Yes! He did. I think it was before they were into rehearsals, but he did say something like "we have to do it" because so many fans want to hear it. I don't remember exactly. I think Stevie mentioned they'd be doing Monday Morning in an interview too, and according to the list board on the Destiny Rules doc, they had alot of other possibilities. So I'lll believe that Sara and the other two songs he mentioned will be in the setlist when I hear them and not before. ;)
I'm just encouraged by the fact that the setlist will change. I don't think I really care what they play on this next (last?) leg, just as long as it is much different than the previous 100 shows.

I heard from more than one source that Monday Morning and SOTM were actually being rehearsed and that Smile at You as well. Note, my sources are somewhat reliable, but not to be considered as fact. In other words, I am dishin' dirt

I'm fairly certain Mick spoke about how he suggested SOTM for this leg but that they decided not to add it.
What do we think will be taken off?
I think Goodbye Baby, Say Goodbye, and Beautiful Child might get the axe. I also have a feeling that since they're supposedly adding Destiny Rules back to the setlist that they'll take Second Hand News out (which was the replacement for RTTG and DR). No matter what, we're in for a big treat this time around

I think it will be Gypsy or Beautiful Child and What's The World Coming To. Maybe Eyes Of The World, too.
If I Had my way it would be Don't Stop.

I know i'm probably in the minority and I know that HAVE to play it but i'd like Dreams out...Don't Stop too. Gypsy can leave...it's always been one of my favorites but I've seen it 5 times...unless they start playing an acoustic version with just Lindsey and Stevie a la the AHI benefit, I don't really care. Eyes of The World...I like it a lot but I can see them taking that off.

But in the Rockline interview, he said that Stevie was "loving it" and that they were paying attention to some of the more sonic things that are on the album. So, i'm pretty certain that they're going to do it permanently.
I think BC and WTWCT are getting axed.

i just know it will be a stevie song to replace each stevie song dropped, and a lindsey song to replace each lindsey song omitted.
i can't imagine the band not including "second hand news" or "eyes of the world" as they both receive thunderous applause along with standing ovations! :) :) :) :) :) in fact, when i attended, the whole stadium stood throughtout these two songs when lindsey played and sang them. they're two of fm's fastest numbers that keep the concert really rocking! :)
"dreams" was the band's #1 hit so they'd never drop that."don't stop" has become their signature song so they'd keep that, even though its songwriter no longer tours with the group.

I most definitely think BC will be dropped. I think all of the vocally challenging songs will be removed to make room for some new ones, for example sonething like EFO. I'm crossing my fingers, folks. I'm convinced the reason RTTG was dropped was because it was so hard vocally.

I did hear that EFO was one as well. But that is from questionably reliable sources - in other words, it is rank gossip (the kind I love!!!)

IMO she should make this a priduction number a la Cher. She should sing the first don't you know belt direclty at LB and the second directly at and while pointing to the audience. It would send the place to the stratosphere IMO

 She could come out with this long, schnazzy wig and be sitting on the top of a lion, too.
A disco ball could be lowered from the ceiling and with the very last "Don't you knoooooooooooowwwwwwww?!" the music and the lights would stop completely and the disco ball would explode, releasing glitter and streamers all over the stage.
Wow.

The problem doing EFO live, which is noted a little in the DR documentary, is that there's that immediate change in vocal from "She's done it a thousand times" to "When love starts out..." I don't think they know how to handle the transition, although it could be simple really. Either have LB sing the intro (it's low enough for him to sing) or, as I had thought before, they should just play the studio vocal of the intro in the background and then go into her singing live at "When love starts out." However, I don't think they'll do that...so it just leaves LB singing the intro, which shouldn't be much of a problem. I hope they add it, but I won't hold my breath.

Sharon and Jana could pick up part of the vocals so that Stevie will be able to properly transition into the next verse. I've actually thought about it and it appears to be possible.

