Nice find! Makes the song more horny than it already is. It never came to me as "sexy". I think it's a step further than that. It's sweaty, almost explicit. After this incredible find even more.

Hmm. Let's all play it in the bedroom tonight!

I love this song. But hell, I love the whole friggin'album without any exception.

Is this old news? Does anyone else hear "touch me," or am I simply crazy?
I just listened to "Brown Eyes" again & I can hear "touch me". I've been listening to this song for years & I never noticed this. Thanks, Justin for pointing it out. I think "Brown Eyes" is the sexiest Fleetwood Mac song ever, by far.

actually, I like "Brown Eyes." But I think it's valorized--practically fixated on--out of all proportion to its actual intrinsic merit. There are more interesting things going on musically in a track like "Never Forget."

I do find the chord progression far more interesting on Never Forget.

That's awesome. Just now heard that...now, I must listen to the entire song.

Brown Eyes is the type of song that you imagine playing in some smoky, hole-in-the-wall bar/club type place back in the late 70's where people are doing like...dirty dancing (like the place in the actual movie, Dirty Dancing...nobody really knows about it, but the regulars, ya know?).

I can't believe you found that, Justin. I would've never picked that out in a million years. You rock.
Anyway, I think this song is exquisite, and while I normally don't like shalalas, in this song they bring the stunning harmonies, so I love them. Chris' Tusk work just slays me. Even songs I don't listen to much because they are so "slow", like Brown Eyes, still slay me. Even my least favorite songs, Over and Over and Make Me Cry slay me. My two favorites, Never Forget and Honey Hi, practically make me faint.
The music in Brown Eyes is strange, and so perfect. And the shalalalas haunt me. And yes, it's very sexy.

I'm a minor babe, period. I noticed you said you don't find the music very interesting. I don't know how complex it is musically, but the way it turned out, and sounds, to my ears, is unusual. *god that sentence sucked!*

Oh, Tusk, how I love thee. Sooo magical, so perfect. I've never heard them sound better on each other's songs. I'm going to have to listen to the whole thing now.

To me, complexity doesn't necessarily generate interest. Inre Brown Eyes, it's not that I'm uninterested in what is going on musically; it's just that I think there are more interesting things in many of the other tracks on the album--which may or may not be more structurally complex than Brown Eyes. The complexity aspect to me is almost irrelevant (as it does in almost every FM track)--at least in terms of song structure.

But it's just one of those mysteries of art: no one can pinpoint precisely what it is that hits listeners square on.

Oh. Well, I think it's one of the most unusual sounding. And it's a bit dark tinged, which I don't hear as much from Christine. Speaking of which, Think About Me is playing now, and it's totally normal sounding.
Anyway, yeah, what you said about art. Eww, SMAP. Must skip.

I think it's always striking when someone does a song that's along different lines to what they normally do. Chris didn't do so many moody songs - if Stevie or Lindsey had sung this maybe it wouldn't appeal to people in the same way.

It's like when Jeremy Spencer did songs that weren't Elmore James - it was rare, so it stood out
