I know this is sort of OT but there is a really nice Elvis Christmas boot over there right now with alternate takes, remixes and some unreleased stuff.

On the Top 10 page of EZ Torrent, at the very bottom, is the list of Top 10 Worst seeded torrents". Stevie Nicks Live at US Festival is #7. What does that mean? I've got three things downloading right now and I feel like I haven't a clue what I'm doing. I hope this works! I have wanted to see Stevie's performance at the US Festival for years so I decided to quit feeling so inept and just give this a try!

Worst seeded means tons of people are trying to get the show and not enough people who have it are staying connected. It takes a certain number of seeders (people who have the whole file) to get the show out for others to take. A lot of people grab the show and disconnect. That happens a lot with people who don't use the site very much. They just want to snatch a show and leave. You're supposed to stay connected after a download so others can upload from you. It's considered a rule of thumb to stay connected and upload as much as you downloaded. A lot of people don't. Eventually they will be barred from getting downloads once they exceed a certain limit without uploading. If you get this show, it would be nice to stay connected so others can get it too. The more uploads or seeders connected, the faster it is for others to get the show downloaded. Even if I already have a certain dvd, sometimes I download it anyway so I can be a seeder. I'll go get this one and stay online as a seeder and maybe this will help. As of now there are 6 seeders (people giving out the show) and 71 leechers (people trying to get the show.) That's why it's on the worst seeded list. I'll start seeding and maybe that will help take it off the list. If other people would stay connected after downloading that would help get it off the worst seeded list and help the reputation of Mac fans with the torrent community. Right now, it's not that great, just for this very thing...taking without giving any back.
Let's see if we can turn that around.

I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but if you're absolutely sure that your DVD is from the same source as that of the original seeder, you can just rip those files directly to your hard drive and then connect to the torrent as a seeder. It's a bit less time-consuming.

Ok -here's another (potentially) dumb question: Once I have something downloaded from EZTorrent (my first-yahoo!) can I listen to it while still leaving it available for others to get it from me? Or do I have to wait another 15 hours so others can get it first, and then I can listen? I'm trying to do all this right but some aspects of this are not mapped out real clearly. Also, how long should you wait before disconnecting or closing it out or whatever, i.e. is there an appropriate amount of time to wait? Thanks for everyone's help! Ooops, one more question, I have three more things downloading-it shouldn't make a difference on the time it takes to download based on how many I have going at the same time, right? I'm assuming this because your download time depends on how many other people leave theirs up, not how many you have going concurrently, right? Thanks, Ricoh

Argh...please excuse my naivete, but everytime I try to download something, I get a red error message saying "bad data from tracker". Can anyone help?

OK I have successfully got my first lossless download downloaded! My first one to complete was the Heart Burn To The Wick show from 1/79. I can't beleive how good the quality of the sound is. Not so difficult after all and definately worth the wait!

I just have to say the US Fest Stevie show that is up for download is EXCELLENT. This sucker should have been released. She's so into it with the crowd and so happy and excited to be there in front of that many people. I have one version of this show on dvd... But this one far exceeds that one in terms of quality. Great show!!
