View Full Version : Maroon 5
Any Maroon 5 fans here? I never heard of them before until they appeared on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago. I usually have to fast-forward through the musical acts (I tape SNL & watch it Sunday morning.), but I didn't fast-forward through them. They are a good band. They impressed me so much, I went out & got their CD, Songs about Jane. Harder to Breathe & This Love are my favorite songs.
Anyone else like them?
Lee :)

I've only heard 2 songs by Maroon 5, I liked both of them. One of the few bands out there right now that seems really talented & original, IMO.

I like Harder to Breathe but I don't like the other single they have out now...my sister and her husband just saw them here a couple of weeks ago and said they were awful live...BUT I didn't see them myself...so I can't formulate an opinion....
So...I think they're alright but really have no desire to own any of their stuff....I do think they're better than some of the stuff I'm subjected to on the hip-hop station that plays at the gym I go to...

I bought Songs about Jane, and I think it's awesome. Although, for anyone who's wondering, don't base your decision on buying the album off of Harder to Breathe, because the rest of the album is entirely different with a few exceptions. I think the best song on the album, which I hope they'll release as a single, is Tangled.
Cause I feel there is nothing left to say
To you, that you want to hear
That you want to know
I think I should go
The things I've done are way too shameful
And I've done you so wrong
Treated you bad
Strung you along
Oh, shame on myself
I don't know how I got so tangled
The album skyrocketed lately into the top 20, they're at #11 now. But, yes, I really like their album.
Yea, I like them. "This Love" is one of the catchier songs I've heard in a long time. It kept playing in my head a few days ago, so I guess that's a good sign. I intend to pick up the cd and see what else the group has to offer. The lead singer's voice is definitley different. It's a little raspy, but raspy voices rock in my book! And to think that we actually have a real band taking away the spotlight a little from the likes of Clay and Britney...YAY!

heard a clip of Maroon 5 last night and wasnt impressed at all (As I posted elsewhere not heavy enough & definitely not musically interesting to me what-so-ever)
Reminds me of the other so-called <b>"rock"</b> that is on the radio...

I love This Love, I think it's a cute little song. It won't change the face of music but I enjoy the song. The video is hot, VH1 plays the real video ( MTV was forced to put flowers everywhere) but the real video is sorta "kinky" and I like it. It goes with the song.
I need help. HELP.
I don't know if anyone has ever seen Ryan Seacrest's show. It's on Fox. It's on at 5 p.m. here, so I watch it after work & it's live. It's really interesting because he's live & everything is current & he has the different guests on. Of course he always talks about American Idol. Anyway Ryan has this segment & it's 60 seconds with a famous person when they're asked questions & they answer all in 60 seconds. Maroon 5 was on Friday. Well, it was three of them. They were asked by a woman, Stevie Wonder or Stevie Nicks? They said Stevie Wonder! I thought that was something. I like them both, but I probably would have said Stevie Nicks.
Still enjoying their CD. Right now I'm into "She Will be Loved" Yes, I think they are original & talented, too.

I just bought the Maroon 5 CD the other day, it's becoming one of my faves already. I'm into "She Will Be Loved" and "Not Coming Home" a lot right now. The whole CD is sort of like the theme album of a relationship of mine that just went bust-- especially "Harder to Breathe."

I hate Maroon 5, ok, I like them but am pissed off at them. The John Mayer concert I went to was suppose to have Maroon 5 opening up, but at the week of the concert they cancelled because they wanted to go on Saturday Night Live, so I didn't get to see them live. One of the reasons I went to the John Mayer concert was to see them too, but John Mayer was awesome without them. So they are a good band, but need to learn not to cancel shows, even though they had kind of a good reason to do it. You don't get on Saturday Night Live very often.

I know that album by heart, thanks to my best friend. Whenever she drives us somewhere, that is what's playing in her car (and she drives A LOT!) Because I always make her listen to the Mac, I see it as an even trade :) I do like Harder to Breathe and This Love.
Finally got a copy of Songs About Jane. I really like the whole thing, especially "She Will Be Loved" along with the current single "This Love". Does anyone else think that the lead singer sounds a little like a young Rod Stewart? Kudos to Maroon 5. I want to hear more from them. :)
