Steal your heart away. LB performed it at his PBS show and it should be quite easy for Stevie to do her part...

Any other guesses out there?

:wavey:

I'm hoping that they do Thrown Down:nod:

I have an unsupported feeling think Stevie will be singing lead because she is the more visible singer from a marketing point of view. So, I say they probably will sing SYW, even though I want them to do TD. Having said that, if they haul out and do Landslide to appeal to the populus, I am going to throw foam bricks at the t.v.

Also, I wonder if they are flying back for this. I know we speculated they may be flying back - but I am uncertain if we know for sure, etc. So, we shall see!!!!!

Wouldn't it be cool if they did it as a duet? I know it will never happen - but I can always dream!!!!

I think Say You Will, but I hope for Thrown Down. I actually like SYHA better than TD, but I think TD might be better for this kind of thing. However, as I said, I bet we get Say You Will. :(

If not SYW, then Peacekeeper.

I think that it'll be Peacekeeper, because it's sort of a "duet." featuring both of them. Long shot - but if they want to do a "duet," Say Goodbye would be great. It sounds so fantastic live! Boring for TV though probably.

My vote goes for Say You Will too...for reasons already mentioned - something Stevie sings lead on - and they're comfortable playing it live.

However, Thrown Down or SYHA would be nice - but I really like Chris' vocals on SYHA and I'd miss 'em.

I will guess "Beautiful Child"...If not "Beautiful Child" then I say "Thrown Down".

Peacekeeper. How many times to I have to tell you, people? Remember, these shows tend to look back, not ahead or even at the present.

Peacekeeper - This is an awards show, and they celebrate music from the past year.

I agree to an extent, but then I harken back to LB's riveting and diverse PBS Soundstage choices. That too was for public broadcast and sales. But, we have yet to see the final edited version. So, I agree it will, sadly, be Peacekeeper or SYW.

I don't think it was done to help sales at all. If it was, he wouldn't have done half the **** he did. ;)

My vote is for Peacekeeper, even though it should be Beautiful Child. :D

I agree - I was saying LB loves to do "crazy in the suits' eyes" songs (e.g. non-hits), but he did enough hits in that PBS set and had Stevie on there long enough so the final edited product will inclkude her for two songs and will be all "commercial" songs (Trouble, Peacekeeper, GYOW, Big Love, Go Insane, etc.) with perhaps one obscure song like Murrow or Red Rover.

But, you never know . . .

probably SYW simply b/c all the "non-obsessive" fans will then know which record to go buy if they happen to like the song.

It's gotta be something new....we all know how FM hates to be a nostlagia act. If they were to do "Rhiannon", "Landslide', or "Go Your own Way" what would people think?! *These guys only have the oldie hits to offer....ahhh nothing new or exciting from them. And they're up for an AMA? WTF!!!* It'd be foolish for them to perform an old song. With that being said, I think they'll opt for a newbie performed on the tour, and it will be "Say Goodbye"!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :)

I think it will be either SYW or a medley like they did at the Grammies, one minute of each song so nothing ever builds to any emotional climax but no egos are hurt that one of them got to sing lead.

Another bet for it probably being Peacekeeper because it's got the BN duet thing going on (let's hope to the gods that the mike levels are right this time, as opposed to Leno), plus it's been released in the UK atm, so from a commercial point of view (assuming that the AMAs are probably broadcast in the UK; they are here) it's a surefire. They haven't had a chance to guage public reaction to a live performance of either Thrown Down or SYHA (you know, except for the rabid fans at the Soundstage, which isn't a very telling indicator for them), so they'll go with what they know.
Unfortunately.
But better Peacekeeper than SYW. I like both songs but the former translates much better live, I think most of us would agree.
But WHATEVER they sing - I just hope they look like they're enjoying it!!

yeah, I'd say Lindsey would have vetoed that suggestion straight away. They would *not* fly back to the States to perform Rhiannon or something. Hah, could you just imagine Lindsey's expression if a WB PR guy or someone suggested that. ;)

Ah Joe, Say Goodbye. I like your optimism. :)

At the five shows I saw I thought SYW translated much better than Peacekeeper. As for the B/N sound, I think Miranda does it better.

what I saw last night in oberhausen, and the fact that I am CONVINCED that the fact that stevie has more commercial musical appeal then lindsey is an american gotspe, and I wanna win this prediction alone, I'd say HIT IT BOYS! perform Come.

I doubt it will be anything new. It will be something recorded at their concert and then broadcast by satellite

If its new I hope its THROWN DOWN...ya never know...Stevie did FALL FROM GRACE, which was a long shot at the 2001 Blockbuster Awards...and it wasnt the single...

A lot of artists will be doing their new singles that night...Sheryl Crow will be performing "First Cut is the Deepest," her new single...a lot of people DO peform their new songs and/or songs they arent nominated for....BUT I am not going to get my hopes up...I'd rather hear an old song that SYW or PEACEKEEPER tho...so I'm sticking my vote to THROWN DOWN anyway

Just wanted to bump this thread up to remind everyone that the AMA are on tonight. That would be at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. I can't wait for them to perform "Say Goodbye" and take home an AMA!!! However it turns out, it should be interesting to watch.

Oh and also there is an AMA "Red Carpet Party" one hour before the show.....that would be 7 p.m. EST..........on ABC! :D

Please please please.

I know it will never happen, but she ought to haul out in the Gypsy duster now that she has been on national t.v. like four times in less than 8 months in the SAME black dress!!!!! AND the only reason she dd not wear the black dess for the Today Show was it was too cold.

I don't think SYW would be awful, but I think people want to see older rockers rock out. FM needs to stop picking songs that could just as easily be performed from rocking chairs on Stevie's front porch.

OOOOOh I HOPE they do Steal Your Heart Away!!!!
*fingers and toes crossed*
:blob1::blob2::]

It's totally Lindsey's turn to have the spotlight, IMO. America needs to be reminded, even if it's just for a few bars of music, that Lindsey Buckingham is underrated. SYHA is such a gorgeous song that could appeal to millions of people. If Christine were still in the band and they did one of her songs, Stevie wouldn't have the spotlight but would still have a strong presence in the performance with her amazing harmonies. If they do SYHA, it'll be even better than that for Stevie. It's such a romantic song that she and Linds could have some killer eye contact on top of the killer harmonies and steal the nation's hearts (away:D). Remember how marketable their chemistry is ;)!!

as long as their performance is at the beginning of this waste of space <b><i>"awards"</i></b> show, I'll be happy (Say, Like within 5 minutes of it starting!!!)...

I would rather watch "C-Span" for 72 hours non-stop & then have a lobotomy performed afterwards (Because if I have to sit through more than 2 hours to see FM perform I will be <b>"Braindead"</b>, So no use wasting that space!!!) than have to sit through anymore of this "Lameass" pre-show!!! Even the commercials seem more interesting thus far!!!!
