View Full Version : All Over You Demo
Has anyone heard this?? My gad, I didn't know that Stevie tried to do a rap song. What's with the guy rapping/rhyming in the middle of it? And Stevie keeps going "uh" "uh" "uh." Does anyone know if this was a Rock a Little demo?

I have it on a CD I bought on ebay. It's thrown in the middle of Stevie's earliest demos from the BN days. Talk about a goldfish out of water.

Stevie's not even on it, and from what I hear from many Prince fanatics, it ain't a Prince song, either. ;)

What do you mean Stevie is not on it. It sounds to me like she is especially during the "all over you" parts and the cheesy "uh" "uh" parts.

I'm going to be rather lazy and quote my thoughts on the matter, from the Stevie & Prince thread: Originally posted by trackaghost
What makes you think it's not authentic Johnny? Originally posted by Johnny Stew
It doesn't sound enough like Stevie to convince me.
To my ears, it sounds like someone whose voice bears a passing resemblence to Stevie's, and that's the extent of it.
Plus, the discussion at the beginning seems contrived:
1st male voice: "Now why don't you sing on this?"
2nd male voice: "Oh, that'd be great!"
Female voice: "OK!"
1st male voice: "We want a girl's sound on this."

It sounds like her to me, but who knows? :: shrugs ::

It's Stevie on All Over You. What is so unbelievable or crazy about her and Prince demoing a bad song? They spent time together.
It is definitely not Stevie on Do I Bring You Down. The song is a blatant copy that a Stevie fan somehow spliced onto a demo reel.

Now I have to go put on Belladonna to clean out my ear palate. What was she thinking?
