I just wanted to point out that we should all be very grateful that Stevie is such a road warrior and hard worker! Sometimes I just get used to it and take it for granted, but she has toured EVERY album (save FM's package deals) no matter what her size, health, sanity, addictions......she has given us so much and we need to remember that. Though it never seems to be enough because we love her so (which is why we're addicted to bootlegs!), she has put out a lot of songs, and worked really hard (obviously harder than was best for her at times). A lot of people don't tour every album, and some go 5-10 years between tours! Stevie (and FM) has a truly unique connection to her fans that you don't come by very often, if ever. She gives so much of her SELF in her songs (and interviews--unparalled honesty), and it takes a strong person to share so openly. I feel that there is an unspoken demand of respect from us by her, and we should give it to her. She has given us so much respect and given up so much to have an impact on our lives. Needless to say, she has succeeded.

I couldn't agree with you more. I hold that little lady from Arizona in very high regard and she does command my utmost respect. I am really looking forward to next year when they play the 'Barns' of the country. It will be kind of like the old times.

I totally agree too.

Stevie Nicks has just soldiered on through thick and thin, sane and "sanity in question" (lol), high and low; still she is around in the 21st Century. She isnt only "around", but, imo on top form.

Her strength has inspired me, and not only me i would pledge. Infact, every one of her millions of fans has been uniquely inspired by herself, her music, her passages of thought and communication - and her success is totally deserved.

THANKYOU GODESS STEVIE!

Amen...LOL!!

I have to agree with the opening statement...it is all of those reason that I chose to fly to Vegas from the UK on October 5th 2001 just three weeks after 9/11. I thought Stevie deserved that little extra effort on my part as she managed to continue her TISL tour againts the odds......and it was sooooo worth the trip, despite the changing times. :wavey:

Good thread. It is so easy to be complacent and take things for granted. History has proven it true that Stevie is a road warrior! True fans like us are forever grateful that she tours for every album. Granted, Stevie solo and with Fleetwood Mac have not been the most prolific of bands...sometimes with long expanses of time between albums. But we've gotten quality over quantity, and some great memories from their shows. And, I'm glad they haven't gone the insulting and pandering route of The Who, who start every tour pronouncing that this is THE FINAL TOUR (yeah, until the next one!)

We should cherish every bit of their activity. Nothing lasts forever and I just can't imagine the inevitable...a life without Stevie or Fleetwood Mac.

Livia asked the wardrobe mistress about that in Dallas, and she said Stevie had just forgotten the shawl.

As far as Stevie Warrior Princess goes, from Mick's book:

" 'Mick,' she'd say, 'when I joined I hadn't a clue it would be like this. No one told me, and I didn't know Chris and I would be sleeping on amps in the back of trucks. But I've decided that I'm going to make it through, and that no one's going to say, Oh, she can't cope, she should give it up.'
No one ever did say that about Stevie Nicks."

I always thought that was what she was referring to in the song "Juliet" when she says something like "It was way too hard, It was way too tough, on this she had not bargained - she was like some missionary dancing to the beat of some man's ancient drums" and the rest of the song when she goes on seemingly lamenting about getting back out on the road again but she still goes back out on the road again to try to tell her hard to tell story.

"Get some ribbons and some bows...and get back out on the road!"

Yeah, that seems fairly evident that Juliet is about being on the road! That's one of my favorites off the Other Side of The Mirror album. I was lucky enough to see her perform it early on that tour before she dropped it from the set.

I love the line "She consults her book of miracles."

That was a song that almost made it on the Tango in the Night album (Has anyone heard that working version...Stevie at her most shrillist!). Interesting how it become a Tango instrumental b-side called "Book Of Miracles." It would make a good album title!

I always thought the line "And when they were good, they were really good...really good strangers" was about us, the fans in the audience. :D
