This is my fourth (and last) time typing this tonight, as I'm having trouble posting & I have to be up early to fly back to Houston.

This will be short for now, but more details will be added as soon as I can.

Highlights of coming attractions:

- All about how I met Chris Nicks after the show (he was sloshed - and had some strong opinions to share - there's a story there...)

- All about Rhiannon, Gypsy, Beautiful Child, Goodbye Baby, Stand Back - All were AMAZING --- SB had no high kick, but had the best twirls Stevie has done in the 14 years/8 tours I've attended.

- All about how Lindsey's wife must have read him the riot act after Saturday, 'cause all night, the furthest he and Stevie went was two kisses on the forehead. He made no mention of Stevie in the intro to Say Goodbye.

- All about how I met Marissa --- actually, it was brief just before the show, and she was very nice. (BTW, Congratulations again on the good news.)

- All about how the tickets I bought in the first MINUTE of the fan club presale were located in the LAST ROW of the floor. Thank you, Mr. Todd. Somewhere in the First Union Center is a urinal with your name on it, and I thought of you as I aimed.

- All about how our whole section (I was with Mom, brother, and brother's girlfriend) all sat at the start of Come. I resisted but then conformed. Well, about 2/3 of the way through the song, my mother, whose idea of a wild time is to hit Broadway or a spa with her Mah Jong game, jumps up and starts screaming, clapping, and jumping up and down on her bad leg for Lindsey's song. She was SO loud. (Christy, doublecheck your age, because it's quite likely that we were switched at birth.) Anyway, on the ride home, my mother announces "I just LOVE Come." (Now there's a statement from Mom that could send me into therapy for a loooong time.)

- Other stuff: losers sitting near us, almost being late due to a bridge delay (30 minutes with no light changes in any direction), buying a t-shirt (still no tour books), and probably a whole lot more that I won't think of until I'm in bed.

- Oh yeah, believe it or not, I LIKE NewBlackDress.

This was the MOST fun set I've ever seen/heard. I'll write more about the songs tomorrow.
Lindsey was so into everything, and Stevie started out fantastic and got better with each song. (She also seemed to get thinner as the show went on.)

The whole band was on. I will definitely try to fly somewhere this summer to catch them again if they still don't add Houston to the next leg.

I got back awhile ago actually but I was too busy being sad...what a high and now what a low.

I was 10th row, the closest ever. I never saw Lindsey so close and I spent the night with him.

Come was for me LOL! In my dreams but during that song, and this is the best moment in my life ( and Im not kidding sad to say) was when everyone sat down in front of me. My seat was smack RIGHT IN FRONT OF LINDSEY and he sang come and I sang in my heart and was right there and he looked at me and my friend and I felt it was for me. There was no one else there but me and him and his guitar. I will never get over the looks and the playing and the ...everything.

And then for another song, which escapes me now because it was just the fact I blew Lindsey a kiss and he looked back and blew one back. Thats as close as I'll ever get to a kiss from him but what an experience.

I really loved every single second, even when Lindsey MESSED up on WTWCT, he totally missed the intro and then had to speed up his lines to catch up.

I really wanted to see a kiss for Landslide ( even though I was like Stevie WHO Kristen WHO! Its JANET he wants!) he didn't do a thing and she seemed rather annoyed by him actually when he grabbed her at all.

One of the best moments as well was for Tusk, Lindsey leaned on her and after awhile Stevie just laughed and said something like " I don't know why he does that" or something and it was cute.

After Silver Springs Stevie seemed touch the crowd loved it. Lindsey and her looked at each other and she just kept singing because at that moment...it was just the two of them ( maybe their only "moment" and after the song ended she said " you remember" and smiled and walked away.

What a show. Stevie is rather small and Lindsey was just amazing.

I didn't even see John but Mick did really rock that drum solo. I got to watch Lindsey play with his hair though while that was going on.

WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to hear about your conversation w/ Chris Nicks!

Somehow I knew that Lindsey wouldn't be so touchy-feely tonight. I just wonder what his wife said. Oh to be a fly...

