Christine to appear at tonight's show? [Archive]

Okay, here's what my other half has just informed me. Capital Radio had a competition this morning to win tickets for tonight's show at Earls Court. The DJ announced that the line-up would include Christine McVie.

This doesn't appear to have been a mistake on the DJ's part. He made a point of indicating that Chris would be there.

I sooooo hope it happens! If not there , when where???? It is only right that Christine makes a visit in her beloved England. :nod:

Well, I won't pretend not to be the teensiest bit jealous as I'm going *tomorrow night*, but I've just sent text messages to all my Firefly friends who are going tonight and the feedback has been a succession of OMG's !!!! LOL! :nod:

If it happens it will be absolutely fan-bloody-tastic!!

You lucky ****** ****ers!!! :D I hope the dj is right. That's going to be one hell of a reunion and concert! :nod: It'll definitely make the long wait worthwhile. Enjoy the show and please do give us all the details here on the Ledge.

OMG! OMG! OMG! This is so awesome! I cannot believe this, it's about time...I hope they record it!!! This is so great...how I wish I could be there. Well it might only be a guest spot - perhaps in the encore or even a walk on stage just to take a bow. Who knows... But, by the end of tonight we'll know if Capital Radio were right... I *hope* they are, I would so like it to happen...

...I'd also like it to happen for the December 10th show at Earl's Court, because I'm going to that one!

I hope it's true... I can't wait to hear what happened!!! It would be great for her to come out and sing Don't Stop and World Turning with the band :)

I agree, that would be awsome! I can't see why she wouldn't or shouldn't perform with them just once. It's not like she'd join them for the rest of the tour (wouldn't that be nice!? :nod: ), she'd just sing the songs that she wrote. Plus, it could potentialy be a good spot to promote her upcoming (hopefully) album.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but apart from the fact that neither Christine McVie nor Peter Green attended* tonight's show (let alone perform!:rolleyes: ), "Goodbye Baby" was dropped from the setlist apparently "due to time constraints". The two ex-members of the band weren't even mentioned. No dedications, no tributes, nothing.

Other than that, the show was absolutely fantastic, as usual. I need to go and get some sleep now, refresh myself for tomorrow night! Front row seat directly in front of the greatest guitarist EVER....:)

I certainly hope this isn't a permanent change!! They've played what, like over 80 shows with Goodbye Baby at the end and they only had that one issue in Lubbock I believe where they had to take off by a certain time? Why would that be an issue considering they are playing in London tomorrow night as well and would not be flying anywhere after the show.

My apologies for the false information, although it was received third hand (and via a radio DJ). I'll put more of a health warning on my announcements next time!

Doesn't rule out a possible Christine appearance at any of the other shows though.

Oh, and the gig was excellent by the way. But you all knew that :)

It's not to do with where they are playing the next night, but to do with the licensing restrictions that Earl's Court are under. If they go over the time specified on the licence for entertainment to finish, then the venue can be prosecuted.... or have their licence revoked.

Peter Green was there on Sunday. And I'm told Christine will be there on the 10th for their final show

Also as well as time constraints on Saturday night Stevie's Dad was also ill which was why Goodbye Baby was dropped

The same thing happened here when FM came to El Paso...some DJ announced to everyone that Christine was joining them for the show...

I was like...yeah right...in El Paso Texas....whatever....hahaha...BUT I can see where the info would be more likely to be correct in the UK....sorry it didn't happen..

We were discussing all the shows I've attended...he asked me if I was coming on the 10th, I said unfortunately not, he said, and I quote, "Aww, that's too bad, you're going to miss a good one." I said, "Yeah, I heard the rumour...if I'd known about it earlier, I would have re-planned my trip." He then said that they had rehearsals planned w/ Chris.
