As I cannot respond on Micks site to the person that posted his experience with Todd Davey, I wanted to open it here. He shared that he paid and never received anything for his money, others shared some experiences, and I wanted to add mine.

The first time that I paid him, I received the dvds, two of them, within an acceptable period of time. Nothing to rave about, like three or four weeks, but, acceptable. Paid for four more and played hell getting them and finally had to raise hell to get money refunded for two of them.

What has happened with you guys and your orders with Todd Davey, and if you have been scammed, here is the place to share it and stop him. If he has taken care of you, here is the place to praise him. I am skeptical, with good reason, of his whole practice. He sent an email this time around saying that he had his act together basically...does he?

I ordered a show early on and received it within a few weeks. I think he was overwhelmed by the ensuing demand. His DVD appears to have been created on one of those home DVD recorders, which can only record in real time. So I'd imagine the demand far exceeded what the recorder could output.

Thanks for sharing that Daniel. He told me that he had someone helping him do the dvds, I think, and that they were behind. I was surprised to see the negative remarks as I cannot imagine anyone wanting to be on that hot plate again, he took a good burn before...but, the comments on Micks site from someone who feels that they have really been taken for a ride made me wonder. I know that I won't buy again, I even received blank dvds from him, nothing on them at all. I just marked them return to sender. We had a time of it and I am glad that I got my money back. They were not cheap dvds, you know? I am really lucky to have a bunch of shows on dvd this go round. Blessed, I think.

I have a couple friends who were ripped off by him. They sent the money for the DVDs and they never arrived and he didn't return emails.

I got into a couple tiffs with him on the board about selling bootlegs and he sent me a nasty PM. I would encourage everyone to stay away from him. His username is radtodd.

just one video (5/9 Washington DC) and received it in a timely manner. I havent ordered any from him since because I have a "reliable" collector from Canada that I trade with for the SYW shows (I have received about 10 of the 25 SYW shows I have on video from North of the border)

But like others, I know of several people who were "ripped off" by Todd.

I bought two from Todd awhile back and they were good shows. One was a duplicate and he was very nice about sending me the correct one. I have ordered another show recently and I am currently waiting for it, a bit longer than I would have liked but he answers my emails and has been very nice to deal with.

I bitched about his posts here and was wondering what happened. It seems like he was just posting a commercial and a lot of people were not happy with his "services." I hope it works out for everyone.

A "Lot" of ppl are saying that he ripped them off over at Micks board. Seems as if he has taken several fans money going back for some time and is sending them all the same stupid emails, been traveling, etc. Does he not realize that we talk and care about what happens to the fans?

I know for a fact he ripped off my friend. She sent him $80 and has received nothing but the run-a-round. This has been going on for 3 months. Buyers beware!

Because I believed in him and was giving him the benefit of the doubt at the time.
I bought two tapes from him earlier in the tour. They were not smooth transactions--as a few reminders had to be sent out, but I did eventually get them and everything was fine.
When he put news of the Madison Square Garden tape out--I immediately sent him a check. That was October.
I've sent out...I don't know--15 or so emails.
Every single time he answered with a different excuse. The last time he wrote he more or less told me how difficult his business is and the money is not always available to send things out (hello? I sent the money months ago!)
Anyway, about the time this original thread was up, I wrote and asked him to either send my tape or send a refund. To date (about two weeks later)...nothing. Not even another email with another creative excuse.
PLEASE don't buy anything from him.
I don't like being ripped off for $20 or so...but I know a lot of you are going to school or whatever...and $20 is a lot, under those circumstances. Don't throw away your money.

From what other fans have said, he is often out of town. Perhaps he used YOUR money to finance one of these excursions. I guess when more unsuspecting fans purchase from him, he can honor his prior sale to you. Honor. He seems to be playing fast and loose with the concept.

I know someone who sells FM/SN boots and he has an incredible collection. He is very reliable and nice. I only bought one from video from him and it was fantastic.

Why would you pay money for a bootleg when you can get it for free?

of a person online who payed for the 9/30/03-New York, NY-MSG video from Todd and she never received it...

So being the "<b>tradin' fool"</b> that I am, I was able to trade for that show and make her a copy...I hope she's pleased.

It is a crying shame that he appears to have so little morals and ethics where this is all concerned. It should not matter if he is broke...he took the money so he is indebted to fill the orders, period. Maybe someone needs to drop a note to a governing authority regarding this?

I hate that so many of you have been burned. The sad thing is that even to trade, someone usually has to buy first, and then they can trade. That is the stark reality of boots. Unfortunately. God bless the ppl who just trade and share. And, also the ones who buy. And, the ones who legitimately sell. Oh well, I guess everyone except Todd, Huh? :o
