Add another vote to the Silver Girl tally :) It's a pretty weak song considering what Stevie can do...

<i> It was a dozy song,
To vote it off won't take long.
It was a sappy song,
Immersed amongst likeable ones.
We would have preffered
Not Make Believe.
But that's all right...

Hmmm, defintely between "Come", "Red Rover", "Murrow" or the muck that became "Smile at You" once Lindsey destroyed it...
Hmmm,
Ok...
"Red Rover" Oye!
At least Lindsey kept his paws off of "Destiny Rules". Wonder what "Silver Girl" would have been in John Shanks hands...?!

How can anyone hate "Silver Girl," I cannot even believe the massive hate towards the song. Anyway I vote that "Bleed To Love Her" to be voted off. It's almost as if they just stuck on a proven hit to sell an album. It makes me feel as if we were cheated out of a song. Now they should of stuck "Not Make Believe" in BTLH's place.

Well, it would be real easy to go along with the majority here and say "Silver Girl" but honestly, I'd have to cast my vote for
"Running Through The Garden". To me, RTTG sounds like it belongs on a Stevie Nicks solo album not on a Fleetwood Mac album.

I agree with seteca in that it's not AS bad as originally thought, but it's mostly the lyrics I don't like...the music is alright (not terrific, just alright). I think the melody is okay, maybe needs a little kick in the rear a bit, more uptempo. I'm looking at this poll as "What's the WEAKEST song on the album?" That would be SG, IMO.
madformac
07-29-2003, 12:32 PM
I have to agree.
Silver Girl is the weakest track on the album IMO. It's not really that bad at all, it just doesn't sit well on this particular record. It's slow tempo is more suited to Trouble In Shangri-La I feel.
If you ask me, it went on the wrong album.

LMAO!!! That was great! Anyway, I agree that Silver Girl isn't as bad as we thought it was at first. I like the chorus (I think i can hear Sheryl pretty well...) and the last part where she sings it a little differently. Not crazy about the music...I feel like I'm boarding a spaceship or something :D
For me, the first ones to go are "Murrow","Red Rover","Silver Girl",and "BTLH". Why on earth did they put that song on the record when they already did it on The Dance? They certainly didn't improve it any, I like The Dance version much better.
So, I'm going to say "BTLH". Atleast Silver Girl is new.

Bleed to Love Her.
I still don't know why Lindsey put it on SYW. I like the song, just doesn't belong on a new release.

Cool, another song parody. One good turn deserves another.
Why do you drone about Greek gods coming down to earth
You know it just brings me down
It's something I must skip
This song doesn't belong here, I guess it never did
Even holler Family Man in my ear just to keep it so well hid
Anyone at all will find any melody missing
Could hear the enthusiasm dying while the folks at Warner Brothers were sighing
Because Anne Heche's lips you were kissing night after night
Her mother ships were bathed in blue, her gods all bathed in white
Red rover red rover red rover
Anne didn't come didn't come didn't come and now it's over
One of the weak Say You Will songs, one of the few
Now fetch me my ear plugs, is this the best you can do
I bought this album knowing that you usually write well
And there's no more annoying song in heaven or hell
Red rover red rover red rover
I'm waiting I'm waiting I'm waiting for your monotonous chorus to be over
Silver Girl needs a pet. Please send her the red dog on the next vote!
