View Full Version : Fleetwood Mac - The Movie

So, if there was ever a movie made about them who would play them? Imagine like a 'Judy Garland - Me & My Shadows' type of thing...'tell-all'...oh if only.

Include Pre-Rumours, Rumours, and Post Rumours line-ups. This would be the full story.

Simple, Stevie should be played by Meg Ryan, Jay Leno playes John, and Marisa Tomei will be anyone, doesn't matter.

It's always bugged me, but I think Julia Roberts would make a great Stevie-TUSK era? Like, I see a tiny resemblance between her, and Stevie in the Sara Video:confused: Maybe it's just me

I don't know about all of the members of the Mac, but I think Viggo Mortensen from "The Lord of the Rings" movies would make a great Lindsey! I think he plays in a band too, if I'm not mistaken. Go to this website (http://www.allstarz.org/viggo/pictures.htm) for a picture of Viggo.

I've been watching the "Wings" re-runs on Nick@Nite and I think Crystal Bernard would make a great Stevie.

LOL....I had to do a double take there.

I still don't know who I'd cast in main roles but I know that Sharon Celani would be played by Angelica Houston. Yep. :nod:

Oh now that is just hilarous! :laugh: But strangely enough I think that Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) would fit the older Stevie role perfectly!

Renee Zellweger might make a good Stevie. Lindsey should be played by Paul Rudd (the guy from Clueless), Christine should be Cate Blanchette, and the jury is still out for John and Mick.

Lindsey- Elijah Wood (It's ALL about the killer blue eyes and high cheekbones, people)
Stevie- Alicia Silverstone
Chris- Cate Blanchette (sp)
As for John and Mick, I have no clue.

Btw, the guy who plays Steven on That 70's Show could play Bob Welch... He has the look, aviator glasses and all! :D

Don't know about the rest of them, but Lindsey would have to be played by a British actor (we do pretty good American accents when we have to, look at Catherine Zeta Jones for heavens sakes) called James Frain. He's a link to a picture of him:

Yum yum.

OK, well, try these guys out for the roles......

Lindsey Buckingham - Colin Farrell

Stevie Nicks - Drew Barrymore (some experience there... sniff, sniff....)

John McVie - Keanu Reeves (well, if he grows a beard he could pull it off, John doesn't say much either.... Plus he can play bass too.. :laugh: )

Mick Fleetwood - he could play himself, with his acting skills;) and his wonderful :rolleyes: Star Trek appearance.

Christine McVie - Helen Hunt

Peter Green - Dill from series one of the Osbournes ( the dude that scratched his head a lot)

Bob Welch - Bob Welch.. Nobody can play Bob but himself.. The man is an original :cool: :laugh:

Stevie - Kim Cattrell (Samantha/Sex & the City)

this a fun topic......here's my picks

Chris = Cate Blanchett
Stevie = Maria Bello
Lindsey = Colin Firth
Mick = Jonathan Pryce ....when he was younger and CREEPIER looking like in 1983's "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Maybe he can be de-aged...sort of like reverse engineering or something!! LOL!!
John = ??? I have no idea for John ;-)

Umm...check out Charles Martin Smith here:

I think he could pass for Bob Welch pretty easily.

Here's Bob:
http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/5464_1414A.jpg

And, since I've set the precedent for presenting photographic evidence for my casting choices:

Here's Cate Blanchett for Christine (I know, I said Helen Mirren):

http://www.showbizireland.com/images/stars/dragon-blanchett02.jpg

She could play "young Christine"...and Helen the "older Christine":

Now...Rob Lowe doing his best Law & Order pose:

Slap some brown contacts on her- use your imagination...

Melody Thomas Scott (http://www.geocities.com/nikki_newman_2000/melody/photos.html)

How about Brittany Hodges from Y&R for younger Stevie? (Still looking for a decent pic of her, and she's not a bad singer!)

Stevie = Maria Bello

Good one!

Please, give some photographic evidence for that choice. :nod:

I think Melody Thomas Scott most looked like Stevie, around 1987-1989, when they were wearing similar hairstyles, and similar clothes.

Stevie's "Rooms On Fire" video could have been lifted straight out of a 1989 episode of 'Young And The Restless,' when Nikki would wander her house, in long, red gowns, pining over Victor. :nod:

Mmmm... I still stick with my Elijah/Liddy theory.

http://www.members.aol.com/paleinurshadow/temp/comparrison1.jpg

Da da. That's not the best comparrison, but I see something in Elijah that just reminds me of Lindsey, especially the 1979 to 1993 Lindsey. I think it's the eyes.

Oh, and Animal from the Muppets could easily play Mick :laugh: ;)

01-21-2004, 11:29 PM
I have always thought that Robin Wright Penn would play a good Stevie. Also Gary Sinise for Lindsey. Check out Forrest Gump for both of them or Armageddon for Gary Sinise.

I have no idea for the others. Although I did see someone suggest on another site the guy from Notting Hill, you know, Hugh Grant's lanky roomate for Mick!!!

Just my 2 cents.

She doesn't sing on the show. She's lip sinking(sp).

I guess that would be handy for the movie though. I wouldn't put up with anything but the real Mac stuff for shots where they're performing. :D

Linda Blair has always reminded me of Stevie! The hard part would be for her to pull off late twenties now that she's in her forties, which makes me wonder how far back this "movie" would go? Would it start at the inception of the band in England and all the personel changes they went through to finally discover B/N? Hell, Lindsey and Stevie could have their own story: "The Buckingham/ Nicks Saga" :laugh:

I couldn't find a GREAT picture of him, but if you watch the show (at least today) he really looks like Lindsey IMO. And he sounds like him to.
