Honk My Hooter! I never knew they did Brown Eyes live. It's awesome.

No way - the Mac only did Hold Me on the Mirage Tour. I don't get it either, it's a great song and was a major hit. Would have loved to have seen them do it during The Dance or Lindsey doing it solo on the SYW Tour. I think I would have rather had them do Hold Me instead of Don't Stop.

They did it on the Mirage and the Tango tours. In my opinion anyway, I always thought it was one of the few songs that were more enjoyable on the Rick/Billy tours than they were with the previous Lindsey tours.

I'd have to agree only because I really like the "I Loved Another Woman" guitar introduction that went straight to Brown Eyes.

I totally agree - that makes those versions great...awesome how those two songs just flow together.

Absolutely. I also love Everywhere from that tour. I think it was decently horrible on the Dance tour. I really loved Stevie singing "I want to be with you EVERywhere..."

True, some GREAT Christine songs on the Tango and BTM tours....Everywhere, Isn't it Midnight, Little Lies, Brown Eyes...but then there are those songs that, while Billy and Rick get credit for doing a good job, I just could never warm up to their versions...in particular, the "big guns," The Chain and Go Your Own Way. Both of these songs seemed to just lose all of their punch. As a matter of fact, The Chain has never been the same since then, even with Lindsey in '97 and '03-'04. Both songs were so emotional on the Mirage Tour and then were so blah after that. Go Your Own Way seemed to have come back to life but The Chain has, in my opinion, remained subpar ever since.

I completely agree. The Mirage tour was in credible for The Chain and GYOW. The Chain I think has lost its punch because there really isn't that tention anymore, so really the song is just "lyrics that speak the emotion of another time." I loved GYOW on the Mirage tour because Stevie really stole the show by wailing the end "AHHHHHH YOU CAN CALL IT UNDER, THE LONELY, AH THE LONELY, THE LONELY DAYYYYYYYYY..."

Mirage GYOW was perfection, raw emotion - Lindsey's awesome "BABY I'd GIVE YOU MY WORLD" and "OPEN UP", Stevie's Woah's and ahh's, and Christine's subtle lyrical foundation in the background were just incredible together. I always hated the way Billy sang that song. Rick's playing was technically fine, but I found the last solo in particular to be uninspired and boring. It was too anthem-like...which is fine for some bands and some songs, but not an emotionally charged song like GYOW.

I respect Rick a lot. He's a decent guitarist and unfortunetly didn't really go anywhere in his career. However, I think Billy sucks miserably. I don't believe they should've performed any Lindsey song, just like I don't believe Stevie should sing Landslide unless she's has a strong connection with whoever's playing the guitar.

Basically, they discovered that "Hold Me" didn't come of live as well as they would've liked. I tend to agree, I thought it pretty much sucked on the Mirage tour.

My apologies....Alice Lover is correct, (me-bad), the song does NOT appear on the 1990 CD...I must have been looking at one of the 1982's...

(Trying to save face....here is a live version of Hold Me from 1982...)