Here's the set list in order from last night. I think this is it; someone correct me if I'm wrong:

The Chain
Dreams
Eyes of the World
Second Hand News
Say You Will
Never Going Back Again
Rhiannon
Come
Gypsy
Big Love
Landslide
Say Goodbye
What's the World Coming to
Beautiful Child
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Silver Springs
Tusk
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way

World Turning
Don't Stop

Goodbye Baby

There was a crowd there last night. Not completely sold out (empty seats behind the stage) though.

I'm not too happy. Well, I'm happy with the Mac, but I hated my seats, Section 3, Row 16. (Yep, though the fan club.) I did take a deposable camera with me & I used the flash. Everyone was taking pictures from all over the First Union Center. I had a lot of heads in front of me; I'm not that tall, so you get the idea. I didn't like my section at all; no drunks, but a bunch of people with no life to them. I think maybe next time I should just sit off on one of the side sections. They seems to really be enjoying themselves.

You know, I was really never too hip on Come, but I have to admit here, I really like it live  The crowd sat down for this one. I did take a picture with Lindsey really getting into it; I believe he might have broke a guitar string during this song. And I always liked I'm So Afraid, & he really went to town on this song, the condensed version, not like in The Dance. Go Your Own Way rocked the house & surprisely, Tusk did, too.

I don't think Say Goodbye sounded quite right. Even my husband, who's not too into music commented on this song. Sounded off somehow.

Yeah, I think Lindsey got a lecture from the wife. The most he did was kiss Stevie on the forehead & once he kissed her hand. That was the extent of it. Stevie just smiled after he would kiss her.

Stevie looked really happy. Her highlights were Rhiannon, Beautiful Child, GDW, Silver Springs & Stand Back. I believe it was Stand Back she twirled around. She got me dizzy just watching that spin!

I love Mick; he was so into it. That crazed look on his face! World Turning was his drum solo, vest & all.

If I can think of anything else to add, I will.

Oh, I got a t-shirt, the blue one, & my husband bought me a keychain. My husband, not too into music, really liked the Mac.

I didn't see Chris Nicks, but I'd be interested in that conversation, too.

Lee :)

Oh, definately want to hear the Chris Nicks conversation. Krikey. That should be interesting. My friend Steve bought a disposable camera and I had a camera with a zoom lens and 4 rolls of film. The roll from Atlantic City and one roll from last night are being developed today so I should have some pictures to post on here later today

You guys are the first to know I'm back in Houston. (I walked in, put my bags down, checked my phone messages, & logged on. Couldn't leave you hanging.:wavey: ) I don't have time to write everything right now or organize what I put, so bear with.

First, Chris Nicks. My group misplaced the car when we left the concert & wandered around like Scooby Doo & the Gang on the case. It was sad. I knew there was some logical explanation & kept saying "I think this just LOOKS like where we parked." Sure enough, we were on the wrong parking lot. We needed to go past the 3 port-a-potties, past the fence, & across the exit/entrance lanes. My brother's girlfriend & I lagged behind my brother & mother, who were arguing over whether my mother saying we were parked near a red sign really meant that she thought we were on the wrong lot all along, as she was now claiming. My brother's girlfriend (whom I've known since Saturday) is a bit judgmental & started criticizing this guy's look to me - he was maybe thirty feet ahead. The guy seemed drunk, had long hair, and was screaming some nonsense at an equally apparently inebriated gentleman walking toward us. As we got closer to the second guy - nobody else was really close, this guy was kind of glaring at people as he walked toward us. He had this very distinct walk where he leaned forward & swung his arms casually. He was not as grey as he's looked in pictures, but did have the short ponytail, Was wearing jeans & a light blue shirt. I thought "It can't be." As he started to pass & looked at me looking out the corner of his eye (I knew him by the eyes, hair, and shape of the face), I said "Chris?" and stopped. He said "Yeah" in a very curmudgeounly way and kept walking. Maybe he was pissed at that other guy, I don't know. I called "Tell Lori we love her and miss seeing her." By now he was about ten feet past us and he stopped, turned & called "Yeah, WE are missing her! We do!" I wasn't sure we were understanding each other, whether I should shake his hand or what, and I said "No, tell her all of US really miss her" and he nodded and said "Yeah, she really needs to be here." Then he got louder and said (he really DID say:) "These songs aren't working, some of them just don't work AT ALL without her, they NEED her." And he shook his head in disgust. "Some of these songs just don't work at all without her." I was kind of stunned he would say this to a fan, proud as he may be of his wife. I didn't think to mention the fan club, & I was kind of at a loss for words anyway like a schmuck. I said "The songs were great, they worked, we just love seeing Lori up there." He looked at me like he expected me to keep talking, but I just stood there, feeling, corny as this may sound, a bit embarressed for Stevie that he'd be walking around like this like this. Not that I'm saying he's the Billy Carter of Fleetwood Mac. It's great that he was approachable, but his manner and words were probably not what Stevie would have advised, I imagine. Then he looked sort of angry again, called "Some of the songs are just NOT working at all", turned and walked, and I called "Just tell her we'd all love to see her come back on tour" and he smiled and said "She should be touring" and kept walking. He wasn't rude, he seemed friendly, just like something had already pissed him off, and in fairness, for the record, I can't say that he was definitely drunk. He wasn't holding anything, and I've never seen him in person before. It might just be that the combination of his unique mannerisms and his readiness to criticize the band's sound in some of the songs made me assume he whad been drinking. Who knows.
I probably should have said more, like that fans would prefer that HE be in charge of the fan club, and if he wants to introduce me to the band, I'd be happy to tell them that. Coulda worked, eh, especially if I said I would be willing to tell the band that they absolutely MUST have Lori, that this was the talk of the venue.

