So this is a pointless little anecdote....just thought I'd post it...

I was eating at Red Lobster recently with my boyfriend and his family...and Stevie and Kenny Loggins come on the radio..and I'm like...'Oh yea! It's Stevie!" and my boyfriend's aunt is like, "No it's not...I've never heard this song before." And so I stand firm...since I know I'm right and finally she realizes that it is, in fact, Stevie...

Okay..also our waitress - her name was Rhiannon, she introduced herself and my boyfriend's mom was like, "oh Rhiannon, what a nice name." the waitress says, "it's a Fleetwood Mac song..." Okay, so I'm thinking this chicks okay, right?

Well, after Stevie and Kenny a Beatles song came on..THEN a crappy cover of Dreams comes on...and I'm like, "ugh...sucky" and my boyfriend's mom says, "Who IS this!?!" the waitress comes back and says, "it's Stevie Nicks." I say, "No, this is not Stevie Nicks." And the girl starts arguing with me!!!! I say, "This IS a Fleetwood Mac song that Stevie does sing...BUT this particular version is a cover and is NOT Stevie."

It was SOO obvious it wasn't her..even my boyfriend's aunt could tell that...anyway...after that I couldn't help but feel that the waitress was a disgrace to the name Rhiannon :)

Okay...pointless..and a bit long winded...but I'm really trying to kill time before my next class starts :)

Your story reminded me of my argument with my roomate over whose song Landslide was, Stevies or the Dixie Chicks, even when I pionted out that Stevie wrote the song thirty years prior my roomate argued that it was still a Dixie Chick song :distress: Go Figure! Of course she was also the roomate that routinly dissed my fav city of San Francisco, so what does she know.

BTW was the Dreams cover by the Corrs, I actually do like thier cover, just not as much as the Macs version, but then again I rearly like covers better then origionals.

It actually was the Coors....and I don't have anything against them, I just really am not into covers...they have to really be done right and by someone I respect lol...I'm very weird when it comes to covers.....but yeah....it was them :)

I meant to say on the last line that I don't often like covers, or something like that. I like the Corrs version mostly b/c it was a song that made me go listen to the Mac b/c I said to my dad "this sounds familar, and he told me to go listen to the origional, on either the Dance or Rumors as we have both.

I got into an argument w/ this stupid beeyotch who kept insisting that Stevie made an appearance on the A-Team!?! I bet her $50, found an A-Team tribute website, e-mailed the webmaster, who confirmed what WE already know, and the dumb chick never paid up.

Some people are so dense...

Stevie appearing on the A-Team? My God, I would have laughed in her face. It's actually pretty funny to picture though, Stevie and Mr. T having a dialogue (I hope I have the right show in mind).

That reminds me of the time I got my senior pictures taken.

The photographer tried to tell me that Stevie used to sing with Starship.

Rather than get into a debate about it, I just said "Oh really?"

The funny thing is, the SAME photographer said the SAME thing to Johnny Stew...only over ten years earlier!

It was lucky that photographer didn't say that to me I would have ended up in a MAJOR argument with him, mind you I did have my own misconceptions about the Starships Sara coming before Stevie's Sara, but that's excusable for an 8yr old who just thinks that b/c Grace is ten yrs older then Stevie. Perhaps this was the photographers problem, getting the two songs mixed up. Naturally my dad love teasing me about this misconception:o

i used to work at a dollar store...and at night, when my boss wasnt there, i could listen to cds instead of the crappy country music they always made me hear...
and once when i was playing fleetwood mac, a customer was telling me how much she loved them & how she & her husband had named their daughter rhiannon because they loved the song so much...
i thought it was really cool. :D thats the end, thats all i have to say...
