View Full Version : Looking for "The Wild Heart" demos

I'm currently making some cds off of all the files i've collected the past couple of years. I need more disk space and this is one small way i can accomplish that.

Anyway. i've categorized my files as "Bella Donna era demos" and "Rock a Little era demos" etc etc....I have a ton of every era except for the Wild Heart era. All i have is "all the beautiful worlds" and maybe one or two others....

What else is out there? And, i know this is really picky but when i categorize stuff i lump together whatever was recorded in that time period...for example, i have "greta" as a RAL demo because it was recorded during that era. It just gives more of a continuity feel to the vocals, types of songs that were being written etc....

SO! With that said....what else is out there and would anyone like to send me any that they have?

I also am interested in any Rumours era demos too...I currently only have good versions of "Think About It","Keep Me There", and the original "Silver Springs" (not the finished studio version but the one with the long ending).

I do have a cassette version of many of the stripped down Rumours songs before overdubs were recorded. I guess i need better versions of those but am really looking for demos of songs that were never recorded and released for the album. I know there's really not many out there.

THANKS!!!!!

I know a couple..

Dial the number
Belle Fluer
All These Years
Tied up (in promise)
Blue Water
All the beautiful

I know these because a friend of mine made me a cd of "The Wild Heart" sessions cd with a bunch of demos of the original songs and stuff. It's cool.

Hope this helps:)

thanks. i know i have all but "all these years"...I thought "dial the number" was from TOSOTM? The version i have definately is not from TWH era. I also thought "Belle Fleur" was from the BD era?

Gee, i'm such an ungrateful bastard aren't i? No, really, thanks...i really try to judge by the quality of her voice that determines the era. The BD and TWH eras are sometimes tricky though.

I agree on both counts.

I was just doing this yesterday but if you look at the detail of the press clippings from the Wild Heart Tourbook, it mentions some songs for the "upcoming Wild Heart album" the article mentions Belle Fleur and Greta....I can't rmember the other two.

hope this helps :wavey:

i think we just need to have Ms.Nicks come over to someone's house (mine preferably ;) ) and sit her down with these demos, bootlegs etc (and you can come over too Bella Figura cause i know you're in my neck of the woods!)...after she reads us the riot act for even having these songs, i'll say, "fine, granted...but just tell me what years you recorded these exact demos!" then she'll have me committed and i won't have to worry about it anymore!

but seriously folks, it's possible that "belle fleur" was recorded as a demo around the BD period but maybe she wanted to rerecord it for TWH....it's just a possibility...i'll have to listen to it again. now that i think about it, it could very well be TWH. same thing with "greta"...it sort of reminds me of "nightbird"...

what's really stinky is that Stevie had good and bad days vocally back then...the majority of songs on TWH were good vocally but then you'd have "nightbird" where her voice sounds a lot different.

joe, I bet you Stevie doesn't even remember when she recorded a demo's first version. I think she takes lots of her demos into each recording session and some make it to an album and some don't. And then the demo shows up again at new session.

You're best bet would be to have complete access to her demo safe in Phoenix and do the research yourself ;)

Is it possible that Garbo had the name Greta? Garbo almost made the album (and should have!).

I believe that article in the Wild Heart tour book states "Belle Fluer" and "GARBO" not "Greta", but I'll check it when I get home.

Also, I have 2 versions of Dial a Number. One is from TWH, but the other features Kenny G defintely from TOSOTM era.

Wow, I think Stevie's voice is perfect on every song on that album.

Violet and Blue and Destiny. Garbo is referred to as Greta Garbo.
