In case some of you didnt know, Seinfeld is FINALLY coming to DVD this holiday season...It is unclear as to how often each season will be released though. It could be a year inbetween seasons (like it is for The Simpsons currently) or we could see shortened release dates (like Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm...which released its first season in January, and Season 2 is due out in June)

Thanks Alex. Grr, I hope they don't do the frustratingly staggered release dates like The Simpsons. I don't really imagine that they would because they're still making The Simpsons, but Seinfeld might need a bit more momentum? Either way, this is great. I can't wait to hear Michael Richards' voice over commentary!

PS - do the CYE DVDs have much in the way of extras/commentary?

As far as I know, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards, and Julia Luis Dreyfuss aren't participating because they won't be paid for their input even half as much as Seinfeld. Can't say I blame them. ;)

It's about flippin' time!!!! I have been waiting for that for a long time now....that series is definitely one that I'd like to own...with or without commentary :)

My only fear is the price...it seems like it will be very high in demand....and a good money maker...I hope they are not ridiculously expensive...

The first season of I Love Lucy was ridiculously priced. I refuse to buy it for $130. :distress:

This dispute was just settled..... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4424162/

As far as the Curb DVDs go, they are not loaded with that many extras...in fact, commentary is only provided on one episode, but with dvds like this, im sure we'll see "select" episodes with commentary (obviuosly the contest, soup nazi, shrinkage).

I thought the artwork was rather cheesy, too. I'll just tape 'em off of TV Land and buy "The Lucy Show" on video for less than a buck a tape.
