The Eagles Greatest Hits Album has overtaken Michael Jackson's Thriller by 38 to 33 million copies...wow! The Hotel California album shot over the Rumours LP to 26 million vs. 20 million albums sold.

It seems like whoever updates Fleetwood Mac's album sales is pretty sluggish about it. I can't believe that Hotel California has passed Rumours by that much. Hotel California sounds very dated now compared to Rumours.

Did The Eagles do anything particularly big recently to lead to this jolt of sales? I know they've been touring but they've always toured. Or maybe Glenn passing made people want to listen to them some more.