But that's it. I caught up to the rest of the group & said "I just talked with Stevie's brother!"
I have to think there was a reason we couldn't find that car....

LOL!!! That's hysterical!!! I can just see him saying that. Oh, and I couldn't find my car either! I'm like, how in the world do you misplace a buick??!?!? We ended up above the loading dock. We saw Mindy and Sharon come out. We yelled for Mindy and she wouldn't look at us. My friend Steve did an Ozzy Osbourne "SHAAROON!" and she turned around and waved to us. We saw two black limos with police escorts haul some ass out of there and that was it.

Actually, there was more than one occasion last night when Sharon and Mindy were louder than Stevie. Actually drowned (drownded...lol) her out. One time Stevie started to look over at the girls but I guess she thought the better of it and quickly turned front again. I imagine her thinking, HEY! I'm singing here!

So maybe that's what Chris was referring to?

To be fair, the band drowned her out two or three times also. Drums were too loud.

Stevie was in great form last night!

How full was the First Union Center? Did it look like a sell-out?

I'm hoping the crowd was really into the show. I wasn't able to make it due to work obligations...but I know the Philly crowd is second to none!

My guess is that it almost was a sell-out. The only place that I could see empty seats was behind the stage.

This is the first time that I've been to the F U Center, & I really think it's a nice venue.

I'd say it was a near sell-out. I was in 104 and there were empty seats right next to me. Love being able to spread out!

Actually, my husband and I were discussing this before the show started. At 8 pm, there were really a lot of empty seats, except for the floor which was packed, and the nosebleed seats which were pretty full, and of course, behind the stage was empty.

I was just shocked that so many people would pay $125 a seat and not show, so we figured that the seats weren't sold.

At 8:15, someone with a British accent, asked everyone to please take their seats as the band would be starting momentarilly. I expected to see people come pouring down from the concession stands, and many did, but when the lights went down, there were still more empty seats than I expected.

Still, I guess it qualifies as a sell-out. Someone posted earlier that a sell-out means 85%, I think? The show was definitely more than 85% sold.

Thanks for the rundown Jake!! In all fairness to Chris, he is really just like that. He is gruff and despite that he is Stevies brother, he is outspoken and is his own person. He is a light drinker as well. So, it is unlikely that he was drunk, but, with all the mess doing down and how unhappy this tour is for him, maybe he had been drinking, but, I just kinda doubt it.

My friend and I met Sharon when Stevie did Letterman during the TISL tour. She was coming out the back of the studio and she stopped and talked to us and signed things and hugged us and we took pics. She was a really nice person. All the rest of the ppl were there to see Josh Hartnett, so we kinda had her to ourselves..haha.

