I have noticed more and more artists are releasing their VH-1 Storytellers performance on dvd (the latest one being Sarah McLachlan) eben though the performances are now over 5 years old.
Back in 1998 there were rumours that an extended version of Stevie's Storytellers was going to be aired or possibly released on video/dvd but of course nothing happened. Does anyone know if this could still happen? Is it time for a petition, anyone???

It'll probably never happen, but heres hoping... :(
IF they ever get around to it, they should also release Stevie and FM's Behind the Music in a double pack like they did with the Go-Gos and Bangles... But again, someone in charge would have to be in possession of half a brain...

Neal-
Gawd isn't that the truth??????????? For years I have been supplied with and endless string of opportunities to ask myself why I am smarter than every single professional ever hired to do any publicity or marketing for Stevie or the Mac. And with the timing, originality and fanfare around the relaese of the Peacekeeper video I was comforted in knowing that indeed NOTHING EVER CHANGES.

Well, I'd love for them to release the uncut Storytellers, but they never will. The bootleg is quite unwatchable, IMO. :(

I didn't know there was a boot for that-what other songs are on it-and why is it unwatchable? Any good moments (songs or commentary/talking) on it?
Thanks! Ricoh

Yeah, someone got ahold of it but it got traded so much that the quality is unbelievably awful. It's so bad that it isn't even in color.
The screen is split into four-quarters, showing different angles and close-ups. She sang Dreams twice, Rhiannon twice, Landslide twice, and Stand Back twice. She also did songs that were cut from the show: Sleeping Angel, Garbo, Rose Garden, and Gold Dust Woman. She also fooled around on the piano and did about a minute of Sara.
Someone from the audience asked about some demos and she wasn't too thrilled. ;)
