Um. No offense to any of you who may live in some of the aforementioned locations but um... IDAHO?!?! NORTH DAKOTA?!?! UTAH?!? WTF MAN?!! LET'S GET BACK TO THE NORTH EAST, FLEETWOOD MAC! Sheesh.... Why do I have a feeling they're not coming back here??

Finally, they're coming this way. Salt Lake is a quick flight and so is KC. Hell, I might even have to see Idaho and/ or North Dakota. The big question is WHEN?

I dunno..when I think of Idaho, I think of taters. It just doesn't remind me of the Fleetwood Mac state to play in. Stevie hates carbs. I guess they won't be playing in a potato field. LOL.

Lubbock is in Texas so I can kind of understand the TX dates since it is such a HUGE state but I don't know where it is in Texas. Bossier City i've never heard of in my life. I'm just surprised with some of their city choices. I mean, it's great if you live there and you're a fan but it sucks that they aren't visiting some of the places I would think they would. There haven't been any dates in Virginia but there is a date in IDAHO???!? I'm sorry...I just can't get past that...lol. NYC...no. Idaho. Absofreakinlutely. LOL.

Are these for real? Pardon me, but it used to be that a band of Fleetwood Mac's caliber wouldn't be caught dead in some of the tiny backwater towns listed above. (No offense to residents of said backwater towns--I come from one myself.) Do you think the Stones or the Eagles would play Bossier City, LA?
What's next? The local Holiday Inn? Geez...Do they need the money THAT much?

Well I have to say that I am thrilled that they are coming back to Ohio!! Woohoo! Cincinnati here I come! I was sad that there were not more eastern shows too though. But maybe they will add more on after these shows are officially posted.
Remember someone posted that they were playing smaller venues the secong leg..I guess this is in reflection to it.

Now I KNOW they're trying to annoy me.
STILL no Houston, San Antonio, or Austin, but...Lubbock?
I think they're boycotting me because of all the Blackdress songs.
BTW, I've never been there, but if I recall, Lubbock is in the panhandle.
It's like a whole other country up there.
They get snow.
So, FM is hitting Dallas and Lubbock in north Texas, El Paso in west Texas, and nothing in central or east Texas.
I know, I know, it's like the old saying:
I once felt bad because I had to drive a long ways to see the Mac.
Then I met the poster across the sea in Europe who could drive to see no Mac.
I feel for you guys.:distress:
Congratulations to those of you who can now see the tour. I wonder how the second leg will compare to the first.

Yea I was hoping they would head to Houston too as I have family there and a free plane ticket just waiting to be used. :(
Oh well...at least the positive is they are covering Texas it seems..just the other end though.
I am hoping they add more places then what they have. Maybe this is a test run.

Yea, when they said smaller venues, I had no idea they meant Uncle Billy Bob Jo Lee Nelson's Potato Pickin' Family Farm. I was thinking places like the PNC Arts Center in north jersey or the outdoor venue in Manassas, VA that Stevie has previously played in...smaller places....but like, cardboard boxes?!? I know it supposedly costs like a million dollars to play at MSG but it probably costs like, 10 to play at the potato farm. And how many people live in Idaho anyway?!?! And Jake, I feel for you... stuck in the last freakin' row of the pit in Philly and now they're screwin' with you by going EVERY podunk place in Texas other than where you live. I don't know about you all, but i'm waiting on the Alaskan Oil Field date....

Well, at least you'd have something to drink on the way home. Dang, the fan club is SO giving. They want to make sure you don't dehydrate on your flight. Hey, I wonder if I went to the Idaho show and carved potatos into the shape of the band if they would sign them....ain't nothin' like potato reeboks. lol
No offense taken, but being from IDAHO, Boise is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. You can bet that most of the biggest tours this summer will be stopping there.
Sorry that disappoints some of you from the toxic waste states, but the east coast has had enough shows, its time for the west coast to enjoy.

