This maybe old news, but I just heard Stevie's version of "At Last" for the first time. What does everyone think of it? (From walden pond benefit)

I really like Stevie's version of Etta James' At Last. Stevie also does her Sunday Kind of Love which is good also. :)

It's greaqt. The first time I heard it I got chills. The best is the last part when she sings the words "At last" with such power.

I love it. If I had it back in 1999, I would have used it for my wedding song. Oh well. Shania Twain got that honor instead.

I absolutely LOVE this song...I think her version kicks some major ass....it's probably my favorite non-Stevie Stevie song! I was just at a wedding recently and their first dance was to the Etta James version..and I was like...oh no, the Stevie one would have been much more powerful hahha...I guess it would have to me...so I hope to use that at my wedding one day...if that day ever comes...

My friends used the Etta James version, too. It's a shame that the great Stevie version is hidden away on an AT&T promotional CD where most eople will never even hear of it let alone here it. I doubt that most people know she can sing that kind of song, especially these days. It would be fun surprising them.
Maybe in ten years it will make it onto her next boxed set.

Stevie does a great job with At Last. The origninal version by Etta James is worth a listen also.:)

I love it! It is my absolute favorite version of the song, next to the original... of course!

Can't be done. I cringe when I hear Stevie try.
Just like Stevie should be the only one to ever sing "Sara"..."At Last" is one of those songs that really shouldn't ever be done by anybody but Etta.

I was skeptical too Chili because I LOVE Etta. But, I think Stevie did it justice, but it certrainly was no Etta.

Same with "Sunday Kind Of Love". Stevie should stick to being Stevie. Leave the classics to jazz singers. ;)

I'm not a big fan of this new trend of "rock singers record the standards" craze to begin with.

I love it especially because Stevie doesn't ever seem to branch out too far and so, considering this, I think it's amazing and is one of those things I'll pull out to show that she really can sing and does have a little bit of power and range. I'd love to hear her take on something with a little more blues-mama-funk like Etta's (and conversely Janis') "Tell Mama". Just picturing Stevie referring to herself as "Mama" in a song is actually pretty novel on it's own! And then if she just went crazy performing it just breaking-it-down doing the Funky Chicken or the Mashed Potato on stage (like Mad Mabel Motormouth in the movie Hairspray) ummm....ok maybe that's branching out a little too far....
