Out of these songs which do you prefer?

I can't chose between No Spoken Word, or Some Become Strangers. (probably NSW)

"No Spoken Word" and "Imperial Hotel" are both my favorites, but NSW has a slight edge. I also love "The Nightmare" and "Sister Honey."

No Spoken Word. When I first heard this song on the Red Rocks video I thought it just rocked and I still do.

One of the best lines in the song!!

It's funny that this poll is going on now, because I just dug my CD of "Rock a Little" out of the mothballs over the weekend and have been listening to it a lot.
It's not one of my favorite Stevie albums, but it's good for when you need a little pick-me-up or when you're in a wild mood.
Anyway, the song I've been getting into this time around is "Some Become Strangers," so that's what I voted for. Interesting track, although the ending is sort of weird and anticlimactic.

Actually, if this were a "vote one off" poll, the only one I could in clear conscience vote off would be "Imperial Hotel". The rest are just TOO good.

EDIT: I take that back, "Rock A Little" would also have to go.

The song Rock A Little would have been higher on my list if it wasn't the album version but the original mix version that showed up on obscure Candian single b-sides and wherever else. Her vocal is entirely different and more up front; it has a stronger drum beat; and the background vocals are not buried in the mix. And the ending is much better -- after she sings "That is how songs are written, stories are told, rumours are started..." Lori and Sharon come in strong and repeat the line. Very cool!

I voted for Rock A Little. However, an interesting fact is that my friend and I met the guy who either wrote or co-wrote (I can't remember) Some Become Strangers at the FM MSG show the other week. Random fact.

I voted for Imperial Hotel, but No Spoken Word is great, too.

I know a lot fans enjoyed RAL, and I say this with all due respect, but hell man, what a mess! Any chance Jimmy Iovine will ever produce another Stevie Nicks album?

No Spoken Word!!! all the way...she should have released this song...here in Denver...they played this song all the time on the radio...back in the day when FM rock radio would play album tracks.

Any chance Jimmy Iovine will ever produce another Stevie Nicks album?

I think that would be a BIG F A T NO!!!....especially since Jimmy is a big record mogul now at Interscope, making big big bucks involved in the careers of artists like Eminem & 50 cent of all people!!....

Although I loved Stevie and Jimmy's collaborations on BD & WH especially...I think that was a time and place that will never be again.....

I always wonder what RAL would have been like if Stevie and Jimmy didnt have their falling out.....I think it would have been a rock classic...w/Reconsider me...Imperial hotel and who knows what else.....instead it became an electric jolt of frenetic energy...which was exciting at the time....but hasnt aged well in spite of itself....

I remember that time very well....impatiently waiting for RAL....which was suppose to be released the fall of 84'...but Stevie shelved most of the recordings w/ Jimmy and a year later we had the RAL we all know and love

I think she also lost a little momentum with that extra year delay....in the meantime...all these new women emerged on the scene changing the musical landscape...most notably Madonna and Cyndi Lauper and the comeback of Tina Turner.

of course, now we know that Stevie at this time was battling personal demons and major addiction problems...she was really combative at this time....and that came through on the RAL album and especially the tour.....That was a EYE popping STEVIE ON THE ROAD....One I will never ever forget....thank god we have it documented w/ the RED ROCKS video...even though they tried to spruce it up

It really did have the potential to be a classic album. It's not like there wasn't any good material. She (and the powers that be) just chose not to use it. But of course, I tend to harp on what could have been had Stevie not partied so hard (file that under the "you can't be a true fan without..." thread  ).

sln-news.info (http://sln-news.info) So, Dan, how does it feel to have a Web site that blows away both the stodgy, pointless Nicks Fix as well as the stultifyingly moronic & atrociously designed Mick Fleetwood site?

I picked "I Can't Wait," but I know a lot of people don't like "If I were You," but I happen to love it!

My vote went for 'Imperial Hotel'- not really a happy story for me...my sister had an awful cocaine problem in 1986-1988 and it just devastated my family and I. In particular, the lyrics to this song seemed to be saying something to me which reminded me of her. Maybe it was the 'He says to her "why do you do it?"' lyric...thank goodness my sister recovered from her own RAL period. Now she's a soccer mom!
but hey...my FAVE RAL song didn't make the ballot... no 'Sister Honey'?? Where else will we ever hear such a freaky-deaky track like that??? Les Dudek's screaming guitar, churning synths and Stevie babbling about jetplanes and starstreams in the same song? Wow! What an album...but then I ALWAYS say that about Rock A Little!!!!

I vote for Imperial Hotel, or, since someone mentioned Eminem, the Imp Ho.

That song really is out of control, and I have always kinda liked it in spite of myself.
The Stevie babble was in full force on RAL. What about at the end of "Some Become Strangers"?
"You're no stranger... Not that I am... (something) Make it matter... So YOU do it... (just like him)... I think that YOU should do it."
