Peacekeeper Remix ---
*BBC Radio 2 is reporting the release of a new remix for Peacekeeper, in promotion of Mac's upcoming tour of the UK. The track, set for release on November 24th in the UK, will be remixed by dance duo Tin Tin Out (Darren Stokes & Lindsay Edwards).
Did anyone else hear about this? I looked on the BBC Radio 2 website, but couldn't find the info. But I assume this is true.

I think it is... But what I don't understand is why they are releasing this now in the UK? I understood the thinking behind releasing a song called Peacekeeper in the States at that time, but now it seems silly - especially when there are, imo, better songs to release as singles.

okay, i'm volunteering to buy a copy in it's release week in the UK and help it peak nicely in the chart.

I think i can safely say im sad enough to buy more than one copy!!
Especially as in the UK at the moment you only need under 10,000 copies sold to make the top 10

Has anyone hear it yet???? Dying to know what it's like!!!
Of those singles being released the same week. The only one as far as I've heard that kicks some serious butt is the new No Doubt...They cover Talk Talk from the 80's and it's excellent!
Michael Jacksons song actually is a ballad and isn't anything to write home about. The others - who knows.

the fact that you donnow some of those acts or tracks doesn't make them less top 20 material :(
(for example, Will Young is Ryan Malcolm in canadian)

Well of the songs released that week I think these will all go top 20:
Kelly Clarkson (maybe depends on the promo)
Delta Goodrem (Its a bit of a bore, not the greatest choice of single, hopefully will do well, as im a big fan)
Michael Jackson (not heard, but fanbase alone will propel it top 20)
Iron Maiden (will probably go top 10 and then drop bigtime the following week)
Alicia Keys
Muse
No Doubt
S Club 8
Will Young
Very tough week indeed, but with sales so so so so low at the moment, if every fan in the UK bought a copy it would definitely go top 20

so... would you care to inform us how it sounds???
and another thing, since the majority of people here are americans, and seem eager to get the single, AND help it do well, i suggest that instead of ordering it as imports, they could just pay for brits (or tourists there while that week;) ) to buy them a copy in a chart eligable store, and help the single peak as high as it deserves to.
like Mike said, it's not that hard to crack the british chart these days, and we can all lend a hand.
all the european charts and radio playlists are eying the british top 20 and are reflected from it, i think it is HIGHLY important to give a little push there.
i'm offering my help to anyone who wants me to buy him/her a copy in the UK at the relevant week. if we all work together, we could help improve it's chart position.

Well the version I heard mnust have been the album version because it sounded the same.
And I would be more than happy to pick up copies for folks but I would need to be paid up front cause money is tight since my hubby lost his job :)

Thanks for the tip-off Pip. OK I'm very keen to hear this too, so I'm listening to BBC live via RealPlayer. Anyone with RealPlayer or Windows Media Player should be able to stream this channel.
According to the channel's website, Peacekeeper will be played around 20 times per week (for as long as it remains in the high-rotation play category). So those are pretty good odds.
Hmm I haven't listened to radio in many years - I like what they're playing at the moment. I should listen more.

I only listen to radio 2 nowadays. They play some great music. Do you get to listen to it live Joe? Or is there a delay?

Notice what I said tommer? This doesn't mean that the others aren't worthy of top 20, I was simply saying that AS FAR AS I'VE HEARD the ones deserving are.....:)

Amen to that...!
By the time the single is released in the shops, Christy will be here for the UK shows, so between us I think we'll probably clear out all copies of the single in the HMV's and Virgins in central London.:D:nod:

Does anyone know what the tracklist will be for the single?
I'm guessing that it'll include the album version of "Peacekeeper" and/or "Smile At You"...

given the uk charts at the mo, i cant see PK doin that well, im sure itl have a fairly high entry tho i doubt itl make top10, but for starters it doesnt look like there'll be a video so i doubt it'l be played on many uk music progs (namely TOTPs) which play a huge part these days in determining chart position. If anything i reckon itl help boost sales of say you will.

Maybe while they are there, they will do press promos. If so, Graham Norton MUST interview them, esp. Stevie. Can't you imagine what he would pull up on the internet for her like he does for all the other stars!!!!

I have gotten SO hooked on Graham. It would be great fun to see them on there. William Shatner was on the other night and Graham even managed to make him funny.

Yeah, I have paypal
Willing to sort out singles for anyone who wants one :)
Just e mail me nearer the time and I will sort something out
I can buy up copies in Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington, Widnes, wigan, Bolton, Manchester, Birmingham etc u get my drift ;)
I can bet you Woolworths, WHsmiths and Asda etc will not be selling the single, I would guess only HMV and Virgin would be selling it, so it may be hard to come by as not every town has a hmv
They MUST do TOTP
Seriously though if they do the TV rounds, and all us loony fans snap up the single, i should enter quite high :)

Yep, not only have I heard it, I have it! Found a promo of it today. Do I like it? Well... so-so...
It's not that different from the original version, it's got a dancy beat now, but not too and the oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh's are different (just Lindsey in his "normal" voice).
