The Fan Club is planning to preview the demo version of Gold Dust Woman from the reissues as a free download sometime today. Keep checking. I'll probably post it on my site too.

What's the sound fidelity like? just as maybe a general indication of the rest of the bonus tracks.

Well, listening on the computer (no headphones), it sounds AMAZING to me. It's crystal clear! This version of GDW is very stripped down, acoustic...I like it. :)

It's a wma (protected) file encoded at 96 K bits/second. IMHO the sound quality is and will be excellent on the remastered cd. This version is acoustic guitar and cymbals (I think) and is played a little bit faster.
Since it's protected content, Windows Media Player (WMP) has to contact another website for the license. Once you acquire the license, the file can be played for 30 days.
Of note is that the last minute of the demo around the 3:50 mark sounds exactly like "If You Ever Did Believe" with Stevie singing "baby don't leave" etc.

My media player connected and got the license and still-no sound. Any suggestions?

My Windows Media player is still trying to acquire the licence. Did this take a long time because mine sure is taking forever.

It took a little bit and then it popped up on the screen. Still can't hear anything though.

Did a window pop-up asking for a sign-up (e-mail address, birthdate, etc.)? I entered a an e-mail address and birth date (not my own) and then the file started playing.

IT IS WORKING
It sounds a lot like the guitar one on the DVD 5.1 (or whatever) of Rumors. It is very cool in that all of the hippie trippy stuff of the final cut is not there except for Stevie's voice, which is without the layered self and other harmony.
pick up the pieces and "move on" instead of "go home" :( "Go Home" is so much bitter than "move on"
OMG she took "baby don't leave me" in IYEDB straight from this track harmonies, cadence, structure, beat, all of it.
Also, I had to keep hitting submit in the licensing window like 50 times before it finally took hold.

Yes, I did FINALLY. This comp. is a ittle older and has only 128 MB of RAM. So, I had too many things open and it crashed a few times
Thanks anyway darlin'
Prime evidence of the brilliance of LB in the final cut!!!!!!!

Although her voice is older, her"Baby Don't Leave Me" in this new GDW is the same as in IYEDB, which was 20 years later

Whoa! Incredible. It's so strange to hear Gold Dust Woman segue into the end of If You Ever Did Believe :). It's an interesting blend of lyrics... from "pick up the pieces and move on" (or "go home") to "baby don't leave me, I'm down on my knees... begging you please." At any rate, it looks like these reissues are going to be great. THANK YOU RHINO!

not the same version that I have so that's a good thing...At least the remaster/reissues won't be a disappointment like the Beatles "Let It Be...Naked" Fly On The Wall bonus disc was, a 20 minute 1 track disc of clips instead of completed songs (Which most diehard Beatles fans already had in their possession if they collect any of the "Get Back" session material.).

If anyone has the Leather & Lace Master Reel to Reels, Stevie restarts that song a number of times in that session by counting.. 1,2,3,4 she has the same vocal tone, and it almost sounds like it could be from that time period.

I sort of assume that some of the things unearthed for the DVD-A will be on the Rhino album, too, like "Keep Me There."

I was thinking it might just be a drum machine.
Stevie wasn't making demos with other people at this point was she? ie, is it probably Lindsey playing guitar?

Definitely sounds like the DVD-A mix somewhat doesnt it?...Guess I'll just have to be patient and wait for my copies of these re-issues to arrive.
Btw, Hopefully on the Tusk expanded reissue they use the "acoustic" version of "Storms" since that track is ab-so-lute-ly amazing!!!

WOW.
If the whole set is the same quality in difference, then we are gonna relive everything we know in every detail. sh*t, it immediately makes me fantasize how this evolved into the thing that's on the album. WOW again.

Wow this is sweet! The IYEDB bit is better than the what she did on the demo IMO. I was never really sure of the timing of that older demo (first got my hands on it in about 1985) but I guess we can consider that to be Rumours era, eh?

And I gave up "luxury purchases" for Lent!!! Oh well...maybe Fleetwood Mac should be considered "essential." :D

Interesting take. Kinda bouncy. It's lacking all the darkness and eerieness of the final cut. Nice alternate take, but not something I will be playing too often.

I loved it as an outtake. (Outtake as opposed to "finished version", which I will always love the most). Its simplicity stresses the dark feeling of it and the connection to "If You Ever Did Believe" is surprising.
Looking forward to the reissue and thanks for posting. :)