Tweeter Center is the same as the E-Center. The E-Center was bought out by Tweeter (I believe it's a stereo company that used to be called Bryn Mawr or something). FU Center is getting ready to become the WACHOVIA CENTER. I still say E-Center most of the time because Tweeter sounds dirty...lol. And I will always call the First Union Center the FU Center just because...well...it's fun. And yes, the E-Center/Tweeter Center is the dumpiest place EVER for a concert unless it's something like the Y100 Feztival or the Q102 concert (local radio stations) Those shows are all day events so you just crash on the lawn. However, those shows are mostly comprised of drunk people taking nitrous so everyone wants to be on the lawn so they can partake in illegal activity and they really don't care about being up close. They care about being high and very drunk. And yes, it is in the projects...next to the aquarium. I saw Stevie at the E-Center. My seats sucked and the sound was horrible. But it was my first Stevie concert ever so she could have been playing in a trashcan (which the E-Center essentially is..okay, so it's more like a grassy nole) and I would have still been like, YAY!

Bossier City, Louisiana is located in the northwest portion of Louisiana, directly across the Red River from Shreveport. The city is accessible via Interstate 20 and minutes from Interstate 49. It is 3 hours east of Dallas, Texas; 3.5 hours south of Little Rock, Arkansas; 4 hours west of Jackson, Mississippi; and 4.5 hours north of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Here is the site for what I assume will be the arena
http://www.centurytelcenter.com/directions.html
This is actually a pretty cool choice because Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Middle/Northern Mississippi are accessible. Having said that, it is in the middle of nowhere as far as I am concerned and the Texas people can clearly drive to Dallas for an easier trip. New Orleans or Lafayette (at the Cajun Dome  ) would have been a better choice. But, again, they did not ask me!!!!!!

For those who say the Eagles would never play cities like this....
Last year, May-July the Eagles did an entire tour of secondary markets. They did not play New York, Boston, Atlanta, LA, SFO, Chicago, etc.
Where did they play? Spokane, Fargo, Wichita, Tupelo, MS, Biloxi, MS, Bossier City, LA, Lubbock, TX. Some of those cities sound familiar?
I can not believe the band is being hammered for playing smaller markets. So many provincial people here. How about the people in these markets who usually have to drive 8 hours plus to see a show? They are getting the opportunity to have a huge band come to their city. Believe me when bands like this do that, they are treated like royalty and rewarded with packed houses and enthusiastic crowds. That is why the Eagles, Springsteen, and now Fleetwood Mac are choosing to play these markets.
For those who say they did not play the east coast. 2 dates in Worcester, Albany, Buffalo, Philly, Atlantic City, Uniondale, Meadowlands Arena, Pittsburgh, DC. I think that is a pretty good sampling of the East Coast.
They have a second leg kicking off September/October that I am sure will hit Houston, Dallas, and then some major East Coast Cities, NYC probably Boston proper, instead of Worcester, a Hartford date, etc.

I think it is great FM is making an effort to go to all of the people in the U.S. and not just the big cities. They did this for the White Album as well as Rumors and during the period between the two.
I also, think the European leg is in the works. I have nothing to base that on other than The Dance was going to Europe and elsewhere like Austrlia before CM did not agree to participate in the second leg of the tour because she agreed only to the first leg (note: I mean no harm no foul to CM). I also think TISL was headed to Europe and perhaps Australia but 9/11 prevented that from happening. So, here is hoping I am correct and I will be able to buy all of my London Ledgie friends a pint at the London concert :D
Also, one of the reasons The Dance tour, as well as the CD, was so successful was they charged a bunch like they are doing now and played to many sold out smaller "shed" venues and some larger also sold out venues. So, I think FM is on the right track here.

THEIR GOING TO LUBBOCK!!! That's only two hours from Amarillo -- (Lubbock is a city right in between El Paso and Dallas, just to the south of where I am). I may actually get to go see my first Fleetwood Mac concert after all...if I have enough money. I don't know why they are going to Lubbock, Amarillo is just as big (if not bigger) and Lubbock's population is mainly made up of Texas Tech University.

Secondary markets are important. There are fans in those cities who would not otherwise get the chance to see the band if they didn't come closer to they're town. It may be because people don't have the opportunity too travel far to see a show, or the desire to do so, or even have enough money. The more shows they play--in different cities, the better they can increase album sales.
Besides, I don't think that anyone from New Jersey, as the girl who started this string is, should be critical of other places.
The only thing good about Jersey is Springsteen and the fact that it is close to NYC.
Somajoseph
06-12-2003, 11:40 AM
I also agree that secondary markets are important. Back in 75 when the Mac were on the White Album tour, they sold that album, Stevie said, by "playing everywhere", we kicked that album in the ass!" I always loved that quote, I thought it was pretty funny. They played 95 dates, I believe, from Sept-Dec of 1975. "Rhiannon" wasnt even released as a single until the spring of 1976! By the end of December they had a platinum album, and that was solely on the strength of all those shows, and the single "Over My Head" which only got to #20 on the pop sinlgles chart. So playing everywhere does obviously increase sales, and I am sure those shows are much appreciated by their fans outside of the large urban centers.

