Mine is Garbo, with the original Silver Springs second (yeah, I know it's not solo).

Mirror Mirror is definitely underrated. I don't know why I like it as much as I do. Usually I hate those kinds of keyboard-heavy songs.

"I see something - I see a handsome soldier" in that almost urgent, breathless voice just floors me every time as does teh rest fo the song. So, "Battle of the Dragon" most definitely

I also think "Battle of the Dragons" is one of her most complex songs. I tried to sing it once for fun. It is VERY hard to sing. i think it is one of those "only Stevie Nicks" and her funny little voice could sing this kind of songs"

I've never heard Battle of the Dragon... is there a place I can download it? I think my favorite is either Garbo or Silver Springs.

Battle of the Dragon. It's stunning, one of my all-time favorite songs of Stevie's. So powerful and moving.
"No one walks away from this battle, not from the power - it's so strong, like a fury. Keep the fury deep inside you - and wish it to end. And when your friends start asking you why, you just pretend - don't say nothing!"
LOVE it.
Siri - it's on the Enchanted Box Set, which you MUST buy. Someone had the B-side version up recently- is it still there?

gimme a break, BOTD is NOT a B side, it's an original movie soundtrack song, if you count it as a b side, you can also choose from the likes of kind of woman, edge of seventeen, wild heart, HAEWAFY, stand back or i can't wait, all of those came to be b sides eventually.

Actually, "Battle of the Dragon" is a b-side. It was a b-side to "Sometimes It's A Bitch" on the single that I have and the single that was released in the UK. ;)

For those who don't know, it was available on the 'American Anthem' soundtrack for five years before it turned up as a European b-side.
So I'm with Tommer... when I think of "favorite b-sides," I think of the songs that were only available as a b-side... not the ones that were also on a soundtrack or full-length album.
"Garbo," "One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star," "Real Tears," "Mirror Mirror," and "Thousand Days" are the only ones that would count under the above criteria.
"Inspiration" is a bit debatable, since it appeared on the Japanese release of 'Street Angel'... but in my opinion, it still counts as a "b-side only," because that's the only way it was available to fans outside of Japan. :)
Anyway... of the "b-side only" tracks, my vote goes to "Thousand Days."
If we're counting ALL of the songs that have ever been b-sides, then I'll go with "Battle Of The Dragon."

I was just noting it was a rarity like a tue B side is. Even Stevie says if you blink you miss her songs in motion pictures  But, a B side is a B side - thus, "Battle of the Dragons" is beside the point

Lord child, does any of that really matter? BOTD was a b-side, plain and simple. I was simply correcting a statement that was false. ;) The question was favorite b-side, not favorite "b-side only" or "rare import track" or "was released on an obscure soundtrack that no one bought but was then released as a b-side later". It was favorite b-side.

Ah, but although "OMBTRARS", "Garbo", and "Thousand Days" originated as B-sides, they WERE eventually available on a full-length album. Should they be counted? Oh, the agonies of being anal!

I would have to say either Battle of the Dragon, or Mirror Mirror as my fav B-sides.
I dont know why mirror mirror wasnt included on Rock a little!!!!
I used to listen to Battle of the Dragon on the boxed set CD # 3 in my car during the Sunday night 1hr drive back from my ex gf's place 4yrs ago, so *every* time i listen to it now, it really takes me back and puts me in another place and another time!!

As a general rule I don't, but, what's that Lindsey quote about "falling under a simple set of labels" or whatever?

Oh yes. I'm actually quite fond of the assless pants.
I will never forget being in middle school when that song "Cream" came out. Me and my friends sang it all the time, not knowing how dirty it really was. Oh and the Prince thing in Thousand Days? I think it's a myth. The beginning verse is about him but the rest of the song is about Lindsey. [she repeats a lot of the same lyrics as in Whole Lotta Trouble] Okay, enough lyrical interpretation! Prince! Woot!

Isn't Wayne Gretzky's blonde wife now Richard Marx's blonde wife? That actress from Flashdance and Stayin' Alive? The girl in the Roxanna video (Toto). Sheesh, this has become the 80's thread. LOL

I don't know, I just remember that in Martina's autobiography she writes that she wished that Wayne wasn't married because she could have such great kids with him.

Mirror Mirror, and Real Tears, and Garbo. Those are my favorite b-sides. Wow - what a range of sound between all three, now that I think about it....
Garbo seems so classic Stevie, it's a shame that never made it onto an album. Can you imagine a nice 80's video for that?
Oh ya, I forgot about Silver Springs. I guess because I never had that 45 record and didn't have it as a "b" side myself. I had it on a double cassette that had a Stevie interview and had a bunch of songs along with the interview. I got it back in like 1986 and it was the first time I got to hear songs like Frozen Love, Insider, and Silver Springs. I was blown away. Ahhhh....my early Stevie fanatic days.....memories!

I like the first half, but the song leaves me hanging - it doesn't build to anything, and the undercover music lover vocal makes me cringe. If they fixed the second half I'd be into it.
