England used to have, and I think still has, a rule that dogs must go through like a six month quarrantine before they can be brought into the country. They also used to enforce this in my opinion silly and medically outdated rule with a vengence. So, what will happen to Stevie's pooches?

I think she will slip them in her bag!!!!! Imagine the irony of all of those years not being busted for drugs and now they haul Stevie away for smuggled Yorkies!!!

I think she'll end up sending them back home to Phoenix, even though she'll miss them. Poor Stevie, those dogs are her kids, but Will, Leelee, Tess and Ruby don't have to be quarantined!

The UK recently changed their 6 month quarantine rule for dogs, but it's still a hassle to get into the country from the USA or Canada with a dog. You have to show proof that the dog has had its worm treatments & rabies shots, and your dog must undergo a blood test, then it has to have a micro chip inserted under it's skin at least 6 months prior to your trip! Oh yeah, they make the dog fly cargo, which can be dangerous for pets.

In that case, I hope she leaves the dogs at home. Poor babies, flying IN CARGO! :distress:

I could be wrong, but I think the dogs must travel in cargo rule applies only to travel on commercial airlines. I would hope they are taking the private Boeing Business Jet to Europe. So, the dogs in theory could stay on the plane, etc., but again, I could be wrong as I have never travelled to England on a private plane!

Forget that! She going to do what she did for the Divas las Vegas show. She'll have the dogs flown in on their own private jet. ;)

She did NOT do that!!! Did she?

She sure did! I almost died when I heard about it. The article said that she requested VH1 to provide the jet, too. Too cute! :D

Holy crap! That totally surprises me--I didn't think she was like THAT...no wonder VH1 only briefly showed her on Divas Live. So she didn't fly with the dogs, they flew alone? Wow, we're getting back to the old school excesses, lol.

Here is a link to an article discussing this.

I think most commercial carriers allow only a limited number of "carry on" pets in the entire passenger cabin depending on the size of the plane (some allow none) and it is usually only one in First Class, where I assume Stevie would be sitting. Also, the animal must be small enough to fit in a container that fits under the seat in front of you, etc., which a Yorkie would appear to be.

Having said that, depending on the type of plane VH-1 rented, which was probably a smaller plane like a GS III or a Lear, it probably actually saved VH-1 money or cost the same as the commercial flight as I am sure Stevie needed at least four first class tickets (one for her, her make-up person, her wardrobe person, etc. - they all travel with an entourage you know). Those tickets would probably be about a total of $20,000 and the private jet rental was about $25,000 if I remember correctly. Moreover, VH-1 could have put additional people on "Stevie's plane" if there was room. So, while Stevie was a Diva about this, it really is not that big of a deal money wise, etc.

Also, the commercial airlines could have been booked.

My $0.02.

Interesting article. So the dogs don't fly commercial, but does she?

And since when does it cost $5,000 a ticket to fly first class from LA to LV? I've flown first class from Atlanta to Jacksonville and it was NOT that much!

Did you see the Anastacia comment about how she didn't seem too fond about Stevie calling the hair salon? Is Stevie really that much of a diva? Maybe not, because would a real diva call her own hair salon??? LOL

Wow. It seems to me that everytime I have paid to fly first class, it has always been at least $2,000 and that is if I book way in advance and am flexible with time, etc.

Also, Stevie may have had to fly back to L.A. that night for a variety of reasons one of which could be to get into the studio!!!!!

Stevie flew in for the performance, and then flew back out, as she was in the middle of recording with Fleetwood Mac at the time.

I don't blame her one bit for insisting that her dogs travel with her. She was a last minute special guest, and would have had to make arrangements for someone else to watch the dogs (since she was in LA recording, and not at home in Phoenix... and since whichever members of her entourage that had gone to LA with her, were probably flying to NY with her as well).
I wouldn't want to leave my dogs with strangers either.

As far as Anastacia... her comment about going from answering Stevie Nicks' calls at a hair salon, to being on the same stage as her, sounded like one of awe, not cattiness.
It seems like Ms. Maddox put that "and not fondly" spin on it, to make it more gossipy and "diva-ish."

From one of the tabs:

Stevie's Diet Dos
Pop songstress Stevie Nicks, 55, stays slim on her current tour with Fleetwood Mac thanks to the high-protein Atkins diet. Stevie, who lost 30 pounds by cutting out carbs, ordered lots of beef, steak and eggs from room service at the St. Regis Hotel in Century City Calif., and gave the leftovers to her dogs staying with her in the $2500-a-night suite.

Those dogs live better than we do.
They must have been very good in their past lives as monks.
