Teleprompter? Really??
I captured this image from the Melbourne EOS video...around the 00:46 second mark.

No doubt she has a hard time remembering the lyrics sometimes.
Aw...Stevie's getting old.

I guess it's comforting to have it there? She may have written the lyrics but imagine a complete mind blank in front of all those people - horrifying

in the old days she would have to wing it and switch up or add new lyrics ... spontaneous unlike now where every show is exactly like the last the only change she makes now is to drop good songs from the set

Crazy thing is, she still messes up the lyrics sometime. Stevie is such a human... I love it! Wonder how long she been using the prompter.

I see nothing wrong with it...it's not like she's up there clearly relying on the screens to feed her the words.

OK, I must be in the minority....
OK, I must be in the minority here, but I find it disappointing about the teleprompter....especially for the songs she's been performing for decades, you'd think those lyrics would be hardwired into her brain by now. Maybe it's a sign of damage that drugs did.

It's pretty standard in the industry now. The first time I heard of one being used was Ozzy about 12 - 13 years ago. Now everyone seems to have them.

I've noticed them at a few shows lately. When Dolly was rattling off one of her homespun Smoky Mountain stories, I turned around to look at the crowd and noticed a teleprompter...displaying the story she was telling. At their age, I can see the need for this. Even divas have their senior moments!

She sneaked many peaks at it during Soldier's Angel in Boston this summer. Don't blame her at all, that song has to be easy to lose your place in.

I don't think it's a matter of her forgetting words. She's lost her place in a song many times over the years - nothing new, lol! I see no problem with this or any reason to be upset.

Oh, I'm not upset. Bruce Springsteen has been using one since the early 90's. He isn't singing with his eyes closed. He's looking down at the teleprompter.
My point was that SN can't remember the words and stage cues for 14 songs, when we know ALL the words and stage cues. |

Big deal. I agree that its probably just there for comfort.
Now if she starts using Autotune....
