I played it a few times when it first came out and then barely touched it again for 9 years. A few months ago I dragged it out and put the CD in my car and played it over and over. Its not something I'd ever listen to at home but I appreciate it a lot in the car.
Most are very good songs. A few are really good; Northern Star, Friend, Sweet Revenge, Givin' it Back.
I'm currently liking 'So Sincere'. This quirky line in particular really stands out; 'Funny little white car with the broken light'. For some reason it sounds so unlike Christine. I wonder if there's someone in particular that has a funny little white car with a broken light.
All in all for me it's a good album- her best solo. I think the production could be a bit more exciting though. It's a bit....er, beige.

Almost every song on 'In the Meantime' was co-written with another writer (not including the ones that Dan Perfect wrote by himself), so there is no way to know who wrote a particular lyric.

Or, is there some some reason to think that Chris wrote all of the lyrics, and that it was the music that was written (or contributed to) by the co-writers of the various songs?

I wish that when a song is co-written, there could be a way to let the fans know who wrote what parts of the song.

Yes it would be interesting to know what contributions each person made.

I'm curious now- Dan Perfect obviously has a good deal of talent. Has he ever done anything else of note musically? (either before or after?) I know he's a moderately successful artist but surely if he focused on his songwriting he could be getting hit singles for somebody.

This it tough but here is a try:
Why
Spare me a little
Say you love me
Warm Ways
Over and over
Never forget tonight
Brown eyes
Isn't it midnight
Wish you were here
The smile I live for
Nights in Estoril
Oh Daddy
Songbird

Not gonna check if I've already answered this thread so will give it another go:

Over and Over (this song just takes me to the islands and always clears my head of bad thoughts, it is truly the opener that threw us for a loop in '79 and what a great loop it was)
Why (a missed opportunity for the current tour, her most epic early 70's adventure)
Say You Love Me (her best mac hit)
You Make Loving Fun (a Rumours stand out and a sweet, wonderful song)
Songbird (love it but it's not as good as Why)
Spare Me Little of Your Love (come on folks, should'a bin a hit in 72)
As Long as you Follow (truly sublime)
Friend ( my favourite modern solo song of hers)
Hold Me (better than Don't Stop, although I love that song too)
Honey Hi (short and boy is it sweet, best 3-part harmony of the fab 5)

I see through the thread that you and I answered this in 2005! I wrote Bad Journey on my list at that time. I do love that song.

Here is my top ten as of 2014--in no particular order:

Friend (acoustic)
Say You Love Me
You Make Loving Fun
Forgiveness
Crazy Bout You Baby (live-in-studio version from Madison Blues)
Oh Daddy
Honey Hi
One in a Million
Sugar Daddy
Temporary One

Honorable mention: Believe Me (Sausalito Soundboard, 1974)

Oh boy...I see Crazy Bout You Baby...

I just had to go and dig out my Christine Perfect album;
On reflection Let Me Go, Close to Me, No Road Is The Right Road and I'm Too Far Gone To Turn Around as well as Crazy Bout You Baby could all make my top ten list depending upon my mood.
Jeez that album is seriously funky Huggy Bear music.

Christine's catalog of great songs is just too vast, making it impossible to pick just ten favorites. But I like your list, so I'm going with it!