I'm not hammering the band for playing places like this...I'm just picturing Stevie in Idaho and I think it's funny. My friend Erica was born in south Jersey, moved to Colorado when she was little, moved back to south Jersey, then moved to Idaho for 5 years and then to California for a year and then back to Jersey. She was not a fan of Idaho and she used to tell me that she lived in the middle of nowhere and there was nothing around her at all. I don't know how far away she lived from Boise. She could have seriously lived in the middle of nowhere with farm area around her. I have no idea. Perhaps that's why my view is somewhat skewed because i've never not lived with crap around me. I have 7 malls near my house..the farthest being 45 minutes away. I mean, for crying out loud I live in the most densely populated state per square mile. You can't freakin' get away from people which sucks....trust me. And I'm not saying that it's not a nice place to live. I'm just saying that it's a random state for Fleetwood Mac to be playing. That's all. Yea, it is cool that some people who would not ordinarily get to see them will. I'm happy for you guys because it means you won't have to travel 8 hours away.
However, I have a feeling that at the rate Stevie and Lindsey are going (i don't think it's a stage act, I think she's genuinely pissed off at him), and if Stevie's physical and mental health continue to decline (flame me all you want, but girlfriend is having a meltdown and I think it's a variety of things in combination with the menopause), there will be no second leg of the tour and these random ass places will be it. Is that selfish of me? Probably. But if they don't do a second leg of this tour, I'm highly doubting they'll be doing another album and tour with it. Just my opinion. I hope I'm wrong but we'll just have to wait it out and see.

IMO, I think there are three reasons Stevie did not go to europe.
One, was that she started to get sick and had to cancelled a few shows. Just that, I think made it imposible to go because she had to make most of those dates and there would not be time to go anywhere else.
Two, The 9/11 thing made the whole thing worse but I think is not the biggest reasong for not going overseas.
Three, after the band decided that Lindsey's song from the never released album "GOS" were going to be in the next FM Album. You can bet that when the record company found out, they were not going to let Stevie tour overseas, so she get back with guys and record her stuff.
Anyway, I hope they do go overseas and I'm glad for the fans whose going to get a chance to see them with this added shows.

At this point in the bands career, they aren't worried about boosting album sales (okay, so I can't speak for Mick). If they were, they'd be putting a little more effort into increasing sales, wouldn't they? I haven't heard Peacekeeper on the radio in weeks and they have yet to play Say You Will and I still have not seen the video for Peacekeeper. If they're going to these places, it's because someone wants them to..whether that's management, or fans, or whatever, i don't know. I doubt the band sat down and said, "let's throw darts on a map to determine where the second part of the first leg of the tour will take us!"--thus the randomness of the places.
"Besides, I don't think that anyone from New Jersey, as the girl who started this string is, should be critical of other places."
Hahaha...sorry, that's great. I'm more critical of this state than anywhere else. We're the only state that puts our capital in the ghetto and our governor in a mansion in Princeton. How could you not love that???? And we don't pump our own gas! Oh wait, it gets better...our taxes are outrageous, no one wants to provide us car insurance, we have two license plates, and we're called the Garden State but, uh, I don't see many gardens! Oh, and my name is Marissa so you don't need to call me "the girl" anymore. You'll probably start calling me Jersey now.

Well, I think that since both Mick & Lindsey have the families along with 'em on the road, that they're using it as an excuse to see the whole country...they hit the "major markets" first leg and are using the second leg to play places they haven't played before...maybe they'll eventually hit all 50 states on this tour...I think they should at least expand to UK & Australia before they consider the tour "over".