Okay, the Philly songs. I'm writing this from memory, and I'm typing these in the order that I think of them:

Rhiannon was great. Of course I miss the guitar and vocal competition of years ago, but this is the best version I've been lucky enough to hear in person. At times Stevie seemed ready to bust loose & really shriek, but she held back just a bit. At one point she lifted her arms and looked like she was going to spin or do something dramatic & the crowd shrieked, but she didn't follow through. Still, I love the song & did not miss the piano intro.

Stand Back was the best version ever. Vocals, spins, instruments. Up until now my favorite version was the loose one from the Red Rocks video, which doesn't have the same strong keyboard & tight sound of the Tango video that everybody seems to love. I loved the Red Rocks one because it seems to be led by the drums, not the keyboards. This new tour version is a happy medium & sounds inspired. When Stevie launched --- and I mean launched ---- into the spins, it was the most surreal concert experience that venue has seen yet.

Come was good. I was surprised by how much deeper Lindsey's voice sounds in the verses compared to the album version, but I don't mind it. (Sorry, but the album verses make me think of Adam Sandler.)

Peacekeeper was good. I think it's underrated.

Stevie sang SYW with a lot of passion. It was early in the set, and she didn't move her feet a whole lot. I wish she would, especially for the fever dance line. It reminds me of the intensity line in Seven Wonders. Can you imagine if she sang that line without passion? It's the same with standing still while singing about a fever dance, IMO.

Gold Dust Woman was incredible. The big difference was the use of the back-up singers who showed great timing & force in many of the lines. It wasn't the same old endlessly repeating Running through the Shadows of 10+ years ago. I loved it.

The Chain is always flawless.

Goodbye Baby had the best Stevie vocals of the night. Perfect.

Beautiful Child was terrific. I did not think that the back-up singers drowned Stevie out at all as many people have posted. If anything, I think Stevie's voice was a bit too strong in some parts (not just in this song, but especially here) too convey the vulnerability of the album version. But it was very good.

Gypsy really gave me chills. I did not see scenes from the video, maybe because I was looking at the wrong screens??? (I was looking at the right one for Tusk.) I would love to have seen Stevie singing in front of the black & white shot in the black dress when she runs out in the rain, holding her dress on one side, closing her eyes, and throwing her elbows out with clenched fists (my favorite shot in any video). In the past I never thought that Gypsy translated well to the stage. Both guitar and vocals seemed distant, even passionless. Not at all in this version. It was the best live version I've heard.

Silver Springs was good, but I've grown tired of it. The crowd seemed to be in a lull until the chorus.

Stevie's vocals on Don't Stop were a jolt at first --- not anything like Christine's, but they grew on me. She smiled all through the song.

Second-hand News sounded a bit garbled at first (acoustics), but got better. The crowd loved it.

Never Going Back Again really got the crowd going.

I've never cared for World Turning, but this version won me over. It was the right length & worked well as an encore. The style of Stevie & Lindsey on this song (with no Christine) was very similar to the BN album.

Go Your Own Way was fun, but I miss the top hat.

Say Goodbye really showcased Lindsey's talent on the guitar.

WTWCT was the one song that I felt did not translate well to the stage. I like it on the album, but it needed a bigger production to give it more oomph.

Dreams was good. I get the feeling this is a song that some people (ahem!) feel would benefit from the return of a certain red-head to sing back-up.

Landslide was fine. To be honest, I did not think as many people sang along to this as to NGBA.

Tusk ROCKED. It seemed to repeat and repeat, but lost none of the fire. Even the zombie in front of me (who left FOUR times to get drinks with his irritating girlfriend, NEVER applauded any song, and left at the first encore!) could be seen tapping a foot just a little. (It's ALIVE!)

Eyes of the World was a fun little song to have at the start. I was hoping Stevie would do those Mirage concert dance moves with the arms swinging side to side & the cleavage coming at you in 3D technicolor, but all she threw forward was a smile. Damn the dark, damn the hip!

Big Love was pretty much the same as the Dance, as far as I could tell.

I'm so Afraid was solid.

As I remember more, I'll add to the above.
The only real disappointments were the removal of RTTG, the absence of SOTM (would make a GREAT encore!), and the AWOL Stand Back high kick. Plus, I think Lindsey can afford a nicer shirt. (He looked like he had just gotten up off the recliner to holler at his old ball and chain to fix him a turkey pot pie.)

