On my local radio station they said that Mick was 61. I was like what is he not in his late 50's? 56 to be exact if my memory is correct.

Matt :)

I have seen both 1942 & 1947 given as Mick's date of birth. But, Mick says that he was born in 1947. So, unless he's not telling the truth, which is certainly possible, he is 56. He certainly looks ALOT older than 56, in my opinion. Christine will soon turn 60. I can't believe that she is actually older than Mick.:)

I am with you on that. I think that he is quite a bit older than Stevie and I would buy the 1942 a lot easier than 1947 birth year.

Mick has certainly been known to stretch the truth......

There are actually quite a few places that list the 1942 date and many articles recently say he's turning 61, or Fleetwood, 60--things like that.

Did Mick say 1947 verbally, or was it type-written? There could always have been a typo.

Mick was born in 1942 and is now 61. I am constantly amazed at how bad reporters are about getting the correct age of their subject. They can't nail down Lindsey's age to save their life!

I don't think it is the reporters.... Mick is confusing the issue! LOL! I read somewhere (can't remember where) that he has said he is 56 this year. What date does it give in his book?

Well I checked the Penquin Biogarphy and it states that he was born June 24th 1947!!! I don't know where they got their info but that is what they say.

A lot of people fudge their age by five years. Joan Collins has been the same age for, oh 20 years now.

Plastic has a longer shelf life, I suppose.

Just to confuse things, I often see 1945 as his birth year so whatever. :)

I find it hard to believe Mick is only one year older than Stevie.

Well, if Stevie stopped dying her hair...(but didn't she go prematurely gray due to the coke?), and took off her makeup she'd look a bit older.

Not much, but even with that...she's gorgeous. Off topic, as it is.

The Simpsons' calendar my sister has lists it as 1942, as does the Internet Movie Database (us.imdb.com), among others.

At the concert last night they mentioned Micks birthday. Stevie said he was 56 NOT 61 as reported. Lindsey even went so far as to say to the audience that we all believe what ever the computers tell us.I've read in several interviews that Stevie has given where she says that Mick is only a year older. Maybe we'll never know

Hmm, do you think that was a diss? His exact words were "I guess they believe the computers" and I wasn't sure at the time, but now that I think about it, it does sound like one! Unless Mick really IS fudging about his age. Then, it was an acknowledgement that with computers he can't fool anyone anymore!

Leave it to you to remember the exact words from last night. I still have a buzz in my left ear. Nancy did you get any sleep? I got about 3 hours.I wonder if he is trying to fool everybody? Darlene

I have seen in print his birth years as both 1947 and 1942. I think Mick is definitely like some vain starlet who lies about their age. He looks like the oldest member in Mac. I want to say Mick is as old as dirt:laugh:

What makes him seem older?

I mean...you've got to remember all those drug years. I can see him being 56...it's not such a far loop.

That's what I'm thinking. He was an alcoholic and god knows what else right up till about 1992 or so when he met Lynne. (sp?) Also, if he had a full head of hair, and Christine didn't, that would make a difference! (shudder)
I think Stevie's an exception - when you're that naturally attractive you just age better. Lindsey has only started to show his age more recently - around the Dance/GOS time he looked considerably younger!

Just to add my 0.02... my mother saw them back in the late sixties here in England, and she thinks that Mick quite probably is only 56. She was only fifteen at the time she snuck into the club to see them, and remembers him being in his early twenties at the time.

It really shocked her to see them again this month; she wouldn't shut up about how old Mick is looking... I think it made her feel her age. :D
