Well, I didn't join the club so I am not actually "one of the scammed" but I would like to see things shaped up. So can/should I still sign (given these circumstances)?

Yes, I think that it is appropriate because you are the target market for the fan club and a possible fan club member and for you to want these issues answered so that you can make a join or not decision, is applicable...so I say yes. I tried to word it as "fans of fleetwood mac and fan club members" so that you can all do it.

You are very welcome. I plan to run it to the end of June, but, may end it sooner. The recipients of the petition will be the individual managers and the promotion company.

I have to say that I am so happy and quite surprised by the number of ppl signing the petition and it is not slowing down at all. Thank you all so much. I do not particularily like the site, though. It is buggy and I cannot set it to allow you to see who has signed. There was another site that did allow that and it was not working. So, if I can pay the fee for prem service, and get that feature, I will. You have to email them to get it...Whatever.. But, so that you know, we closing in on 100 signatures really fast. Thank you and spread the word..

We should do our part to ensure this thread is at the top for a while so anyone just cruising along can look in and get to the petition. Too bad it cant be "locked" like the others.

Thank you again Peace, that is a great thing of you to set it up and notify everyone.

Because the second host for the petition was just not working at all, I have ::sigh:: gone back to the first one again. I will move the signers to the first one who signed on the second one, but, if you want to move it you can. I will compare and not dup on the first one. I have changed the urls to it in this thread for all the other posts.

Here is the correct, and final, one:

Thank you so much for your support and I have to say that we are at 200 signatures in less than a day...in like 18 hours. I am so amazed at all the names that have popped of who I have never heard of. Goes to show that there are a ton of ppl out there who are reading and watching but, not posting perhaps. And, willing to take a stand. Thank you all. I think that they thought only the "ten or so troublemakers" would be there to sign.

I'm so pleased to hear that this is taking off big style!

I was a member a Mick's board from more or less the start but stopped going there not long after I joined (yawn!) and only posted about 4 or 5 times. I went there last to post up the link to Pip's e-mail thread here as a news item there and also attached it to a few other non-related posts too, hee hee :) .

You would not believe how fast I was kicked out..it took all of 15 or 20 mins. Like I could care anyways

Love and happiness from Sarah (One of Pip's Fireflies).

Yes, I did too. To be taken seriously, we should all be willing to sign our correct names. Todd has all that info anyway and it's no big secret them finding out.

Wow, 215, a lot more people are signing the petition than are registering for that cheap, crappy, record store, notebook size, promo picture that Mick signed. And I wonder how many emails he sent out about it to try and get a huge response to make him look good.

BTW, I may have signed it twice (there was a lot of confussion last night). Hope its not a problem. Still 214 very respectful.

Just a report that we have now broken through 300 on the petition (s), and I want to again thank you all. If you could please continue to pass the word along and try to be sure that as many ppl as you can at least see this so that they have the option to sign or not, that would be wonderful.

I expected it to slow down like it has but, 20-30 a day ain't bad...and it may get slower. When it starts to creep, Iwill pull it and make sure that it gets to the different management teams, the promotion company and also to another person that we have made contact with who is now making sure that things are going directly to Mick. NO more around the edges with it. This was a great development and we are really more hopeful.

Also, I want to say that I am not angry, but, determined to get answers, and ultimately I want JT removed from power. He has abused that power and broken trust with the band and with the fans. Note to self....do not take a job working for someone then engage in a war with the ppl who feed your boss. Just a funny...I never needed that note. Which is another thing. I am in the business to make ppl happy and have to bend and give and smile when I do not want to from time to time and if there is a problem with a client, I am there to fix it pronto. Maybe that is another reason this is all so unacceptable to me. Nite guys..:wavey:

I have a question about the petition. It covers a bunch of topics but never really says what we want the result to be. Do we want the result to be just that JT gets fired? Is it more than that? I think sometimes it's best to keep the goal focused and simple. If the goal is to get rid of JT, I think we should just say that. This sounds like a good goal to me.

Miranda
06-08-2003, 01:06 AM
I thought the goal was to have a full investigation of the fan club? Not just to get rid of the guy in charge. Maybe I didn't read things right. Just getting him out would not bring answers to the list of questions raised about the ticket sale, the whole fan club operation, and all the other things in the petition.

..Agreed, however for management to really take note you have to show your intent and show it in such a manner that they KNOW the fans mean business.

Without real conviction for our cause the whole thing will just be tossed aside.

There is no way to get JT fired without exposing the problems and getting questions answered. You can't just have a petition that says, "We want JT fired". You have to have a reason. SOME of the reasons are outlined in the petition, but, there are many more. But, read the petition, it plainly states that we want him removed from any affiliation with the club or the sites.

Also, because of the lies and inconsistencies of the club, there have been many ppl who would have joined and have not. The petition needed to be worded so that not only current members can sign, but, those would be members and also all of the fan community, as they love the band and this has been a major disappointment.

You have to have reasons to have the man fired.

Here is the petition. All of the things are in here....read paragragh two...that is our goal.