Does NJ still have outrageous tolls. I drove from New Oreans to NYC one time and had to pay like over $100 in tolls in Jersey!!!!!!
Yup! Only now we have EZPass so we can speed through the toll booths...lol. When we went to DC for the show, I went with my friend Steve. Now Steve is totally gay so he like, hardly knows where the gas tank is..lol..and I was like, you have to pump your own gas. I know how to pump it because my parents own a gas station but I wanted to watch him try and have a good laugh. It was SOOO hysterical. He's like, "I can't do it.." this guy behind us was like, "you've got to be friggin' kidding me? You're joking right?" Steve goes "WE'RE FROM NEW JERSEY!!! WE DON'T PUMP OUR OWN GAS!!!" LOL!

Ya know, I'm actually curious to see how much tickets will go for in these smaller cities. I know Atlantic City was $150 per ticket and Philly was $125 and I think DC was $135. Do you think they'll be a difference in price??? Hell, if they're cheap, I'll fly to Idaho... I know southwest airlines is doing this $45 each way deal thingy right now. I should live it up before I spend the next portion of my adult life in debt...damn you Emerson College. Sheesh.

I never knew that New Jersey was a non-pump state. I had my first experience with this in Oregon, as I pulled into a station I started to get out of my car and this man started running towards me. I had NO CLUE about the law, and after 10 hours of driving, I see this man running at me so I head back into my car and lock the doors. Well he knocks on my window and of course I am like...I am getting out of here. But I look and see he has a uniform on and is asking me what type do you want? So once I realize he was there to pump and after my astonishment of not having to do it myself it was quite nice. Oh and yes...I did tip him as my face did not lose the redness it acquired once I realized I ran from the gas man, but he laughed and I laughed so it was all good.
I wonder what other states has this no-pump law?

Man, you yanks on the first page are so spoiled. Thank you Fleetwood Mac for not forgetting the midwest and southern fans. People all over the country love Fleetwood Mac. But what happened to Little Rock, Ar.?
It would be nice if the fan club would get it's **** togather and offer up some decent seats this time around but I'm not holding my breath. Doubt I'll even go see them twice anyway and I've already got OKC tix. I think I'll see Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith and Kiss to wrap up my summer concert fun.

Hey, Marissa, I forgot about those Jersey pumps.
And there are worst things to be called than Jersey. My Atlantic City grandmother used to always tell me the same old joke: What did Della wear? Her new jersey.
Who knows, Stevie might even write a song called Turnpike Angel.
Don't feel bad about the pumps. The first time I went to vote in Texas, I was stunned to see paper ballots, short pencils, and a real live ballot box. I had assumed everybody used the automated booths like in Philly. Of course, this was before the 2000 election results, when we were swamped with descriptions of different voting methods around the country.

Watching the acid rain

To the tune of LANDSLIDE
Wore my sweatpants--wore them into town--
grabbed my Coach handbag--it was brown--
Then I climed into my Benz and I picked up my friends
And the state troopers lights flashed 'round--
Oh, MAC cosmetics are SO fly--
they're what I love--
did I mention BEBE is a clothing store
sent from up above
And I took daddy's credit card and I maxed it out--
the bill made him scream and shout--
Well I been 'fraid of leavin
cuz I built my wardrobe--around you--
but time makes us older--
that's when we'll have to be bolder
and get lots of surgery too
And there you have it...lol

I hear there's trouble on Jersey shore
I run through the sand
I run over the needles
Down to dead fish
Show me the way back to clean air
You can consume all the ozone in the room, baby
Big hair you spray, mallchicks must do it
And it spikes up your bangs
And it totally coats "you's" like layers of foundation
But the gas pump has been broken
Attendant preys in the shadow of casino
You want to walk the boards
But you are stuck on bridge
You say, another toll, make it stop!
Before the dawn of more pollution
Stinks up the wind
Totally chokes you
I hear there's trouble on Jersey shore

Idaho Ledgie- I meant no disrespect to you or the land of potatoes, I'm low carb, that's all. I thought it was an odd place for FM to play, not as odd as Bossier LA though. Either they're broadening they're audience by playing to the college market or these are fill in dates while they travel around.

