Okay, we all know I Cain't Wait is a very cool song (aside from the 80's pop sound);) on the album... but there are some pretty cool live versions... My votes live

I think, like Seven Wonders, that the energy just couldn't be captured outside of the studio. I think BOTH of these songs she said she took the first take because they were the most powerful and she couldn't capture the energy again. I know she said that about Seven Wonders...that she did it many times but couldn't catch it like the first time. This is why I don't mind Seven Wonders not being in the setlist for the SYW concert. And, I've heard some live versions of I Can't Wait, and they're not bad, but nothing like the album version imo.

Funny you should talk about Seven Wonders:) I just listened to a complication i had made, (don't know what show) but I asked the trader to give me the best version of Seven Wonders, and It sounded almost just like the studio... for people you say that the Cow Palace Video performance sucked (which I think it did), you should here this version... I'll look for it. It's great.

I Can't Wait could have been a great song in concert...but she only performed it at one of the worst times in her life, the Rock A Little tour. Her vocals were really terrible and her phrasing was off then. I haven't heard a live performance that does justice to that song.

I agree with you on that, but I mean, there are a few good versions. I thought, if she was in tune, and had the right words, in the RAL tour, her vocals were kinda cool, the extra scratchy;)

Some fans hate her raggedy Rock a Little singing, but other fans love it. I was completely happy with the "I Can't Wait" performances in San Diego, L.A., Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Mountain View, & even New York City & Landover.

We fans sure do run the gamut in terms of our preferences.

Yep, that Pacific Amphitheatre (Costa Mesa) performance was great...UNTIL her "break" during Waddy's overly long guitar solo before "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around"...after that, the set went downhill faster than an avalanche on Mt. Everest.

I think the best RAL performance is the Iowa City one in the first month of the tour. I have the vid and it is AMAZING. During I Can't Wait, she does the same dance that's in the music video and the hand movements and everything. When she done belting it out, she says to the audience "That's a HARD song to sing!!" and then laughs. If you want to hear a great RAL era performance, track down the vid or the audio, it's GRRRREAT!

They were all essentially the same musically, but on some nights the lead singer was a little more committed. Same goes for "Has Anyone" at that time: some nights were hushed & moving, & other nights were slightly dull.

Of the two nights of "Has Anyone" in Los Angeles, I preferred the first -- just by virtue of a single phrase in a stanza ("in all your darkest hours"). Sometimes, that's all it takes to prefer one over another.

Same for me, but only because it was a total surprise...I knew it was coming the next night.

But, still the trio of...

Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
I Loved Another Woman
Brown Eyes

...is the best three song string I've ever heard Fleetwood Mac perform.
