Looks like the club's having problems again with the presale. Reno isn't live yet and it's well after 9. And my password is "incorrect." Called the "emergency hotline" which is just a dude on a cell phone, LOL! The guy who answered blamed it on the tickets.com (surprise, surprise). Anyone else have better luck?

OH GOOD GOD...see this is what Mick gets for hiring an amateur to handle this stuff. He used such poor judgement, and was blinded by friendship and maybe greed. FMac needs to stop Mick from doing any business for them period.

Boise wasn't up until about 45 minutes after the sale started and I keep getting offered the same tickets.

Tickets.com effed-up the Oakland pre-sale too. My tirade over that little incident is what led to my banning! LOL I left a message on the fan club hotline and NO ONE ever returned my call. Nor was any explanation ever offered by either JT or tickets.com.

I tried buying tix this morning but ticketbastard would not let me because my allotment had been reached. Funny I've only bought two tickets for the entire tour. I finally got a new password from fan club folks, but who got my tickets with my original password? Why don't they track them down, I'm sure it could be done, and charge them with theft?

That's weird...I used the same password from a past presale and got through on the Reno show...Was offered Fan Club Section B Floor Row 11 Seat 5...

Weird,

Presale goof-up TicketMaster

Just thought I would check in and see whats new with the new concerts and presales.
I lurked a bit a few months ago but haven't had time to join in and keep up with the news with work and everything.
After catching up on the latest I decided to join and let you all know that I had a problem with getting my tickets in the presale before last.
It was TicketMasters fault. I called them and explained the situation. They accepted responsibility and credited my account. They also gave me MUCH better seats and I was just happy as could be.
I considered posting about my experience back then but I didn't want to count my chickens before they hatched since it did take a little while for my account to be credited and I wasn't postive they wouldn't end up sending all 4 tickets and charge me for them.
Their posted policy is no refunds, no exchanges, no exceptions.
However, I did have good luck with the customer service dept and I was completely satisfied once my CC company confirmed the account credit and my really good seat tickets arrived 3 weeks later.
Just a thought if anyone thinks TicketMaster might be part of any problems they encounter.

Dee

oops- I am not sure I posted this in the right place
Forgive a newbie if I made a boo boo?

No...you posted the right place and welcome. Thank you so much for sharing that experience. I know that Ticket Bastard can be a pain, but,my experience with them has been that the problem lies in the ppl answering the phones. Not with managment and Cus Ser. I had a similar problem with TM over a Stevie show during TISL. When I called and complained, they refunded me for the awful tkts and sold me much better ones. They will do that sometimes.

By the time they finally got the Reno presale going, the first 20 rows were already gone. So I decided not to buy. Chalk another one up for our wonderful fan club, LOL!

I think most people do better buying just a few days before the show when Ticketmaster / Tickets.com puts new tickets into the pool, the ones set aside for industry. I always hear about people scoring 5th row or better purchasing at the last minute.

I have a question for y'all... Which artist fan clubs out there are actually worth the price of membership? Someone on another list mentioned Dream Theater as having quite a good fan club. I belong to the Neil Finn fan club and they do almost everything imaginable for their members. Now, this guy's not very popular in the US, but he has legions of fans around the world.

Some perks:

Lifetime membership
When the club was just starting out about 10 years ago, they offered a special $60 lifetime membership rate. You could be a member for life and get a quarterly color newsletter booklet with sales sheets to buy memorabilia.

Custom-made live CDs
Neil records every one of his shows. So far, they've released about 50 CDs.

DVDs
They took a poll of stuff fans wanted on DVD...music vids, concerts, tour docs, etc -- they actually released them!

Autographed pictures and CDs
I don't really care about these, but he signs everything.

Meet-n-greets
From time to time, Neil does these short 15 minute meet-n-greets with his fans after most of his gigs.

Letters from Neil/Tour Diaries
Neil's a fairly witty guy, so these entries are often hilarious to read.

Customer Service
The guy that runs the club is a FAN and takes great pride in what he does. He'll usually shoots back an email reply within a few hours and even posts his thoughts about Neil's music.

The only drawback is that the club can only handle a few thousand members at a time, so there may be a waiting list to jump on. But it's definitely worth the wait if you're a fan.

Now, I'm not saying all of this is necessarily possible with Fleetwood Mac, but they should dump this ridiculous presale tickets scam and focus on things that the majority of fans could actually enjoy, not just a lucky few. I'd be thrilled with just a rare DVD or live CD. I can't believe there's actually a petition to get this stuff released -- it should already be out.

And, I would be willing to bet that they went to a scalper who stole passwords and the other upsetting thing is, how are they getting the primo seats before we can even sign on? Someone inside TM??? The Fan Club???? There is a huge problem somewhere, and if our Fan Club cared one whit about us, they would have changed all the passwords once they knew that the passwords had been stolen. We have outed them, so now they are doing it. And, if they cared at all, they would be proactive in finding out who got those tickets??????? TM has the credit card numbers, and names and a quick match up with eBay listings the day of the first presale doesn't take a rocket scientist.

Boy .....it's awful what the people in charge of the fan club are doing to FM fans. I had no idea what was going on and seriously considered signing up for the club thinking it would be such a great thing. I am so glad I didn't!!!! It sounds like I probably would have become somewhat disenchanted with FM even though it is not their fault.

You would think that they must know what is going on? I mean somebody in their "crew" must read these boards. How else are they going to know how their fans feel? I refuse to believe that they don't care. But hopefully they will come to their senses and realize what is going on.

Who is this Jonathan Todd anyway? Is he an old friend of Micks?

We'll never know everything.

Don't get me wrong. I am certainly not surprised at what happened this time around. I was actually expecting something to go wrong, LOL! I think it's been well established at all of the various forums that this fan club is, at best, poorly run. I don't want to come off as a whiner as I know there have been steps to combat what's been happening (e.g. filing for a refund, warning others not to join, etc). But I think it's important to keep the issue fresh and continue let everyone know that they still have not worked out the kinks and serious problems are still occuring. The fan club still sucks

I'm not sure who exactly I talked with this morning over on the "Emergency Hotline Cell Phone"...maybe it was JT himself! At 9:15am, he said that no one was getting tickets and that Tickets.com had screwed up. So I asked...how long do I have to keep on trying to get tickets. He replied, just keep trying. Apparently, some got decent seats...but what time was that?

Yes, honey, all in black and white...most of the early stuff in JTs own words. Computer is full, as are back up disks. When my computer went down, whoever messed with it through my internet access port...ahem...thought that by so doing and causing me to have to reformat my hard drive, and to those that do not knwo what that means, it is removal and replacement of everthing, that that would cause me to lose it all was dead wrong. I also have some very good programs that can go back up to five times that you reformat and get the info and restore it...

I'm not just looking up the "last minute dream seats" to help my fellow Ledgies - I'm printing them all out, directly from Sticketbastard...they might be useful some day....

(((((Livia))))))) that is wonderful. So absolutely cool. That, along with all the tkts that hit eBay on the day of our presales are strong reasons to get refunds. I was looking through some sundry **** yesterday and came upon one of JTs emails touting that they had software in place to keep ppl from buying tkts that are not entitled to them...well, helllllo....it musta been broke