I WILL be trying to catch them again this summer.

I'm so glad you mentioned this. I have to agree with you. I mean...come on...how much of a slob do you have to be to make the point that you're not about looks? He's such an artist he can't be bothered I guess.

I feel it's disrespectful to the audience for him to go onstage looking like he just got off the Lazy boy to get a beer out of the fridge. Oh, and to be consistant, please, please, please don't bother to run a brush or comb through that Brillo pad on top of your head!

OMG, this is so true. My husband said, "Well, Lindsey is just wearing a white t-shirt, isn't he?" I said, "Yes, that's it". He looked better in The Dance. Maybe he didn't care b/c it wasn't being filmed.

As much as I'd prefer Lindsey in the white linen button down shirt, I don't see how a rock star wearing a clean white t-shirt is disrespectful. I see most rock stars wearing t-shirts, Mick Jagger and the rest of the Stones, Don Henley and the rest of the Eagles, etc. If anything, Lindsey used to dress up more than other rock stars during the earlier FM tours, and that seemed unusual.

Lindsey does not get a break to stop playing until about 15-20 minutes before the end of the show when he sits down for 5 minutes during Mick's boring solo. He is on stage and playing guitar for every single song and his energy and stamina is amazing and you wonder how this 53 year old man can perform at this level. I cannot imagine him wearing the black jacket and shirt that he wore during many of the Dance shows. He was sweating after many of his own solos and I imagine the t-shirt is more comfortable for him, the same way the ugly Reeboks are more comfortable for Stevie.

His wavy hair seems to be combed beautifully when he comes on stage but he messes it up a bit wiping the sweat off of his head and rubbing his face in a towel several times during the show.

When Lindsey walks on that stage and performs during this tour, "Lazy Boys and beer" are the last thing that come to mind.

I met him at the PNC Show in NJ in July 2001, He spoke to me and my friends briefly and struck me as pretty serious but polite. Well I guess he was under some pressure during that time and according to Waddy, Stevie was pretty sick at that point with a lung infection so I guess Chris was worried about her....

Now this is what I picked up from your experience with Chris....

You said he appeared drunk or pretty buzzed. He does'nt strike me as a lush so I wonder if being shut out of the Tour Merch Section ticked him off or he had some friction with Stevie...I have heard from other sources that they do have their sibling conflicts that come to a head during certain tours...Everyones family has inner squabbles so Stevie & Chris are no different...

Lori's absence from the Tour indicates that there might be some possible friction between her-Stevie-Chris . Maybe Mick or Lindsey did'nt see eye to eye with her and requested her removal.

If you don't see Stevie's Mom & Pop or even her niece Jessica in attendance during this SYW Tour, then you know there's some serious issues.....

I did'nt get a chance to go to First Union due to my work hours but I will see you guys at the Meadowlands !!!!

I doubt Lori was shut out of the show. I think she's just choosing to stay home & be a Mom. It's possible that Chris is pushing her to tour, but more likely he's okay with her being at home, he just thinks the songs are lousy without her. I would be shocked if there's any friction between Stevie & her family right now. She seems too happy, & they do live together when she's not on the road.

Here's a thought. Perhaps Lori was ready to tour & then backed out when Chris was not put in charge of merchandising. This might explain some of the hard feelings Stevie had towards Lindsey/the band before the tour started. Stevie would be upset, Chris would be upset, Lori would be out of sight, and the whole Jonathan Todd fiasco with the fans would be fueling the hard feelings right now.

This is a reach and probably NOT AT ALL TRUE, but it's an interesting theory, IMO.

The bottom line is I wish Lori were along for this ride, & I wish Chris (or anybody including Biddy Fleetwood) were in charge of the fan stuff.

I think that I have heard that Lori made the decision to not tour to be with Jessica long ago. She participates in the in studio parts but, not on the road. I bet that they will be at the AZ and CA shows, but, that is just a guess.

Ok, I respect your opinion but it's still a little strange Lori's not with Stevie even as a backup to the backup. Perhaps it's speculation and Lori will be onstage on CA & AZ to help out or act as a ready reserve in case Sharon or Mindy have any unforseen worries.....