They could also change how they play it, so there is a pause there. For instance, later in the song, it's sung a little differently with plenty of time to transition. THey could have hear singing the verse, then a big building up with drums for about a measure a la Stand Back, then she shoots back in with "When love starts out in the darkness..."
I certainly hope they do it!

They had better not drop Eyes of the World and Come. That's all that matters. As long as they have those 2 songs, I'm happy.
I can see them dropping Peacekeeper, as that song is waaaaaaaaaaaay overplayed. I also have a feeling that Say You Will, Say Goodbye (I have no clue why they even considered playing a song with that title in the middle of the show), What's the World Coming To, World Turning (or at least the vest solo), and Goodbye Baby will also get the axe.

I think they tried out one or two popular CM songs to see how they would sound. I think they realized without CM they kind of didn't work.

I think it would be cool if they dropped "I'm So Afraid" in favor of "Murrow," dropped "What's The World Coming To" in favor of "Miranda," dropped "Gypsy" in favor of "Everybody Finds Out," and "Beautiful Child" in favor of "Sara" (although I think "Beautiful Child" has been PHENOMENAL on this tour, they don't really need to do two languid ballads).
Then add "Don't Let Me Down Again," "Destiny Rules," and "What Makes You Think You're The One" (or "I Know I'm Not Wrong," which is a favorite of mine).

the whole idea of comparing SN to Cher is really depressing.
Stevie is a singer and a songwriter. Cher can't sing and she can't write songs.
She is a great actor and an entertainer but when it comes to rock and roll - there's no point in discussing her in the same sentence as anyone in Fleetwood Mac - or any other great band for that matter.
strandinthewind
04-13-2004, 07:13 PM
I beg to differ, Cher has a unique but good voice. She is just older now, but she still has it. Interestingly, when she started out her voice was so powerful, she would have to stand at least like five feet from the mike when singing in the studio and 10 feet when singing back up

Eyes of The World...I like it a lot but I can see them taking that off.
Me too, and if I had to sacrifice a song, well, that would be it.
I am getting so excited with all this talk of a new setlist. "I feel like a kid in some kind of store."---Homer Simpson
As far as additions: I hope they add SOTM and Sara, to hear Sara live is a lifelong dream and I hope it comes true. "Smile at You" would be a great addition but I REALLY wish that they would revive some B/N stuff like "Don't Let me Down Again." Can you imagine how awesome that would be? I would be reduced to a puddle on the floor after that performance. :blob2:
Either breathe some life in Gypsy or axe it, same goes for Go Your Own Way and Rhiannon. Silver Springs could use some pep a la the Rumours re-issue version.
How about a little Red Rover? That would be amazing live, I just wonder if it can be recreated live with the big, overlay sound it has.

'Sides, I absolutely want them to start performing that song live (even though it's not like I attend any shows! *lol*), and the guitar solos for those two songs might be just a little too similar to keep both in the setlist... so "So Afraid" has to go! *lol*

I think the should drop Peacekeeper, I'm So Afraid, Dreams, and What's the World Coming to and do the set like this :
The Chain
Eyes of the World
Say You Will
Don't Let me Down Again
Gold Dust Woman
Come
Second Hand News
Sara
---------Acoustic set------
Big Love
Landslide
Gypsy (Acoustic)
Never Going Back Again
Destiny Rules
Say Goodbye
Beautiful Child
------------
World Turning
Oh Well
Rhiannon
Save Me A Place
Silver Springs
Tusk
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
Don't Stop
----
Crystal
It may not be the hardcore fans' DREAM set list, but it gives us something cool, and still pleases the casual fans who HAVE to hear go your own way, rhiannon etc....I think it's a logical set..what do u all think?

Bad logic. Chris' tune were "hits"...they actually should feel OBLIGATED to play MORE of them. Just the same as when the subsequent band members did Peter Green, Danny Kirwan or Bob Welch (and during his departure, even Lindsey's) tunes...why should Chris' tunes be omitted? He can't sing both himself, or it no longer makes sense. And somehow I can't see Sharon and Janna piping in to do the alternate part on that as they do their Temptations moves in the background.
