I found the Penguin back in 1997 when I was trying to catch up on these strange people I heard since I was a teen but only appreciated with the emergence of the Dance.
The Penguin was my source. For everything. I must have printed out every single article on the Blue Letter Archives and lived vicariously through all the reviews for the Dance and later, Enchanted, until I saw my first concerts myself.
I've looked for lyrics--seen what's out there are far as recordings, and Lord only knows I spent years on the Ledge "meeting" some of the nicest people I've ever known (and meeting them in real life, too!)
It never would have happened without this place so thank you so much, Marty and Lis, for bringing it all back.

When I discovered Fleetwood Mac back in 1998 (I know, I'm a late bloomer) The Penguin/The Ledge was the place that taught me all I needed to know. I'm so glad to have it back!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! for coming back to us. I rarely if ever post, but I lurk on an every day basis. This is the place to know anything and everything about FM! I am so grateful to you, because without this site I wouldn't know half the things I do know about FM. When I first became a fan in '97, I didn't know that there were other people who felt the same way I did about SnL's performance of Silver Springs on The Dance. I soon learned I wasn't the only one! It's been one hell of a learning experience and I truly appreciate your efforts.:)

I was extremely upset when I heard the rumours that it had been permanently shut down. I've met some people here who are now some of my closest friends, and have made many, many, many other "cyber-buddies" aswell, all thanks to The Ledge. In fact, I feel that my enjoyment of the music of Fleetwood Mac wouldn't even be half as great as it is now if it wasn't for The Penguin/The Ledge (for too many reasons, I couldn't even begin to list!).

I may not come to this site or listen to as much Fleetwood Mac as I used to. However, and I hope you read these messages, I have always understood the relevance of your site in the scheme of other sites - both official and non-official.

In fact, with all the information and service you provide (FOR FREE!!), I think it a rather an understatement to refer to you 'site' as a 'site'. It's more of on-line library or community resource centre.

As someone who was angered by Fleetwood's decision to revoke your presentation appointement and equally disheartened with the outrageous fan club fees (for such little return) - there is one thing that comes shining through..and that's 'The Penguin'.

How amusing it will be to get a 'resubscribe to the fan club' email next year.

From now on, all the spare change in my payapl account will go to you Marty and Lisa for all the dedication and hard work you've done - AND for the new strategic goal of becoming the most up to date site there is.

I applaud you.

This is by far the best fan site on the net! If it shuts down I'm through with the band. FM was crazy not to make this their official site, but that's their loss. Thanks, Marty, for keeping on. I wouldn't have done it if I were you. After being dismissed out of hand, I would have lost all desire. I totally understand. I know it's not sour grapes, either. Afterall, you've spent your hard earned money and eons of precious time promoting a band that cares less about their fans than you do. The way they've allowed the official site and fan club to operate proves that point. They see fans as cash cows, but you are one of us. They've had years of free publicity and good will in the fan community thanks to you. You are one of us and I salute you. Fans who refuse to visit that joke called the official site still have a place to call home. Hooray! Thank you and Lisa, both!

I’ve been a visitor to The Penguin for a while now. I know a job well done when I see it, and your site is a perfect example. I cant imagine the time, and costs incurred by keeping a site like yours running, but it had to come from your heart. Patti is right. Votes of confidence and putting out the welcome mat is nice but you have to put your money where your mouth is. A few dollars every now and and then will go a long way to helping their new strategic goal and the general maintenance of this site.