I don't think that Lori was there much during the TISL tour either. Jessica is in school now too, so you may see more of her when Jess is out for the summer, you know?

I didn't like the t-shirt either. Let's be blunt here....he was wearing UNDERWEAR! It wasn't the kind of t-shirt you'd wear in some nice color with shorts or has a saying on it or has the picture of a particular band :D on it.

It was just plain underwear. Uses as outerwear.

Do any of you go to work in your underwear?

Are any of you a millionaire in underwear?

I understand about being hot and sweaty. But there must be a ton of cool cotton snazzy shirts available at Bloomingdale's.

Maybe somebody lost Lindsey's luggage?

I agree totally and I am a Lindsey fan DOWN. I think that he looks bad in the shirt. Some ppl maybe could pull that off, but, it makes him look, uh, I don't know, unkept, old, just not cool, and it is underwear. He looks good when he wears that open white shirt. And, during the dance, he was so hot in the black shirt, but, this is not flattering to him at all.

I have told you guys and TOLD you guys:

Lindsey isn't being taken care of these days.
I'm glad somebody brought it up.

Now me, if he was MY personal Ken doll, I'd have him in a nice blue shirt just the color of those eyes, uh huh.

Lindsey, like Stevie isn't as young as he used to be, sure he's skinny, (too skinny) but just like Stevie isn't going to look like her Mirage era self, Lindsey can't work the white V-neck tee shirt anymore like he used to.

I used to look at him in that old man V-necker and think he was hot, hot, hot, but now I do find myself wishing he'd wear something else.

It's so day-room-at-the-nursing-home, you know?

You know we are probably going to see his wardrobe change about just as much as Stevie's has, which is NONE.

I still love 'em, though.

I'm not THRILLED about that v-neck shirt either, but look at THIS photo of him in a v-neck!!! SMMMMMMMOOOOOOKIN hot!!!!!

http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/lbphotos/LBuckCowboy.html

He looks comfy in the teeshirts and stuff...so whatever, I wouldn't want him on stage in some getup that was uncomfy and he didn't perform ELECTRIFYINGLY like I've read described!! EEK!

But, OMG, what I wouldn't give to see Lindsey in a THREE PIECE SUIT!! I'm going, going....gone...

PS - Lori was at the LA shows during Stevie's TISL tour. She signed my tourbook backstage at the final night. She was a sweetie. Chris was there although I didnt see him directly, when we were being asked to leave, a group of groupies went over to him to "talk" I suppose. (the girls were really wanting someone to take them to where Stevie was) He seemed fine too from what I could see...

Well that picture just proves the point.

He needs a different, albeit still comfy, shirt. He doesn't look like that anymore.

BTW, just what is Chris' "job" this time around?

Whay is he even there if he's not doing the merch?

That is a pretty hot picture!

But you'll notice (I'm sure...lol) that shirt fits nicely.

The one he wore Monday was raggedy, saggy and baggy.

.....I love to walk with a man in a dark linen suit, all alone...:D

Have to agree. That pic's a hottie! Yeeooow! That T also fits better. It has a little logo and doesn't look like undies the way the one he's wearin now does.

You know, it reminds me of something that my dad used to wear around the house, from a pack of three or something. I am sure that he got it from a high priced place, but, why does it look so bad? It just looks bad....

Got a prize for you soon Glitter..hehe. And, we still need to talk...:wavey:

Lori hasn't toured with Stevie since what, The Other Side of The Mirror in 1989? As far as Stevie's parents, they'll probably be in AZ for the benefit. I don't see them flying all over the place as they are not as young as they used to be. The fact that Stevie is getting police escorts has me wondering what her fear factor is at this point, what with everything going on in the world. She probably wouldn't want her parents flying around too much either. As for Chris, he was probably just venting, that's all. People say anything when they're drunk.

You're quite the charmer aren't you!

Listen jackass, I don't know why you've got it in for my friend, but you better stop these totally unprovoked, stupid and meaningless attacks NOW. I cannot believe you actually had the nerve to edit your post over an hour after your original one and add what you did. Do you have nothing else to do? Why don't YOU go and "save a whale"?

And by the way, double negative in grammar = positive. But you're probably too stupid to understand that.

But I'm glad you got a chance to use that line on somebody who needs to hear it.
