X-Files 2
Duchovny says sequel is in the works
It's been six long years, but fans of the X-Files can finally rest assured that the small screen’s FBI alien huggers are once more en route to the big screen. Talks of a sequel have been bouncing around Hollywood for some time now, but this week news came from David Duchovny himself that a sequel was already in pre-production.
US movie site Moviehole.net got the inside story from Duchovny while interviewing him for his latest movie Connie and Carla. Asking whether there was any likelihood at all that Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would ever make a sequel, they got a surprisingly positive response. 'It's definitely happening,’ Duchovny confirmed. ‘Chris has a great idea for the new movie and I expect we'll be able to begin shooting in the next year or so.'
Asked whether he’ll expect major developments in his character Fox Mulder, Duchovny replied: 'I hope not. I was really fighting against that in the final years of the show and I think the whole point. I think we're going to be introducing a new character in the film which will allow us to cast a major star, male or female, who will want to be part of an exciting supernatural thriller. I think the new movie will appeal to both our core fans and a broad audience. I'm very excited about it.'

Cool. I wasn't a huge fan, but the movie was good.

I was a HUGE fan of X-Files before David left. I even went to a convention. My dad loved the movie and he rarely watched the shows.
Exciting news, thanks Tommer!

Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette are two women on the run from the mob. To stay out of sight, they decide to disguise themselves as drag queens at a drag club. Vardalos ends up falling in love with Duchovny, but he thinks she's a man.

Maybe he'd prefer she were Gary Shandling?

So, essentially it's not a stretch from Jake's actual life. By day he's a teacher, by night, he dresses in drag as Stevie

I was just going to post this.
Im a total XF freak right now. It's like ...I love it.
Yes, DD totally said the movie is coming out. Gillian Anderson is doing a play in London, getting GREAT reviews and in a recent interview, she has said there is a movie in the works. She wouldn't mention it unless she wanted to be IN it! YAY!
I hope to see Doggett, I liked him. Reyes was fine as well, but Doggett and Skinner would be essential.
Side note, Gillian is in the TV Guide this week, and DD is on Ellen on April 7th. GA was just on there a couple of weeks ago and after that she had LUNCH with DD.
It's just too much!!!!!!!!

Yeah but do you blame her? For years she had red hair and she was this pale, short-haired red head. I guess after the show she wanted to be anything BUT that . I don't blame her one bit. I just hope she goes back red for the movie because the blonde, although gorgeous for her , isn't SCULLY.

Duchovny Expects Second 'X-Files' Movie
By The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - David Duchovny (news) expects that Mulder and Scully will ride again one day. Duchovny said a second big-screen installment of "The X-Files" remains in the works. Though he doesn't know the plot, Duchovny said "X-Files" creator Chris Carter has signed off on the story premise.
"I'm dying to hear it," the 43-year-old actor told The Associated Press in an interview for his new movie "Connie and Carla," starring Nia Vardalos (news) and Toni Collette (news), which opens April 16. "So now it's just a matter of making sure everybody can get together at the same time and do it."
Duchovny starred as alien-hunting FBI (news - web sites) agent Mulder for seven full seasons of "The X-Files," worked part-time for an eighth season and returned for the series finale at the end of season nine.
He and co-star Gillian Anderson (news), who played Mulder's skeptical partner, Scully, also starred in the 1998 movie version of "The X-Files."
"I'm at the point where I finally miss it," Duchovny said. "I wanted the grind to end, but I never wanted the show just to end. And I'd always had this fantasy and hope that it would be a movie franchise. Hopefully, this second movie will give it a foundation as such."

I agree with Duchovny. A movie franchise would work fine. I thought the final episode sucked.

I have every episode in the first 5 seasons on tape. I was so dissapointed when Duchovny left the show that I didn't watch a lot of the shows toward the end (of course, i've seen them all now). The final moment in the show...with Scully on the bed and Mulder holding her hands was incredibly appropriate. It was a similar scene that began the entire series. However, I didn't like the whole Cigarette Smoking Man in the adobe hut being blown up portion of the episode. I thought they would have kept him alive...especially since back then there was talk of making another film. I can't wait for it though...really...I've missed that show.

I have a feeling who we saw being blown up may have been a clone. However, what you saw in the last few episodes with Mulder's trial, it would appear that younger men were taking the place of those that were older in the group so now it will be a question of how to stop the new guys. It could go either way.
 back at you. So there.

All that stuff tends to bore me.
The alien storyline was a big yawner for me.
I liked the ones that dealt with the occult & a few of the others, like the one where they were being eaten by a fungus underground. (Hi, Marissa.:wavey: )

One of my favorite episodes is Sygzy. It's about two girls who are best friends and were born on the same day at the same time in the same year. On the particular year in which the episode takes place, the planets allign on their birthday and the town goes absolutely insane. Their town doctor even starts cross dressing (Hi, Jake :wavey: )

I didn't care for that one.
And don't be bitter just 'cause I would wear the look better.

You mentioned two of my faves...the Rob and Laura Petrie episode. LOL When he was drinking, looking out the lil peephole, and had to pee and left, and BAM, something happened.
I love Sygzy! That's the one where at the very end, he's telling her to slow down and she goes "Shut up, Mulder." BWAH!
Another great one is the vampire ep!! I just about DIED laughing when he was on the floor singing the theme to Shaft. The whole he said, she said thing was hysterical.
The WWII-era one, on the boat. Had a split screen deal, VERY cool!
The carnival one with Michael Anderson from Twin Peaks.
The parasite one, which was just on the other day. Ew!!!
Squeeze and Tooms are great.
I love the funny ones and the quirky ones. Like Jake, the alien stuff doesn't interest me, really.
