I wish that the soft mix of "Countdown" was also included in addition to some demos or unreleased material, but I'm glad that we got a few more songs that are now commercially available. |

He included Twisted, a song written by Stevie. I had preferred an alternative version, if any still exist out there, to fit more in the "rarities" qualification.
Would like to know how he decided to include that song.

Ugh. It feels like one of his "outreach to Stevie" nonsense moves.....Appeal to her ego or whatever.

And just as a fact, the Twister film soundtrack is not easy to find in stores. I'm guessing one could find it in a collector music store. Soldier's Angel would have been cool but that's not a duet even though Lindsey's vocals are very much present. In Your Dreams is actually hard to find in stores now too. |

It’s the song that effectively pulled his and Mick Fleetwood’s careers out of the gutters?

As if Stevie was playing arenas in 95/96....

Twisted was an enormous Top 10 hit. So kind of Stevie to call Lindsey to ask him to join her and produce this song. She is committed to charity.

Well, she should be committed.

All Stevie really needed to do was lose weight, stop smoking, get a makeover, and do a post-Klonopin “Comeback” concert on MTV with celebrity guests (Sheryl, Dave, Eddie, Tom, Don, Courtney, Billy Corgan, etc). I doubt it would have been as durable as the Fleetwood Mac reunion, but she was the only one who could’ve gotten back to relevancy without The Dance.

You said in 1996 Stevie showed she was open to working with Lindsey and Mick. And? That’s not entirely true. Stevie was open to working with Lindsey 6 years earlier in 1990. It was Mick she was mad at after the BTM tour because she wasn’t permitted to include SS on TS. |

“Twisted” was their way of letting the world (i.e. MTV, Clear Channel, promoters) know Fleetwood Mac -the one people remember- were open for business.

I was actually looking forward to the plans for the documentary and concert. She was recording with some producer known for his hip-hop credentials, probably hoping to increase her appeal. In 1995, she had the fateful conversation with Don Was on the airplane. Apparently, he was the guy who convinced her to get going again — start writing, start playing, join the human race again, like Dolly Levi. Her three appearances in 1996 (Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Columbia) were the result of that conversation.

Just a reminder that the 20th Century Lindsey Buckingham CD set will be available for purchase August 15, I believe.
And of course, the long awaited full release of the Mirage Concert CD will be released Sept 20. In November, the Christine McVie biography will come out, and in December, another Fleetwood Mac book will be released. Kind of a lot of activity at one time. |
