Some information about Frankfurt:
For all of us worrying about further cancellation- first of all the show took place. :) I just saw a report in the Germanwide ZDF "Mittagsmagazin" on TV. They showed a few seconds of "The chain" and a few seconds of "Dreams". Stevie was in a black funeral dress, LB in a white shirt. No new song was particularly mentioned, but of course the new album. Additionally they had a LB interview of a few seconds where nothing new was told. (growing, being adults and so on) For no reason (except the ZDF having some material in the archive) they mixed the report with a few seconds of the last show in Germany where BBurnett was performing "Don't stop". :distress:
After the show they interviewed some spectators. The response was quite good. Except of one crappy cheek-pouch-head of ca 45 years who also was happy but said something like "the old songs, they are great, that`s what makes things going". I guess "in-the-past-livers" like that are the reason why they still do the Rumours and 70`s revival tour, instead of taking Neil Young or Lou Reed as an example for performing and promoting new stuff. But that's a different thread I think. So I cannot provide you information about the setlist, but at least we know that the European tour has indeed started. The report was quite positive, the moderator said, they were powerful on stage although they are in their fifties and sixties. Perhaps it will help selling tickets for the other shows. CU, Stefan

I just got a call from my friend who was at the show last night. Same set list. She saw the last couple US shows here and commented that the band seemed more refreshed onstage.
I'm not surprised the setlist wasn't changed... I remember reading an interview with Stevie at the beginning of the 2nd leg that said they would not likely be changing anything until the start of a 3rd US leg next year, so they would have more time to rehearse the new stuff. Glad to hear the band made it there well and the concert went great... if anyone else went to the show and can give anymore details, feel free to post!! ;) Thanks Stefan and Tiff :)

I was in Frankfurt, security got my digital camera away from me. No profesional cameras and no digital ones. You can try to get one in, but they were quite tight with the security in Frankfurt. I got the camera back after the concert.

Were people allowed to touch Lindsey's guitar, were they allowed up against the stage and how was the front row???

I do worry about whether this will be allowed to happen here in the UK. From what I can see on the virtual online tour and from memory of previous gigs the venues have a barrier which is a few feet away from the stage. So the front row people wouldn't be right up against the stage like in the US. The only way to play Lindseys guitar would be if he jumped down from the stage and approach the barrier

I was in Frankfurt on Sunday.
Same setlist as usual
Venue only half filled (approx. 6,000)
35 min of bad sound, Rhiannon was the first song sounding pretty "normal"
I guess the band was pretty nervous for the 1st concert in Europe, it was getting better after a while
"Come" was the "icebreaker" then the audience felt better and was more active
The middle part with all the slow songs was great, especially "Landslide"
My Highlights: Landslide, Gold Dust Woman, Go your own Way
People were shaking hands with Stevie and Lindsey and also touching his guitar while he was playing his solo
I also saw a lot of digital cameras and mobiles with integrated digital cameras.
The band was in a pretty good shape for the first concert and enjoyed it really after a short "warm up phase" with the german audience.
I enjoyed it too, it was my second FM concert including the disappointing show in 1980 (Kaiserslautern/Germany at the Betzenberg Football Stadium together with Bob Marley).

I too saw the Tusk Tour at Madison Square Garden but fro what I can remember they were rockin. WHat happened at your show in Germany in 1980 that was dissapointing.

My thoughts exactly...From looking at the virtual tours online, the Birmingham stage is the only one that looks vaguely like the American ones and could easily be accessed by the front row. The Manchester stage looks like it has a good 1 or 2 metre length barrier in front of it...but...if they really wanted the first row to be able to interact with Lindsey I guess they could have one part of it sectioned off (e.g. so only people with front row wrist tags can come up close). The one I'm most curious/worried about is Earls Court: the stage is a good 4 or 5 metres (at least) above the ground of the front row and also slightly slanted backwards (so that the people in the front row can see!), making it physically impossible to touch anyone or anything on the stage.
So...as you said Pip, (at least for Earls Court) unless they have a massive structural change of the stage, the only way people could play Lindsey's guitar is if he jumped off the stage with his guitar 5 metres down onto the ground and carried on playing in the front row.
I would say that is the very definition of a "Kodak moment"....lol!!!:nod:

There was no enthusiasm by playing the songs especially from TUSK, they didn't get in touch with the audience and a miserable sound, too.
That's what I remember from this concert.
But I gave them a second chance and they made it :D

It's standard for most UK venues to have that barrier... I would be surprised if it wasn't there. I don't think Lindsey will be wanting to jump down there either unless he's intending on taking out a few press photographers and venue personnel. ;)

Having said that... most photo passes over here in England are first three songs only now, so if he wants to jump down during GYOW it shouldn't be too crowded.

Or you can always hide it safely (if you're a gal) in the chest region...they never searched me there, lol! ;)

Thanks, it took a few hours waiting outside the arena to get in first, but it wasn't as hard as I had thought!
Yeah, I feel sorry for you guys if there'll be barriers... :(