we just drove by

would be like dying
Said no to the thought
again and again
but I lost my job
and then I had to move in
so no one knows

one life walked away from me
Now I lost my sanity and live with my parents again

Its not alright

Nope, we don't pump our own gas...we have gas station attendants. Of course, there are some gas stations that offer both self-serve and full serve. But, yea, generally you sit in your car and tell them how much you want. I can just see all of you getting out of your cars to pump your own gas and having some guy that doesn't speak English run up to you and start yelling...lol... Fleetwood Mac does indeed have a LARGE spectrum of fans from all corners of the globe, don't they?? You never promised me tomato garden
You never said we'd buy organic
You never promised we'd buy our veggies roadside
You only offered water ice lick
Well, I never took the time to find clean skies
How much I needed Christine Todd Whitman in order to survive
I was so fake, a princess in my time
And walk to gas pump was so far
And my tank so hard to find
You never promised me cheap bangles for suntanned arm
Boardwalk pinwheel you said was all you could buy
You never said we'd win cool prize at skee-ball
And oh my darling ate Dipstix fried
And now you're gone and I'm alone and still so phoney
My new nose still looks the same
One day I turned off the pike and I was out of hairspray
In my height there's been a big change
Now I've a beach house
With sea gulls falling dead all around
Yeah, and I've got a garden
And it's got tomatoes rotting black on the ground
Yes, and I've got casino bus trips
A & P coupons, and state trooper boyfriend
Well I've got all these things
All these things but a full spray can
For my frizzed hair
In my head band
No no, you never promised
Me Jersey tomatoes

For the tax that I pay to this state
Back on the pike!
Never did I mean to
Live by the pike exit
Here in my Garden State
Like I am in prison
For the tax that I pay for good roads
For the tax that I pay for good roads
Pay the toll!
Until she herself
Took risks in Garden State
Avoided bankruptcy
No losses on slots
Until she herself
Got laid under boardwalk
Using protection
These tourists pay lots
Driving through the Garden State
I'm driving through countless toll booths
I'm driving straight towards
Straight towards
What you know is one more speed trap
Too many state troopers
For me to race down
For the love that I have for my life
Pay the fine!

Reminds me of when Philly's Wilson Goode used city money to buy himself speech lessons to help get reelected. Of course, in Philly, it worked.
Linda Ellerbee's hilarious book "And So It Goes" talks about when Goode assembled a committee to select an outstanding Philadelphian who would win a cash prize.

You's you's you's you's you's you's you's you's

Can't not hear Jerseygirl
Near dead horseshoe crab
That remains
Call for frozen custard
Gulp down my fudge
I leave all my trash
As if this trash were just too much
Too much for me to clean up
For me to clean up
She is taking a pee in the sea
She was just a skank, she was just

Tide swept pee away
See you's another day

Meet me down by

Well I'm through waiting for you
the polluted ground has melted though my shoes!
Well, I think I now know
why I always wheeze
Sometimes I think
that I must have
I must have been crazy
Crazy to breathe in this air, baby
Well, my skin is brown
and its cancerous, baby
Now I decided to gasp for air
while I waited on you
But now, I'm alright...
Please, the state's been taken on a ride
You know, all of this has been on our dime
Now, I hope I can buy a lung
a new fine lung
So, I'll be alright...
That's right
I believe, I believe
that I know you Mr Welch
cause you been polluting our earth and I
Well, I never did believe in you lies
Yoiu know, you sure as hell have been telling lies (Mr. Welch)
Now, I can't breathe
like I should breathe
But that's alright,
at least Mr. Welch you and your billions are alright
Please, Mr. Welch - don't waste any more time
You know what the Hudson has become on your dime
I hope you spend it with a good conscious
and that tou make it anyway to your own designs of heaven
That's alright, yes you suck for what you did to us
That's right
For those who do not know - Jack Welch was the head of General Electric (GE) for years and, consequently, is a very, very wealthy man. It has been widely alleged that GE during Mr. Welch's reign made the Hudson river very very polluted to the point that it has become a campaign to get GE to stop polluting it and clean it up. The Hudson, of course, separates Manhattan with New Jersey.

