Does anyone have abootleg copy of Stevie and Kenny singing this? I think she sang it twicewith him - once in the late 70's o early 80's when it was a hit and once in 1996 in Phoenix. I would LOVE to get a copy of each. My email address is [email protected]

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

WHAAAAAAAT? She sang this live with him in 1996? I never heard about that. That would be very interesting to hear because those eras of her singing/her voice (1978 & 1996) to me seem about as polarized as any- WICYF 1978: very bouyant, perky sound with very high notes and more clarity in her voice than usual-she reminds me of KiKi Dee singing Don't Go Breaking My HeaRT w/ Elton John! 1996 makes me think of Stevie's version of Free Fallin, and deep and throaty and country/western heartbreak sounding, and Somebody Stand By Me, very dirge-like beat and the hard-knocks-life-woman singing and tale-telling.

It just doesn't seem like the '96 voice would fit that '78 song, it would be like Eartha Kitt singing "On Top Of The World" by The Carpenters, weird, but I would love to hear it!

Amen to that!!!!

I read about 1996 performance on www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com (many many kudos to them!!!!!). The excerpt in the History section says:

20th July 1996 - Stevie Nicks appears at the Sharell Club, Phoenix AZ and joined Kenny Loggins onstage to sing their 1978 duet hit "Whenever I Call You Friend."

Ok-so somewhere in the world someone must have a recording of this. I would love to hear it. If there's a "Ledge" for Kenny Loggins (yeah, right!) maybe we could ask there.
