Stevie Nicks dishes the dirt on Menopause
Published: June 13, 2010
The rock icon who has time and again proved her courage on all the fronts – be it her personal life or her drug addiction – is facing yet another difficult phase in her life: menopause. According to brainyquote.com, Stevie said: “Rock and menopause do not mix. It is not good, it sucks and every day I fight it to the death, or, at the very least, not let it take me over.” Apparently, amid several lows that menopause brought along, for Stevie the phase worked as a fighting agent against her drug addiction. Speaking about her drug addiction, blender.com quotes the Fleetwood Mac singer as saying: “Since I got out of rehab in 1994, I’ve stopped doing serious drugs. And then as menopause touched my life, I stopped even having a glass of wine. I don’t drink at all. I find that I’m spacey enough on my own that I don’t need to be drinking or smoking; it just doesn’t fit into my life anymore. I’m very glad, because it’s not like I’m fighting every day to not do drugs. They’re just gone.” The hormonal imbalance caused by menopause resulted in her sweat glands to work overtime. While she was witnessing the peak of her menopause she revealed that she used to spend hours in the washroom. “I break out in hot flushes and I just have to sit down,” she told allaboutyou.com. “That is when I get a big, fabulous Japanese fan and cool myself. I may as well be fabulous while I’m suffering.” During an interview, the 62-year-old reminisced how she always believed that menopause would not cause her a lot of trouble because by that time her looks would not matter her as much. “But I was wrong,” she is quoted by Fleetwoodmac.net as saying. “You think when you’re 50 it’s over. You’re not going to care. But you will care. You realize it matters to look pretty. But your hormones go crazy and by then it’s even harder to lose weight. “I fight [menopause] every day. It takes over your life. It makes you not feel good. I’ve heard women say menopause is wonderful, the ‘change’ is great, but it’s not. It sucks. It forces you to make a choice-whether you want to get old or you want to stay young.” http://www.celebrities-with-diseases...ause-5834.html |

Stevie I think I can speak for everyone when I say we do not give a flying f*ck about how you feel about menapause right now. I mean seriously I am baffled if this is in fact a new interview. Why would she choose to discuss menapause as apposed to discussing whatever the hell it is she currently has planned.
And wasn't she going through menapause earlier in the decade. Is this a 10 year process.

I think she chose to do this particular interview to help others and share her experiences about an intimate issue, and for that, i say kudos Stevie!
Hopefully the next interview won't be with celebritieswithdiseases.com! |

In other words, it's a compilation of quotes strung together to make an article. It's not a new interview.

And menopause can indeed take ten years, but she said that years ago and they just plucked it out now
Okay, I'm done. I'm promise

as for women, it's a whole different story, our bodies not only go thru puberty & menopause, but our hormonal makeup changes every 7 years~ not mention, that we can give birth amongst other things~ there is not one damn thing wrong w/ stevie discussing this, especially seeing as her fan base is aging right along w/ her~ & some women might find it refreshing to know our stevie physically goes thru the struggles all of us women do~ i'm just saying... |
