So we know that the new album is getting critical acclaim and that most of the fans love it and the band is very happy with it. That we know. So what is next?

We were given a small hint by Lindsey in the Performing Songwriter article where Lindsey said, "Hopefully, if things go the way we pray they will, next year we can do another album."

So what do you think....do you think the way things are going that another album is possible????? ;)
And do you think Christine would come back?

New Album - definite certainty ... Lindsey will be aching to release stuff including the strong GOS tracks he reserved from SYW.

Christine - no way. i mean, some sort of contribution - yes please! But not a return to the 'Fireflies' soap opera FM - that's over.

I think if Lindsey has anything to say about it then they'll definately do another album. He seems to be pretty happy these days (maybe for the first time ever) about being in Fleetwood Mac. He's mentioned how he wants to get right back in the studio and work w/ Stevie on songs from the ground up.

Stevie, on the other hand, sounds like she's wanting to do another solo album after this. I don't really think she should. I think she should just focus on Fleetwood Mac right now. She has more room for more songs. She says that was the only reason she ever went solo anyway.

So, do I think Fleetwood Mac will do another album? I sure as hell hope so! I think if Lindsey can convince Stevie, over a candlelight dinner, expensive wine and jewelry (;)) then it's a pretty safe bet. That would sell me at least.

I think Stevie will opt for a new FM project in lieu of a solo project if Lindsey would just start "persuading" her. ;) Come on Linds- let's get busy! I'd be happy if they'd keep doing FM. Maybe they could incorporate more of their solo songs into future tours, for those of us who would miss them.

The record is getting mostly positive reviews, but not critical acclaim...
They'll probably do another record. LB is the one who runs the show, so its basically his call. SN can do a solo album and contribute to FM as well.
If they do another band album, they should do it as a true band album, with SN and LB collaborating from the ground up, as opposed to adding her vocal at the 9th hour to an already finished song.

I have a feeling that things will stay somewhat true to form, and that Stevie will record another solo album, while the rest of the band takes some time off to rest from being on the road, and to spend quality time with their families.

I'm sure they'll probably start heading back into the studio while she's touring, to begin laying basic tracks.

Once Stevie's tour is finished, she'll re-join them, and work will commence.

Hopefully though, this time she'll do a VERY short tour (maybe only a month, like the 'White Winged Dove Tour' in '81)... so that she can get back into the studio with Fleetwood Mac a lot quicker.
I'd love to see Stevie and Lindsey collaborate on at least a few songs, "from the ground up," this time.
(Personally, I wouldn't mind if Stevie didn't tour at all... as I'd rather have more albums and faster. But I realize I'm very much in the minority there.)

As for Christine's involvement... it'd be wonderful if she guested on a few of the tracks, but I doubt she'll ever be a full-on participant again, as long as there is the intention of touring to promote the album.

Don't kill me here...ok?
No, I think SYW is the last project the band will do.

As far as albums go I definitely see Stevie doing another solo album and I wouldn't be surprised if there will be some kind of "Fleetwood Mac Farewll Tour" in a couple of years. Hopefully with Christine. Anohter Mac album? I hope so, but with Lindsey in charge you know how long that will take.

If this isn't the last one, I have a feeling there will only be one more and then that'll be it. Who knows how long this tour will last? They're talking about extending this leg for 8 more dates, taking a bit of time off and then doing a full second leg of the tour. That'll put us into 2004. I'm sure Stevie has been writing in her journal and creating new songs for a solo project. She'll do the solo thing and then tour. Hell, that might put us into 2005. If we get another album and tour out of them, it won't be for another 2 to 3 years from now...that's my thought. Quite honestly, I'd rather see Stevie do some hardcore work with Fleetwood Mac than see her put out another solo album just yet.

In performing songwriter Stevie says that a project with Sheryl Crow could be the next thing she does, but we know Lindsey wants to do another album, so who knows? I personally would prefer a Mac ablum, but not if it takes them forever to record it! As much as I love Stevie, lately I get the impression she's getting tired of the music industry, so I just want her back out on the road ASAP! :)

I think that as long as Lindsey seems excited about doing another FM album, it will get done. Stevie will put Fleetwood Mac first when push comes to shove, especially now that Lindsey actually likes working with her! My concern is that they are economical with their time. Nobody's getting any younger and with Lindsey's tendency to take years in the studio, everyone could be 60 by the time a new album sees the light of day. If that turns out to be the case, Stevie will stick a solo album in there somewhere. Lindsey can tweak away in the studio for years, but that doesn't mean she has to sit in there with him!!

Bottom line: I think they'll do one more great one, and no, I don't think Christine will come back.

IF they do another record, which i think they'll do, i don't think it will be long.. They simply cannot wait 3 years or more in between albums. Besides, LB has several songs that we already know of that are basically complete. That and SN's songs that didn't make SYW should be enough for another record.

I totally agree! I would love to see her do another FM album before we get another solo one. I personally love the collaboration between S/L as I feel that he can always pull the best out of her voice.
I just hope it does not take another 2-3 years. Yikes!

Two possibilities nobody has mentioned:

Buckingham-Nicks is finally issued on CD, perhaps with a couple of new tracks. This would make them money, make fans happy, and buy them time to decide what to do next.

Stevie and Lindsey could do their own thing together, with or without Mick and John. (Nothing against M & J, but the fan club thing could put a new rift in the band.) A Buckingham-Nicks tour that would eliminate the fan club, combine new songs, solo songs, FM songs, and old BN songs. Stevie and Lindsey love the idea of their twosome.

Gosh just seeing those words Buckingham-Nicks tour
get me so excited! I sure hope before they eventually decide (and I hate writing this) retire...they do this for us fans. I KNOW it would be a sellout as their names on the billboard would draw the masses in. Sigh...well..keep praying people!

I don't know if they will record another album or not....I guess that depends on if Stevie's wants to make another solo album & how this current tour profit wise goes...

I never thought this would happen but I am so happy to say that (at that the moment at least!) I feel that Fleetwood Mac have finally (after maybe 20 years!) become a full-time band. I think their relatively older age has become irrelevant....they still love making & playing music and their fans...and we still love their music and them! I hope Lindsey's quote about another album comes true (although 2 albums in 2 years might be a little too optimisstic for a band who produced 2 albums in 16 years!).

Keep it comin'!
