I have a feeling I'm Gold Dust Woman....
'take your silver spoon, dig your grave' 'rulers make bad lovers, you better put your kingdom up for sale' 'did she make you cry, make you break down' sounds like myself.... |

Also I have met Christine and she was so sweet as was her mother. I'm just having fun. I doubt she does any type of drug. Last edited by vivfox; 07-01-2009 at 10:57 PM.. |

I was going to say "Gold Dust Woman" for me as well, but my list got really long really quickly. I think the reason I love Fleetwood Mac's music, specifically Stevie's, is because I relate to so, so much of it-- in terms of who I am INTERNALLY, not experiences, characteristics, etc.

nah, I'm just told I 'was born with a silver spoon in my mouth' on many occasions. it sucks really. But yeah, no drugs here. never tried any and don't plan on it and on edit of my original post- the line 'lousy lovers pick their prey...never cry out loud' also fits. BTW Vivfox, thank you for such kind words, it was so nice to meet you! |

eh, I don't care what Stevie says, that song was never about drugs to begin with. It was anger directed at women who wanted the men in her life...That's what the story was back in 1978, at least. It only became about drugs when she realized some of the words might be plausibly applied to cocaine, kinda' like the way she says "Landslide" is about Katrina: "I realize that now." Hilarious!

Beautiful Child. Save Me A Place. The sound of longing.

"Gold Dust Woman" was apparently inspired by a street in Phoenix. It was probably her CONSCIOUS reflection on something entirely different than coke-- but that doesn't mean she didn't express how she FELT about it. And, after a few years, she might have realized how strongly that song ties with her substance abuse. Just my $.02. |

Taken from Stevie's Spin interview in October of 1997:
"I don't really know what ‘Gold Dust Woman’ is about. I know there was cocaine there and that I fancied it gold dust, somehow. I'm going to have to go back to my journals and see if I can pull something out about ‘Gold Dust Woman.’ Because I don't really know. It's weird that I'm not quite sure. It can't be all about cocaine." |

Hmmm without giving it too much thought, I'd say im STORMS. "I've never ever been a blue calm see, i have always been a storm" Particulary because it is said without volume, and so calmly (ironic) Said with peace. The broken hearted victim stuff though does not relate
