Thank you, Sarah!!!
Since they're going for June 20th as the impact date, I imagine it's a really great sign that many stations have already been playing it.
At least I hope so! :D

Well, I am a little relieved as this is MUCH better than the one I heard earlier with horrible sound and that appeared to cut off in the middle. PHEW. I think this one sounds really great!!! I also must say "You go on with your bad self John McVie for that bad as# bass line."
Finally, if this does not make it - I am further saddened by the pathetic state of radio.

Sarah, were is your radio station? Are you a Jones Affiliate? I do mornings on a radio station in the Arkansas Ozarks. We play classic rock, nothing new, so I don't get promo copies anymore. I sure miss the freebies. thanks for your link.

Also, KBCO posted the "single remix cold," which has an abrupt ending. Sarah posted the "single remix fade."
(By the way, Sarah, and hopefully not sounding greedy... but will you be posting the "cold" version too?)

We are in East Tennessee.. and.. luckily (IMO, anyway) our transmitter county falls like, HALF of a HAIR outside of all the surrounding metros.. so we do things pretty much however we want.
We have an OLDIES station.. and I mean OLDIES, late 40s, 50s, 60s ONLY.. over 2,500 songs in our library :) (Actually, there is one song from 1972, I think, but it sounds very 1968. Rockin' Pneumonia, Johnny Rivers!) We have a Red Hot Country Station (Blahhhhhh).. and a News/Traditional/Talk/Sometimes Gospel/Sometimes New Country/Whatever We Feel like Doing/News-Comes-First-but-here's-some-music-between-mobile-reports-about-murders-and-auto-crashes!!! station. That station, I don't know what it is about it, but it's the baby. It's been #1 in this region since we first started broadcasting in 1946. Our 12:30 Midday news anchor has been doing the same newscast with the same sponsor in the same timeslot .. completely unchanged, for 50 years as of May 19. I hope to God I don't turn into that.
We're a Westwood One affiliate, but we signed up with Jones to get Oldies Prep Online and Country Prep Online, and as a package deal, we get the chartbreakers or whatever it's called cds weekly with all the new singles for each format.
I love radio - and I love where I work, but I will, hopefully, be moving to a larger broadcasting company within the next few years. I'd love to hear your show!

I don't think there is a cold version.. I think that was just cut off. Both of the versions I have on Hit Disc and Chartbreakers are fade.
If I see it, I'll pop it up. Now, I'm feeling like I should post the Peacekeeper Lindsey-Only radio edit. I didn't know that most stations were playing the version with Stevie.. all the ones here are rockin' LB alone. Do people need that one?

Hi Sarah... the promo single on ebay, which is currently going for $52(!!!!) has two tracks... the "single remix fade (3:49)," and the "single remix cold (3:36)."
I'm guessing they've issued two versions of these promo discs.
There's a radio edit of Lindsey's solo version of "Peacekeeper" (the one that originally surfaced on the ACLU promo disc)?
Cool! :)
I don't think anyone has a radio edit of that, so if it's not too much trouble, I'm sure we'd all greatly appreciate it if you could post it.
Now if only they had kept the original instrumentation from his solo version, and added Stevie's harmony vocals to that, we'd have had a "perfect" version. :D

Hey Johnny. $52 is ridiculous. I hope I can find the cold one just so those dirty thieves' golden egg turns into scrambled eggs. If I can find the cold version, I'll put it up for sure.
I'll listen to our version of Peacekeeper again just to double check, but I'm pretty sure it's Lindsey only. I heard it long before I got SYW on cd, (the day it came out ;) ) and I remember thinking, "Oh, Stevie did some harmony on this?"
I'll dig through the discs in my filing cabinet and desk drawers. (That might take a while, I have no organizational skills.) If that version is different from the Lindsey/Stevie radio edit, I'll put it up.

I love it too, sure beats working. I've been doing it for 27 years now. I've been in a bigger market not major but big (Little Rock, AR). I love it here in the Ozarks it's so peaceful. Our station, Hits 96, just came out on top in the Arbritron ratings, we haven't been #1 in a long time and it feels so good. We have a web site but we don't stream. Wish we could get the comps like Clear Channel stations then we could get free first row tickets.
Wow 52 bucks, I've got a couple of boxes full of promo disc and 45's from the 80's and early 90's. Look for them soon on ebay, lol.

Number 1 on Arbitron is a beautiful thing, isn't it?
My sister's station, Oldies 96.5 WOXL in Asheville bumped ClearChannel's KISS COUNTRY (kiss fm) out of number one. THAT hasn't happened in like, a gazillion years, and ClearChannel is PISSED. They demanded that Arbitron extend the Metro so that it would be out of WOXL's listening area.. (they have 100,000 capability, but are only using 25K now, KISS FM is using the entire 100K).. sadly for ClearChannel, WOXL management was too smart- they bought a repeater and broadcast on another signal that extends into the rest of KISS FM's listening area. ;) I love that!
Do you guys use SS32 with touch screen and all that?
Still off topic, but, you SHOULD sell your promos if you don't want them anymore. People love that stuff for some reason.. I guess because it's rare. I got tired of trying to keep cool promo stuff. It made me a packrat. For the most part, I just toss that stuff in a filing cabinet or in the trashcan now.

