View Full Version : Ticket Brokers
I know this has probably been discussed before. If so, I missed it. I just want to know, how do these ticket brokers get all these good seats? I can't understand how the fans don't just snatch these up in the presales. I'm not just talking about Fleetwood Mac either. I really wanted to go & see Van Halen in Philly, but I missed the presale & now nothing is left but on the second level. I'm looking at the ticket brokers, (who BTW, want a real a lot of money for just one ticket) & they have lot of the best seats. So what gives? How do they do it?

You got me, but I'll probably be using one for the Houston show if I go this time.

In Philadelphia, they have VIP ticket holders that are granted the best seats for paying some astronomical amount of money. When VIP ticket holders decide to not take the tickets, they can sell them on e-bay or they can sell them to a ticket broker. Not to mention, i'm sure there are some ticketbrokers that join fanclubs in order to get better seats and then they turn around and sell them.
Have I mentioned I still do not have any Fleetwood Mac tickets in my possession? I'm going to have to end up using a broker.
Excuse my ignorance, but I've never gone through a ticketbroker before. So as the concert gets closer & say they still have a few good seats left, do they ever drop their prices down a bit?
Also who are some of the best ticketbrokers around?

As the show gets closer(days away from show), most ticket brokers will lower the prices. Especially if a show is stiffing.
If you aren't desperate for seats, you can use this to your advantage. The tickets they don't sell, they will send to the venue with someone, who will hawk 'em on the street. There, you can get some real fire sale prices.

If you don't mind going alone to a concert, check Ticketmaster the day before or the day of the show. Most of the time whole sections of seats open up (down in front). And, if you're just buying a single seat, you can get really a really great seat.
