I have to write an essay for english com 12. I want to do one on Stevie, of course. It's an 500 word essay. I wonder if any one had ideals on lay out or subject titiles, or anyone done this themselves. I would love the help, I want to get it done quick.
Thanks Alison
Cool! I don't have any ideas...but I'm sure someone does. And you KNOW we want to read it when you're done.

How about why she'd be a good choice as a drug education teacher? Seriously!
Good luck with your essay, whatever you choose :wavey:

Perhaps you could just do your own interpretation of one of her songs...not necessarily word for word, but I know English teachers like close readings where you just focus on a quote or two and scrutinize them very carefully. You could do a comparison type of thing in which you interpret a certain song differently or at least part of the song differently and offer your own thoughts. Independent thinking...that's the key to a lot of English papers. Plus remember, 500 words in 12 point Times New Roman font isn't even two pages, so it shouldn't be too hard for you. Good luck!

- The theme of survival in Stevie's life and songs
- Stevie's influence on the image of a woman in rock
- Stevie's influence on other performers/songwriters
- Stevie's unusual charisma - What's at the root?
- Stevie's work with charities
- Stevie's choice between career and kids
- The evolution of the Stevie-Lindsey relationship
- How on earth was Stevie with some of her past boyfriends
- Stevie's new love (a dress)
(Obviously, these are ideas and not titles. Don't get me started on titles.)