Oooh, and on it runs
Your made-up face, and you hate sweating
You say, "I hate this!"
Well, it's just a look that's messed
'Cause there are two shades of skin
I parade around my beach the best
Wildwood masterpiece
What in the mirror can I think that I am seeing?
My face and neck are different colors, need squeejeeing.
Well, the two of them
Well they must be
Mismatched foundation separated at my jawline
Well don't you see, as I strut on by
Light blue eyeshadow look will never really die.
Well, I talked to alls my peeps last night
My hair sprayed up, I'd added Sun-In highlighting
Chicks say, "I don't know howjoo do whatchoo do
Howjoo line your eyes black?"
Well, I say, "Word, cosmetic samples!"
Then I just outline my lips.
Well, the two of us, orange face and white neck
Oooh, the two of us
Could use Nocxema for their very survival
Contrast with each other
Look fake as any set of plastic Colorforms
My face could peel apart.
Two shades of skin
One is my painted mug
One is the neck that's me
Obvious foundation

There you go Marissa. Now, in order to move to Boston you need to incorporate the word "wicked" into your speech pattern. Example: I have a wicked headache from squinting at that Lindsey video on the fan club site.
Go ahead, give it a try.

Lindsey looked wicked hot with his shirt partially unbuttoned with the beads of sweat glistening on his chest. ;) LOL!

Marissa, this one is for you.....to the tune of another great demo, Lady from the Mountain
Some call her trapped, Girlie from Garden State
And then still others say she's really posting here
Oh like her Lindsey plays hard
And wants to play harder
Then maybe then Mr. Buckingham really hears her
Really feels
Girlie from Garden State
She lives there
But she vents on the Ledge as well
But do you know the road
Or the tollbooths there...
And if you exit
You'll be gaining the chance to breathe fresh air
Emerson College beckons once
Then the turnpike turns...turns
Girlie from Garden State
Oh go from there
You know that you want out
Then you could pump your own gas
Somewhere on your car's side
Then maybe Jersey colloquialisms could make you crazy
Did she call out
Did she say, "Yo! You's alls!
Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye!"
Girlie from Garden State
Getting out...getting out
Then breathe without it
Factory burning...burning
But you're hopefully learning (at Emerson)

the subway station
I've been a waiting
Well I'm through waiting for you
the polluted ground has melted though my shoes!
Well, I think I now know
why I always wheeze
Sometimes I think
that I must have
I must have been crazy
Crazy to breathe in this air, baby
Well, my skin is brown
and its cancerous, baby
Now I decided to gasp for air
while I waited on you
But now, I'm alright...
Please, the state's been taken on a ride
You know, all of this has been on our dime
Now, I hope I can buy a lung
a new fine lung
So, I'll be alright...
That's right
I believe, I believe
that I know you Mr Welch
cause you been polluting our earth and I
Well, I never did believe in you lies
Yoiu know, you sure as hell have been telling lies (Mr. Welch)
Now, I can't breathe
like I should breathe
But that's alright,
at least Mr. Welch you and your billions are alright
Please, Mr. Welch - don't waste any more time
You know what the Hudson has become on your dime
I hope you spend it with a good conscious
and that tou make it anyway to your own designs of heaven
That's alright, yes you suck for what you did to us
That's right
For those who do not know - Jack Welch was the head of General Electric (GE) for years and, consequently, is a very, very wealthy man. It has been widely alleged that GE during Mr. Welch's reign made the Hudson river very very polluted to the point that it has become a campaign to get GE to stop polluting it and clean it up. The Hudson, of course, separates Manhattan with New Jersey.
OMG!!! Just stepped in on this post & I'm LMAO. :D

HIGH FIVE!!!! :D Oh, and let's try to use wicked again....
I think it's wicked cool that Lindsey allows people to grab his guitar...and his @ss during the concerts...lol  And it was wicked smart of Stevie to trade in the platforms for some reeboks. I mean, can you imagine how wicked her arches are after all these year? Krikey.

I'll be in Boston for a conference next month. I'll have to practice using the word wicked as much as possible before I go.
Sorry for all the turnpike references, but when I lived back east, whenever we met somebody from Jersey, you'd always ask "Which exit?" to find out just where in Jersey.

But I look forward to the chowda.

