Just curious - Bob Seger was big around the time that Mac was, and I was just copying his Greatest Hits Volume 2 today.

I was checking out the liner notes & saw that Waddy was on a few tunes, so was someone else (Russ Kunkel maybe?) Also, Rick Vito is the guy playing slide guitar on Like a Rock?!?! Am I the only one who does not know this?

OK, so I know that a lot of these guys did a lot of session work for a lot of people back in the day (and maybe still) but I was just wondering if there's any connection w/ Bob & Stevie/Mac? Nothing I know of, but that would be really cool.

Paula

PS - I LOVE Bob Seger!

PPS - Also noticed that Liberty DeVito (sp) was on every track on Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Vol 1&2 - never realized it til now.

the only connection i know of (besides Waddy and Russ etc) is that there was talk of a duet for either RAL or TWH....I can't remember which. I'm thinking it was RAL. I remember MTV reporting on it....they didn't mention what the song was or anything else except that Stevie was to be doing a duet with Bob Seger on her next album.

Obviously it never happened.

I can kinda link Bob with Stevie this way: Bob Seger was good friends with Glen Frey of the Eagles before Glen left Michigan for L.A. and hooked up with Don Henley & the Boys. Of course, we can link not one, but at least two Eagles with Stevie: Joe & Don, therefore, sort of, linking Stevie with Bob Seger.

Bob Glaub also played in Seger's band and played bass on some of the Bella Donna tracks and tour.:)

ha ha ha ha ha Jake :D :D :D :D

...I think we are of the same generation so to speak, but mine was the kenny/sheena version.....no one at my school liked Bob's version, and at that tender age I preferred Sheena to Bob. Ahhh youth. It was THE perfect prom theme though.

I just caught the replay of the R&R HoF induction and wow - Bob has NOT aged well.

I've heard recently that the reason he hasn't been around lately is because of vocal problems (mostly lack of stamina to do a tour rather than put out an album) and it was apparent - he really seemed to be struggling and his voice sounds totally different.

Too bad, he's one of my faves.

Compared to others, yes, it was. I went to one with the prom theme "I'll Stop The World And Melt With You". Now there's a romantic slow dance.
