Got any favorite funny quotes? Here's one of mine, from the San Francisco Chronicle, March 1993:
In the Fleetwood Mac days, I got a reputation for not liking to tour. It's not that. I didn't want to tour with Fleetwood Mac. I laugh when I read that.
Les, our illustrious moderator here at the LB Forum, has been putting a lot of hard work into her site, Madness Fades. Check it out! There are quotes galore -- many of which you probably remember from years or even decades ago, & many others you don't ever remember seeing or hearing -- plus a lot of great audio & video files.

"We didn't ask for Hitler's train."
LMAO!!
Another one:
"Music is a means of expression that rings truer and is more connected to things inside than speech".
SO true.

Don't know if this is a mistake in Bob Brunning's book or what it is, but it seems funny to me:
"My reaction to following up 'Rumour' was to instigate the 'Tusk' album which was like total flip-flop on what that album had been. It was a far softer, commercial thing, and it was not at all well received by Warner Brothers at that time."
Confusion alright. ;)
The man most often makes me laugh when he does his "intellectual artist" thing for several interviews in a row. It ain't that serious, Lindsey!

"Christine is very trained and methodical, Stevie is neither trained nor methodical. Stevie writes sort of like Mick drums."
I read this in a Tusk Interview. The interviewer was asking him what it was like to compose with each CM and SN. It was one of those days in an old bookstore that had millions of old magazines and I kept looking for FM articles.

very funny, and unlike a lot of his remarks, this is totally clear for me, and I agree. It is a very Cruijffian expression.*
* if you don't know who Cruijff is and how he plays with language: too bad for you. :D

I like this one:
I border on being...not antisocial, but I’m just not a party person. A lot of times I’ll say, “Yeah, I’ll be there!” and at the 11th hour I’ll chicken out and stay home.
Guitar World, September 1997
He sounds like someone that I know.

I agree it made me laugh too. And Cruijff will be lost on me forever unless you educate me.....:distress:

:wavey:  Quote from Oct.2003
Acoustic Guitar Article:
"By taking the time away(from F Mac)
and just slowing down and learning...
I felt I had so much more to give back!"
Same article about "Say Goodbye" :
"The lyric came first which is unusual for me!
I came up with... :D a weird tuning where... I
DROPPED:eek:  THE G-STRING   down a
step so that ...it got me to a place where
I could play all those Figures Fairly Easily!"
Just watch His Hands working those strings!
Ummmmmmmmm!!! Bawaaaaahhhhh!!! ;)
Get my mind out of The Musical Gutter!Sky:)

He didn't make it clear as to the exact tuning this song is in. For those of you who care, it's D-G-D-F-A-D.
IRRELEVANT! IRRELEVANT! IRRELEVANT! IRRELEVANT! IRRELEVANT!
Oh yeah.
My favorite Lindsey quote is when he was asks why nobody else sounds like him on guitar.
"I guess nobody else is stupid enough to sound like me!"

>>>>>>Nothing humorous. I just like these quotes.....
On LAW AND ORDER: The people who do enjoy this or enjoy my stuff on Tusk are enjoying them for the reasons, hopefully, that I want them to enjoy it for...They're appreciating the fact that I'm caring about what I'm doing and I'm taking chances. I mean, you HAVE to take chances!-- The Source Special, 1982
On his OUT OF THE CRADLE TOUR: The contrast from having done whatever I left off with -- which was probably arenas -- to getting down to being able to lean over and sweat in somebody's face, I think it's been great. I've been having a ball! I wouldn't think of going out and trying to fill an arena at this point, but beyond that, you really lose touch with how distant you are from the audience and how distant they are from you and how much less the show becomes because of the idea of playing to 20,000 people a shot. -- Arizona Republic, April 1993
I'm kind of interested in getting close, making as much contact as possible. -- Billboard, March 1993
On his OUT OF THE CRADLE album: There is an innocent quality to it....Even the packaging has an innocent quality. It's almost bordering on precious [laughs], but I've got old family photos in there and all that, and the whole thing has kind of a "Remember this?" sense to it. -- BAM, May 1992
On STREET OF DREAMS: This song was written about a time when I was sort of drifting creatively and wasn't quite sure what I was doing. My father who had passed away many years before...I used to go up to my hometown and sit and talk to him and try to imagine what he would say to me...what advice he would give me.
--Concert in San Juan Capistrano, CA, December 11, 1992
Aw, thanks David. Though while I may tend to hang out here too much, I'm not the LB moderator, just the lonely Q&A board moderator. ;) But thanks for the kindness about the website.
One of my favorite humorous quotes is the one about Never Going Back Again. It's delivered pefectly.
"This song was written a few years ago when I was...well, all of us were actually a lot less happy than we are now. You're telling me! And though we are a lot happier now, the song still makes us miserable when we sing it."
In concert in Baton Rouge, 1978
