three little words at the beginning of a rock song can weigh as much as Jabba the Hut for all I care.
My favorite Heart song (and video!): EVEN IT UP!!!
"Well, I took you over the tracks when you wanted some ssssiiiinnnnnnnn..."

OMG, this is so weird - I just tried to go to their site last night to get info on album/tour/etc. & couldn't find CRAP! Every time I tried a link, I got "Link Error" or something like that.

I was driving behind an ole biddy this morning and she had a "Tawanda!" bumber sticker.
Me thinks some people watch too much "Fried Green Tomatoes."
TAWANDA!

Hopefully, these same documentaries also showed you that the whole sexpot video image thing was manufactured by the industry, and Nancy hated it. She really does care about how that made Ann feel. They talk a lot about it in their Behind The Music. Good for you for not caring about Ann's size (or Stevie's :wavey: ), but she said she did do it because her joints were hurting and not for vanity. Not sure how I feel about that surgery (gastric bypass), but to each their own.
Even It Up is one of my faves too! The horns! :]

They rock with their ticket prices anyway (I've always been up front and have never paid more than $40, be it a 500 seater or a 12,000 seater!)...but you defintely cannot beat $5!!! Don't miss it!

Even It Up is one of my faves too! The horns! :]
Oh, you aren't kidding! Just thinking about them makes makes me start to shudder. I made a "Kick-Ass Sax Songs" mixtape a long time ago, and it started with "Even It Up" and ended with "Raised on Robbery" by Joni Mitchell. Man, I wonder what happened to that thing? Not that it would even play anymore, I abused it so badly.
THANKS for starting this thread! I have a few friends who like the odd Heart song, but they don't like to get all "into" it. Actually, I didn't even know their website was back up & running -- didn't they shut it down during the Lovemongers era? Not that I'll be joining the message board any time soon...
By the way, has anyone seen a CD copy of the original Greatest Hits album anywhere (the old white double-album with the live versions of "Bebe Le Strange" and "Rock and Roll")? I used to have one, but haven't seen it anywhere since they released those 2 or 3 hits collections with the weird cover paintings in the late '90s. I've even checked eBay a few times, but all I ever find is the vinyl.
Heart at The Backyard in Austin in September!!! :blob2: It's usually General Admission, and I WILL be standing at Ann's feet even if I have to trample some people.

I have loved Heart forever - I think I heard the White album and Dreamboat Annie the first time within months of each other. They kick ass. And they are both such incredibly nice people. I have seen them many times, and met them both and let me tell you - NO ATTITUDE. Real people. Like Stevie is, basically.
That Ann has a voice like no one else. It was never damaged. She never smoked, and though she was a coke girl for awhile, it didn't trash her vocal cords. I think she and Linda Ronstadt are the only rock singers from the 70's who didn't trash their voices. Seeing them live and hearing Ann's voice is unreal. Kudos to hear for her lap band surgery. She looks great and seems very happy. So cool that they completely dissed the record industry. Considering what the industry did to them...I am glad they are doing thier own thing. I love them.
