JJ Jackson

For some of you younger Ledgies, JJ Jackson was one of the first MTV veejays and he just died...

He was a fan of Stevie's way back....I remember in the early days of MTV he always used to say really positive things about her before her videos or news stories.

Anyway, that was one of the reasons i liked him.

I remember all the early veejays used to praise her back when.
And on VH1, I recall Rosie O. talking about spending a Thanksgiving with Stevie (they had the same agent).
JJ certainly had better taste than his successors.

A little known fact is that JJ Jackson was tight with Led Zep back in the day! Like in the very early days--late 60's, early 70's. He liked his rock and roll. I have some very fond, fond memories of MTV from that time. It was a must-see. It was the background of my life during my high school and college days. And then it morphed into something that I just don't watch anymore. Sigh. Rest in peace JJ. You are very fondly recalled & remembered and with your passing goes a little bit of my youth.
