There are no stains on the cap, HOWEVER there is a faint ink mark on the bottom of the hat which looks as though he could have hit the bottom of the cap with his pen either prior to or after signing the hat. The cap is adjustable. The inside measurement of the had is 22 1/2 inches with another 2 1/2 inches available to make large and you certainly can make it smaller.