Thanks a lot Sarah, I don`t think we would have heard this over here on the radio within the next 2 months as Peacekeeper still has some regular airplay... (which is great imo)
Laura posted this morning on Tracys website and was the first to notice that there was a strange sounding part but I didn't know what she was talking about as the radio link, that was posted earlier was of crappy sound quality. Now I listened to the song and realized what she meant...
What`s going on at 1:13 min ("here is the place...) for about ca 5 seconds? Is it a different sound quality/mix? Is it an afterwards added part which doesn`t sound the same? Can anybody hear that?
Sarah

that is an outrageously obvious overdub, IMO.
She changed the notes she sang for the "Here is a place" part.. I guess in effort to sound more sassy, maybe? Stevie's vocal right there is definitely NOT the same as it is on the cd.
Damn, John kicks ass.

No, I've used a Scott system with touch screen before, I've used Arakis it really sucks, now we are using Wavestation, it's pretty nice but I really miss cueing 45's and playing spots from carts like we did in the good old days. Congratulations on beating Clear Channel!

I don't miss cueing vinyl or spot carts, primarily because I don't miss logging and REcueing spot carts at the end. We've had SS32 for.. god, 3 years now? Before that, we used AXS in combination with cd, cassette (rarely), and cart.. It got really confusing: at one point, we had SS32, AXS, AND all the individual components. So you're sitting there at the board, "Ok, I know my song is about to end, but what the hell is it playing on?" lol!
I've slipped into the modern age, around here I'm "The Minidisc Samurai."

I like it, it's very poppy...I like how she does the "here is the place..." part like she does on tour.

Yes I love the new little parts - John's more excited bass in parts, Mick's extra beats in some parts.
So the Cold Remix must be the one from the other day that was in that crappy wma format. It had a different ending.

Thanks for sharing, Sarah. John sure does kick some mighty ass! The rest of it doesn't do much for me tho. I miss the crystal clear Turner tones (signature Lindsey guitar sound). The guitar sounds very generic to me in this one, but maybe that means it'll do better on radio. What the hell do I know?

Sarah, thanks for posting this. I like Stevie's slightly different vocal and McVie's little bass solo.

Warning: this is a completely different song than the one
we've heard in the album. Not really a "new version"... it has some guitar parts changed (the riff was my favorite part of the song, and now it's hidden between a cool lead guitar, but it's not the same). I'll have to go through lots of listens to appreciate it more, I guess... but I stay with the album version for the moment.
To me, the perfect "single version" of "Say You Will" was the one on the album, without the children choir at the end, but with something like a Lindsey/Stevie a-cappella harmony vocal fading. But they never listen to me in the record companies...

Yes I thought so too. But this is not a bootleg or a demo from the studio- it is the real thing to get played on the radio... I think they left the probationer doing this mix? This is really not professional imo- a little tacky.
Concerning the song- I personally like Peacekeeper much better with all its little details and I think the 1037 times repeated SYW chorus on the album version is a little too much. I think it`s good that the single version is a bit shorter so that might be better now. It`s a nice pop song and I hope you`re all right and the song pushes the album sales and gets it back into the spotlight where it belongs.

I totally agree! it would have been awesome if they had ended the song like they do live....with Just Lindsey and Stevie singing. And definitely no kids on the end....In fact, to me, they seem even MORE prominent on the Chorus in this version....did anyone else think that? Overall, It's interesting to hear a different version but I'm pretty sure I like the album version (or the live version) much better.

Hello everyone! This is my first post as a new Ledgie - I've been a lurker for a while, and really enjoy reading everyone's posts.
Thank you, Sarah, for posting the "Say You Will" fade remix.
I've done some searching, but I can't seem to find the "cold remix" posted anywhere.
Does anyone know how I can get an mp3 of the "cold remix"???
Many thanks--

If I come across a good-quality copy of it (a very low-quality copy was available on KBCO FM's website), I'll let everyone here know.
Hopefully others will do the same too. :)

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been waiting to hear it since some posted awhile back it was out. I like it...I love that you can hear Lindsey's background vocals more, and the guitar is more pronounced. I still wish there was another verse. The chorus is repeated too much at the end. But its still great :)

Is it possible to copy this (hope I'm allowed to say that with all the news about song swapping in the news!)?
I recently picked up the new Australian Fleetwood Mac radio promo cd which is a double A of "Running Through The Garden" and "Say You Will" (Cold Mix). The 'Cold Mix' is identical to the faded remix version except that the kids' vocals have been erased from the chorus and the song stops cold at 3.35 when Stevie sings "give me one more chance" (there is a little reverb on her voice so it echoes ever so slightly).
The positives of the remixed version are that Stevie's vocal during the verses has been raised in the mix (it was way too low on the album version) and of course, a couple of lines feature a new vocal as already pointed out. Lindsey's harmonising is also a welcome addition and the arrangement has been beefed up with a more strident guitar sound. On the down side, Sheryl Crow's sublime piano (featured during the second verse on the album version) has been altogether ditched in favour of a slightly generic guitar treatment and whilst it rocks, loses some of the album version's subtleties.
For those interested, "Say You Will" was remixed by Chris Lord-Alge who has tweaked many of Stevie's solo singles.
I'm actually more interested in "Running Through The Garden" being promoted and just hope this means it will be reinstated in the concert setlist. I wonder if a past performance has been filmed for promotional purposes... we shall see.

When you get a chance, I'd also like to hear that other version of Peacekeeper. Mix 105 has only been playing the one with Lindsey & Stevie. I didn't even know there was another version.
Thanks again for posting the Say You Will radio edit!
