I'll say this about John Mayer, he has good influences. I just find his style to be one-dimensional. He plays to an audience who wouldn't know who Stevie Ray Vaughan was let alone who Peter Green is. Otherwise they wouldn't be buying John Mayer albums. If Eric Clapton had died in that helicopter crash in 1990, I'm sure Mayer would be lifting a thing a two from him as well.

Clapton's alive & well but Mayer STILL lifts things from him, anyway. He's even stupid enough to ADMIT IT PUBLICLY.

Mayer, to me, is a "male Sheryl Crow"...do anything to get his name & face in the public's eye. Seems like he (well, come to think of it, Sheryl, too) shows up at every Clapton benefit event.

I'm just glad that Eric had sense enough to ask Derek Trucks to tour with him instead of John Mayer.

I saw him on the Crossroads DVD hamming it up on stage with Clapton, it was embarrassing. He certainly is an attention whore. Notice how he dumps his famous girlfriends when they lose their popularity?

"Male Sheryl Crow"... If the Rolling Stones or Eric Clapton are/is coming to your town, you can bet Sheryl Crow isn't far behind.