To: East End Management, Immortal Records Attn: Carl Stubner, HK Management, Mitch Snyder Promotions

We are fans of Fleetwood Mac. We want to stand together and let our voices be heard regarding the Fleetwood Mac official fan club, the Fleetwood Mac official Web site (www.fleetwoodmac.com) and the Mick Fleetwood official Web site (www.mickfleetwood.com), which is operated by Jonathan Todd of Sabre Mark.

We feel that we have been misled, mistreated, mishandled and disrespected by the administrators of these organizations, and are calling for an investigation of Sabre Mark in order to remove Jonathan Todd and Sabre Mark from any continued affiliation with the sites and the fan club.

We are calling for an accounting of the use of our funds, collected as official fan club membership fees, and want to know whether these funds were used to transport administrative staff of the fan club-affiliated organizations to the Fleetwood Mac rehearsals held in Los Angeles in April 2003, and whether that affiliation resulted in their attendance at these rehearsals. In addition, we want to know whether funds from the fan club either paid for the transportation to and from the event or reimbursed the administrative staff for their expenses, including seating arrangements at the any of the Fleetwood Mac tour performances.

We believe that Jonathan Todd has not been forthcoming with information as to the number of members in the official fan club, as to how many actual seats were made available at the tour venues for the arranged presales through TicketMaster, and as to what our actual seating options were. We want proof that Sabre Mark did indeed provide us with the "best 20 percent seating on the floor, closest," as we were told in solicitation e-mail messages from Jonathan Todd to official fan club members.

We want to register our concerns and unanswered complaints that Jonathan Todd chose to use our screen names as our presale passwords, which might have allowed anyone access to our fan club presale seats. It is a great concern to us that more than 900 seats went on sale on eBay, shortly after our first presale began.

Sincerely,

glitter_fades
06-08-2003, 08:43 PM
I'm still not sure complaining to managment is the answer, but the petition is a good way to document the fact that a lot more than one or two fans have concerns and are unhappy with the fan club.

Some members are meeting resistance to credit card disputes. The petiton gives another source of information for the credit card companies, besides the emails and happy club threads being "created" by the fan club.

Anyone have one of those membership cards we supposedly got for our money? Didn't think so. The fan club is telling credit companies we got cards, so anyone who's got one, please post a picture so the rest of us can see what they look like. Haaahaaahaaahaaahaaaaa!

How do you get your smiley gifs in the body of your post? And, to use the avatar, could you do that from your hard drive? On Micks site, I had to like send it to Sararhiannon to host it for me, I could not do it directly from my hard drive...how did you do it? Then I can send Mr. Vomitus...

...was of the real-life "Knight" from Mick's board. I decided to replace it w/a pic of my kitty, but once you replace your avatar, the board goes back and replaces the avatar in all of your old posts, which is why you can no longer see the Knight pic.

Seeknpeace, I don't know why you can't use an avatar from your hard drive. I saved the pic of JT from his website to my hard drive, cropped it, and reduced the pixel size so the Ledge would accept it, then went into my Ledge profile and supplied the link to my hard drive for the avatar.
And there are many websites that have free animated smilies you can use in either the body of a board post or in emails. I have, as you may be able to tell, become rather addicted to them..
Here is one of my personal faves:

Early on Mr. Todd suggested there were only a handful of "trouble makers" who were "unhappy" with the happenings in the fan club, and he had "thousands" of happy fan club emails following the first presale. So what's the current petition tote???

Thank you Seeknpeace for pushing on. :)

Lord Yes...hahaha...he wants to sell you things and so forth but, not let you participate in the chats. I wonder what he plans to do with all of us unhappy troublemakers who are club members IF he ever starts a chat at the fan club. He woud have some legal issues banning us from there but, holding our money...

It's obvious that that is why the "Fan Club" chat hasn't been launched yet. He probably has no idea how to handle the inevitable.

Oh it's times like that which make me wish I had joined the club...just so I can see what might go down there :-)

There are plently of us who are more than willing to hook you up. Everything that is posted to that club, every pic, video, is taken from it. Not by me, but only because I don't know how..

So true. I am not a member yet I have every picture and every video. I also don't know how it is done but the stuff is easily shared

Speaking of petitions, I had heard that apparently Jackie had removed a link to the Penguin's FM DVD petition someone had posted over on Mick's board to help spread the word saying that "it's not that we don't want people to sign it but due to that site's copyright (etc.) I've removed the link as we can't copy from other sites (etc.)".

I do understand the copyright reasons if it really was for those reasons but this is:

1. The pot calling the kettle black (after the Penguin discography/SaraRhiannon stuff) if nothing else and...

2. If the whole idea of a petition is to "get the word out" about it and Marty even had spaces at the bottom of the FM DVD petition page so you could e mail it to some people then surely no one is going to complain about the linking of the Penguin FM DVD petition page soley due to copyright reasons.

Could it be due to that "they" would make no money/not "gain" anything from this product (should the rest of the signatures be gathered) and that the DVD petition is probably viewed by Mick's site admins (including JT) as "going against what the band wants to be released"?

I guess it's just those double standards in motion again. :)

OR could it be that the refusal to support the efforts of any other entity that does not practice censorship and put a stop to us exposing Micks board, the admins possibly, and the fan club? You know, they must really not like us much. Wonder why? hehehehehehehehe:laugh:
