I was listening to these today and one take seemed to stand out from the others. Take 11 is the definitive take, IMO. I like how it starts out a little slower and then the tempo builds at toward the end of the song. I like the vocal and this particular mix (less organ, more drums). So if you had your choice, which take would you put on?

Gosh - I love this song!
I have several versions, but I don't know how to distinguish a version recorded in one era from one recorded in another!
I do prefer the more upbeat version of the song for sure. The slower versions seem to drag . . . .

I love the upbeat version with those amazing harmonies. I say that as perfect as Bella Donna was, they could have axed something and put The Dealer in its place. But which song "Aye there is the rub! Poor Stevie, always tharted by the belated advent of CD's!!

I like the take that has the lyric, "Jesse told me at an early age/I could get away" in the chorus. I like that lyric, and Stevie's vocal IMO is the strongest on this take. She also does some bad-ass vamping at the end.

I like the Jesse lyric too. Now those are some stories I'd like to hear.
