Ooo - I like all of those. I would add an outtake if that is what it is of Stevie singing Vanilla Fudge You Keep Me Hanging On with what sounds like the Heartbreakers. It is short and she is fabulous on it. It is not really an outtake, it appears to be just an ad lib during down time.

I think her at a piano with a Beauty and the Beast esq. orchestra doing a produced version of the Three Birds of Rhiannon would be incredible "For You Rhiannon - I would fight - I woud fight the world" sighs!!!

Finally, it is a crime she never did Julia with her BD voice. When she sings "When I walk through your door - I am freed from my slavery" - the latter phrase just soars. Same for The Dealer.

I LOVE her voice on that one. It's very ragged but very appealing.

I don't think I have twenty demos even downloaded. Out of what I do have though, I think my favorite is Garbo, followed by Trown Down (Wall of Sounds) Channel Channel, and Blue Water.

I don't think I've every heard the angry version of "Gypsy." Where can that one be found? I probably have it, but I probably just didn't realize it was different.

Where is that one found? Is it a separate outtake or is it in the midst of another session?

I think Jake is referring to the BD outtake of Gypsy with the Heartbreakers. :)

It's on a master reel labeled as "Keep Me Hanging On/Gold and Braid Reel". It's only about 50 seconds long, but it's great. There is a fully mixed version and an acapella version.

I would list my picks, But I think most have already been mentioned on ya'll posts.

But I will say #1 on my list would be "Storms" (Acoustic) version that is on the "Alternate Tusk Album" cd.

Brian "Back to searching for setlists of bootlegs of ABBA, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, and TONS of others..." j.

I'm listening to my Stevie demos today. I don't listen to them often. There are quite a few demos I can't listen to. EGADS! LOL Here are some I love that I forgot about:

Leather and Lace (guitar demo without Henley...I prefer this over the BD version. Her voice is so cute on it!)

Something Exquisite (should have been on RAL instead of, oh, I dunno, the title track. LMAO!! She could have called that album Something Exquisite. :) )

My #17 pick...Spinning Wheels is not the song I was thinking of. It was I Call You Missing. I like the weird music. Actually, I think I'll put Something Exquisite as my #17, as I like it better really.

Cecelia is awesome because of the obvious SOTM lick. It's freaky.

I love the guitar in Impossible Task. I wish she'd do a song with that guitar melody, but not those words.

I really like Amber too. It's very sing-songy.

Cathouse Blues is the cutest song!!

Annabel Lee is cool too. It reminds me of Dust in that she took a poem and put it to music.

I wished Annabel Lee would have been recorded for SYW that or Space Needle 2 top favs.

I think these are probably subject to change:

If You Ever Did Believe (Tusk Era?)
Designs of Love (That's Alright)
Smile at You (Mirage)
You Could Forget (Garbo)
Thrown Down (Wall of Sound Version)
Fireflies (Studio Demo w/LB vocals)
Sara (Cleaning Lady Version)
Chanel, Chanel
If You Were My Love ("Tropical" Version)
Sorcerer
Cathouse Blues
Forest of the Black Roses
China Doll
Blue Water
Beauty and the Beast (Blues Demo)
The Dealer (Bella Donna? Version)
Lady from the Mountain (RAL? Version)
No Light (Planets of the Universe)
Three Birds of Rhiannon (Maker of Birds)
The Tower (Goodbye Baby)

*Without You (honorable mention)

And if anyone has the demo of Running Through the Garden, could you share it with me? I had it a long time ago, but I must've deleted it or something :(

1. China Doll, because i dont think anyone's mentioned it in this thread, and its really impressive!
2. Jimmy Come Back-- a great Motown-esque song that even now, a young singer could have a big hit with- Pink, maybe? :)
3. 24 Karat Gold
4. the early out-take version of 'Sable on Blonde'-- such a great vocal on it!
5. 'Have No Heart'-- so gothic and for a 'story song' one of Stevie's most compelling lyrics, maybe :)
6. 'Love And War'-- real potential there
7. the early 'Smile At You' demos
8. 'Forest of the Black Roses'- really brilliant
9. a demo of 'Everybody Finds Out' with 'Big Love' used as part of the musical track and Lindsey sounding really great loudly singing 'i know he loves me, everyday he calls me, he says he adores me, what can i say'-- it's really some of his best singing ever, on those lines!
10. 'Chanel Chanel' because her voice is really awesome on it. i've heard it refered to as a TISL out-take, but i really would bet it's Wild Heart era...
11. 'At Last' and 'Sunday Kind of Love' - great to hear her tackle this genre of music, and especially fond of her vocals on 'SKOL' but 'At Last' is excellent, too.
12. 'Lady From The Mountain'-- i can't remember which version i liked so much, but i think it was shorter and more poignant than one i didnt like as well
13. is it called 'the three birds of rhiannon' or is it called 'maker of birds'- ?-- ... but the one where near the end she sings 'for you, rhiannon, are in my blood'--
14. live version of 'Angel' from the Bella Donna tour or US Festival, iforget which
15. not a real favorite of mine, but to me the earlier version of 'Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind' was a lot nicer than the released version and enjoyable.
16. an early version of 'Silver Springs' that has the line 'go ahead and try' after 'you won't forget me'-- its about 7 minutes long and really great, but so was the b-side of GYOW and the Dance Version, of course!
17. She Loves Him Still- awesome
18. If You Ever Did Believe earl version with the great, ragged vocals, especially at the end!
19. What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You-- lots of potential there! (maybe remove the 'whistles'??)
20. Talk to Me out-take, less 'produced' sounding than the record with a more relaxed vocal.
there's a live version of Stevie singing 'Wild Thing' with Tom Petty from the 80s, and she sounds great on it, but the quality wasn't good.

1. All the King's Horses
2. Lady from the Mountain
3. Mystical Love
4. RTTG (80s)
5. Mistaken Love
6. Another plug for the first 3. ;)
7. Joan of Arc
8. Storms (Acoustic)
9. SOTM (Tusk Bonus Disc)
10. Smile at You (Flaming (Tusk?) Version)

My favourite Lady from the Mountain demo is called 'No. 5'. I think it's no. 5 of 5. Does anyone know if this is the most produced version, or if it's the RAL version everyone's mentioning?

I'm not sure what number it is, but the one I LOVE definitely has RAL vocals and layered production.

BTW, where are the rest of your picks? Don't hold out.