I have it on but I'm not paying attention at all.
I'd forgotten about those commercials. Who was that governor from the '80s who used to do the commercials, the one who looked like Joe Piscopo imitating David Hartman from Good Morning America? His accent was so thick. (If you don't know, make something up. Just don't tell me it was before your time.:distress: )

Hmm...I think it may have been Florio...another great governor...lol...gosh, you'd think we'd try and break the trend but nooo...lol  The commericals are SO lame...the commercial they show now has the governor and his wife and their baby with a unibrow walking on the beach saying the slogan...lol... if a baby with a unibrow and the Jersey shore don't getcha here, i dunno what will....lol

I don't know, I mean, yeah, Martha & Stevie are both girlie-girls in their tastes, but Stevie calls herself a hippie. I just don't see her sympathizing a whole lot with Martha, but perhaps I'm wrong. As for Mick, he'd want a cut of the gate for any benefit. Heart of gold, that guy. (Stolen gold)

Baby with a unibrow in Jersey? I keep thinking of Laraine Newman as Connie Conehead. Wasn't she a teen with a unibrow?
And hey, living here in Texas, our governors take the cake. Molly Ivins has made a career out of their stupidity.

Martha wears less makeup than Mick, and she wouldn't be caught dead dressed like a cheerleader on a magazine cover. And while she might condescend to sell at K-Mart, she'd never market schlock like cheap Egyptian-themed jewelry. She would have Jonathan Todd's ass nailed to the floor for damaging her reputation with her public.

Jake - this is in honor of your screen name
I love to waltz with a man in a pin stripped suit
He's all alone - got spats on for shoes
Looks like he's from a time gone by -- turned to Jersey
He could be Guido or even Tony Soprano
You could be paying him protection money ...
Or you could be dead
You pay the part, what the Man says - you must do
And they just may do it so well as they do it to you!
In this town full of Guidos
Hey - those guys ain't no fools
The guns seem to glitter when they are fired at you
When we are waltzing through a job
We always remind them we are the mob
Lose yourself in a cement dress
For you thought you could get away with paying off one but not the rest
And now you can't breath because you are on your way the riverbed
Either you pay off Guido or even Tony SSAAAPPRRAAAAAANNNOOOO...
Or you could you could be dead

And in honor of your screen name...
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's
And the chicks bounce by
Like a strand of butt floss
In beach chair that is hotel's
I wear white nose balm
Said to my bro
What's with our back hair?
We were no more
Than brillo pads
Well we wore gold medallions
Over our man-boobs
From the moment that I first got Home Shoppers Network
Called on my cell phone
Near old run-down pier
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's
Well I swam today
Maybe I will swim again tomorrow
Well the ocean feel
It was whale-ingly familiar
And I smell pollution
The pollution gets on me
With another beach closing
One more warning from EPA
and an infection
Nothing will cure me
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's
The crowds never expect it
When I wax
But my skin changes textures
But my appeal does not change
So with hefty cheeks wedged in Speedo
I squirm forth with hormonal desire to woo
By the old run-down pier
Aaaaaaalllllllsssssss.....
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's
Well then suddenly there was noone else coming to the beach
Yeah yeah
In a flash of belly
That noone would want to emerge at all
Oh I went searching for a hoagie
Up the stairs and down the boards
Not to find a hoagie
Just to hear the cry of little kids, calling
"Go away! Go away!"
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's
Well, I'm at pool hall in the morning
And I'm at casino at nightfall
Sometimes to be macho
Is to be unable to score
At all
I'm a few inches wider
Than my clothes
Just like the Wildwood dune
Stings your eyes feels like they're stinging
You's you's you's

Anybody know anything about the Louisville, KY date that was floated around in the other thread about upcoming dates? Louisville is much closer to me than Cincy, and I'd hate to plunk down cash for Cincy tickets and then later find out the Louisville date was confirmed. Anyone have any insight?
(And, oh yeah, this is my first post after much lurking, so please be gentle  )
Thanks!

(No offense to residents of said backwater towns--I come from one myself.) Do you think the Stones or the Eagles would play Bossier City, LA?
What's next? The local Holiday Inn? Geez...Do they need the money THAT much?
Well I don't know if Stevie needs to tour that much...she doesn't have to bring up babies......after all her tour made around $20,000,000 in the four months that she was on the road, BUT Mick and Lindsey do, to bolster the retirement fund... Mick and Lynn want to bring up their babies in Hawaii and you can't do that on a state pension......not only that Lynn apparently has a fettish for remodelling......as for Lindsey and Kristin well hell knows but whatever they do.......it all costs MONEY, and there will come a time when the royalties will dry up. Tours can make you a ****load of money and well lets go to wherever there is a crowd that are willing to pay.......should they tour Britain, LMAO!!perhaps they will play a couple of WI gatherings, and have refreshments of fresh scones with jam and cream.
